Introduction

This is not a troll build. It might seem so at the beginning but trust me, it works wonders. The first time I came across a Tank Kassadin was in ranked. I thought that my teammate was going to troll us to a loss, but with a 4 versus 5 beginning game, Our tankadin kept us in the running until our 5th reconnected. We then proceeded to roll the other team. I was so inspired by what he did, i proceeded to test his build for weeks until i was confident enough to make a guide about it.

I apologize for the lack of detail, but it was meant to be a build. I realized that i should add info and text into this build before people start screaming TROLL. So here it is, half build half guide.

There is a place between dimensions and between worlds. To some it is known as the Outside, to others it is the Unknown. To most, however, it is called the Void. Despite its name, the Void is not an empty place, but rather the home of unspeakable things, horrors not meant for minds of men. Though such knowledge is lost in modern times, there are those who have unwittingly discovered what lies beyond, and they have been unable to turn away. Kassadin is such a creature. He was once a man forced to look upon the face of the Void and forever changed by what he saw. Once a seeker of forbidden knowledge, he discovered that what he sought was something else entirely. He is one of the few that has found his way to forgotten Icathia and lived to tell the tale, following the scant breadcrumbs hidden in ancient texts.

Within a decaying cyclopean city, Kassadin found secrets of the kind that he will never share - secrets that made him quake with fear at the visions of things to come that were thrust upon him. The power of the place threatened to consume him forever, but Kassadin took the only route available to him in order to survive - he let the Void inside him. Miraculously, he was able to overcome the alien urges that went with it, and he emerged as something more than human. Though a part of him died that day, he knows that he must protect Valoran from the things scratching at the door, waiting to get in and visit their torments upon the world. They are only one step away... something to which the appearance of the abomination known as Cho'Gath attests.

If you look upon the Void, you can't put it behind you. If you look upon Kassadin, he is probably already there.

Champion Skills

Kassadin takes 15% reduced magic damage and transforms this damage into bonus attack speed.

This passive is the soul of tank Kassadin. 15% reduced magic damage?? This is what makes him the best anti mage.

Kassadin fires a void bolt dealing 80 / 130 / 180 / 230 / 280 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and silencing the target for 1 / 1.4 / 1.8 / 2.2 / 2.6 seconds.

Who the hell doesn't hate laning against this spell? I mean really? a point and shoot silence. More Anti Mage Tools.

Passive: Kassadin's melee attacks draw energy from the void, restoring 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20 mana each hit. If this effect is triggered from attacking a champion the amount of mana restored is tripled.

Active: Kassadin charges his nether blade, gaining 7 / 15 / 25 / 38 / 50 armor penetration for 5 seconds.

This ability doesn't really help with the tanking but it sure helps with Kassadin's Mana problems. The armor pen just makes it so much better.

Kassadin draws energy from spells cast in his vicinity, gaining a charge whenever a spell is cast near him. Upon reaching 6 charges, Kassadin can use Force Pulse to deal 60 / 115 / 170 / 225 / 280 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and slow enemies by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% in a cone in front of him for 3 seconds.
This has a great burst even without AP. You will always have the stacks to use this as you are tanking all of the damage.

Kassadin teleports to a nearby location dealing 60 / 90 / 120 (+40% of ability power) magic damage to surrounding enemy units. Additionally, each subsequent Riftwalk in the next 7 seconds costs 100 additional mana and deals 60 / 90 / 120 additional damage.

Can you get anymore ninja than this? I highly doubt it. But it is difficult to spam this skill using the tank Kassadin build. So be very cautious and do NOT overuse it.

Skill Sequence

So you guys are probably going to hate me for this, but yes. We are going to max out Nether Blade before Null Sphere.

Mid game. After you get your Force of Nature and your half finished Madred's Bloodrazor
your Null Sphere is not going to do as much damage as you hoped. your Nether Blade will give you more damage with its armor pen.

So there ya go!

Summoner Spells

Completely up to you.
Any summoner is good on Kassadin. you could even jungle if you decided to build up madred's razor first.

Runes

So for runes i like to run magic penetration because it really synchs with your Madred's Bloodrazor.

Armor Seals because im really cheap.

Hp/level glyphs help a lot. and the flat hp quints are life savers early game so have fun with it.

Items

Okay DOWN TO THE GOOD STUFF.

So you start off with a Regrowth Pendant because its cool and keeps you in lane. You are now the harasser because you can deal damage and take punishment. Its also a great starting item because from there you can build it into a Force of Nature if you are doing good. or a Warmog's Armor if you need the extra hp.

Berserker's Greaves

for the attack speed. Yes you might be wondering why i don't grab Sorcerer's Shoes but i find that the extra attack speed is a lot more helpful.
Mercury Treads and Ninja Tabi are also excellent choices.

Madred's Bloodrazor

is what is going to give you some kills. Combined with your passive you are going to receive up to 2.5 atk speed. and you will be one unkillable f*cker.

So if they aim you then they lose. If they don't aim you then they still lose. Who likes those chances??? i know i do.

Depending on how the game evolves from those 4 items you can run Thornmail or a Frozen Heart for the extra mana. The Frozen Mallet has an incredible slow that will make them a running amputee.

Frozen Mallet really helps with the extra hp and the awesome slow. PERIOD. However, You do not want it too early in the game unless you are too poor for a Warmog's Armor in this case, Frozen Mallet will be the better investment.

A summary of your end game build if you ever make it that far.
You vs. DAT Ashe
Randuin's Omen Sunfire Aegis Force of Nature Madred's Bloodrazor Berserker's Greaves Thornmail/ Frozen Heart

You vs. any AP Caster
Banshee's Veil Force of Nature Madred's Bloodrazor Berserker's Greaves Sunfire Aegis and any item of your choice.
