The way to beat Aatrox is to double harpoon him in the face when he jumps in on you to minimize how many times he can auto you before you back off and start roasting him outside of his auto attack range. He will keep trying to turn around while running away to land an auto here and there and if played right with good kiting you will be able to not take extra autos and still hit him for two rotations of your Q damage because he will be slowed by your double E. Because he is melee you want to aim the ult (if he engages) by starting the ultimate under the teammate he is engaging on, for peel purposes, and end it towards the rest of the enemy team so they would have to go around or take damage to capitalize with him.
Ahri
The way to beat Ahri is to make her run out of mana. You should start W level 1 because it will tank her Q as it flies to you and then make you fast so you can avoid the true damage as it flies back to her. You can bait out her Qs by pretending to run towards her and then running to the side. Do this to make her run out of mana or at levels 4-5 you can engage on her after she misses. When ahead of an Ahri you can tank her taunt if you have your Q up (also hitting her with your harpoons) and roast her while taunted to win trades. To win vs Ahri late game just don't get hit by her taunt and you should find plenty of opportunities to land 3-4 man ults during teamfights. Your boots 4 will be handy in this matchup.
Akali
The way to beat Akali is to start W level 1 and easily tank her slow poke. When you are going in for minions save your E to harpoon minions safely from a distance if you think she is going to try to proc her passive on you. At level 3-4 start all inning her landing both harpoons and then roasting her safely from a distance while also stopping her damage with your W. The best way to do this is to not let her land her auto attack and proc her passive on you. Beating Akali late game is pretty easy for rumble, just get the pink trinket and whenever she engages on someone drop your pink and combo her. Don't leave her unattended in fights because she is both squishy and an assassin so she should be your priority.
Alistar
To deal with an Alistar in teamfights most of the time all you need to do land both your harpoons on him. If he combos any of your back line champions you need to ult under your teammate to save them, they can use the slow/damage from your ultimate to take Alistar out or at least make him irrelevant past his combo. In this case you want to aim the ult under Alistar and aim it towards the enemy team because then they cannot follow up with him.
Amumu
To deal with an Amumu you need to realize that your damage will usually come after he engages. If he engages on your team then you need to immediately start the ult under him and then aim it towards the enemy team so they cannot follow up with him. To avoid dying to Amumu early game all you need to do is dodge his Q, usually pretty easy unless you make it easy for him by running in a straight line.
Anivia
The way to beat an Anivia in lane is to tank her long range auto attack by starting W level 1. They are long ranged auto attacks but they are slow. Learning to dodge Anivia stuns are a big part of winning this lane. You can usually bait them out by going in to auto a minion, she shoots it out to hit you, and then you E that minion safely from a distance. Post level 6 killing Anivia is easy with a little help because her passive is literally a deathtrap for your ultimate. Beating Anivia in teamfights is as easy as just waiting for that 3-4 man ult. Do not chase an Anivia or tower dive her early.
Annie
The way to beat Annie is just dealing with her in lane. You need to understand that this is probably Rumble's hardest match up because although you can usually beat her 1v1, if she gets any ganks and you aren't already by your tower then you're probably going to die. This match up is heavily in Annies favor for that reason. To beat Annie use your W and E to farm safely without losing too much health. Your W is good for blocking her Q. In teamfights make sure to do as much aoe damage as possible to counter her burst. Try to land your ult on her in teamfights because she will usually Roa and your % damage will really do a number on her.
Ashe
Typically in teamfights killing Ash is very easy. The best way to pin down and kill and Ash is by ulting her at the start of a fight and then watch as she tries to run off it for 2-3 seconds instead of actually auto attacking. If you are running towards her try to flash the Arrow or hit her with a harpoon before you get stunned. Doing this will make her escaping you very difficult. Typically in teamfights killing Ash is very easy.
Azir
The way to beat Azir is by starting W level 1 so you can tank his poke, E level 2 to farm from a distance, and then max Q so by level 4-5 you can start all inning him. If possible try to avoid his soldiers when chasing him down. If you can land poke on him without taking too much damage back that is better than taking most of his health for most of yours since he has more escape abilities than you. In teamfights just ult Azir because his ult is irrelevant as far as your ult is concerned. Landing harpoons on him during a fight is really good for making his few mobile abilities unhelpful so he can be chased down easily.
Bard
Land a harpoon on him and he dies to the rest of your team easily, just avoid getting stunned when chasing him by kiting instead of running at him in a straight line. Try dropping your ult before a Bard ult hurts you as some kind of free hourglass during teamfights. Its pretty funny and not that hard to do.
Blitzcrank
Typically getting grabbed by Blitz isn't the end of the world for Rumble because you can simply Ult+Q+Hourglass and turn it into the enemies demise. Hitting harpoons on Blitz is very important because it will allow you to chase him down with Q. If you miss harpoons on Blitz in teamfights and he is running away from you, just leave him alone because you missed your chance to kill him without chasing for 10 seconds. Your damage is more useful elsewhere. If you teammate gets caught keep an eye out for a good ultimate, if a Blitz lands his grab you can usually ult the rest of the enemy team.
Brand
The trick to beating a Brand 1v1 is to avoid his Aoe damage. It can he hard to dodge at first but with some practice you'll soon realize it's pretty easy to bait him to wasting his mana on nothing. Run at the minions because this way he cannot land his stun on you, then run back at the last second. This can make him waste his poke and consequently push the wave towards your tower as well. In teamfights your ult is very good vs Brand because he is immobile so make sure he is also hit by it. During ganks on Brand you want to hit him with your harpoons while also juking his stun for the kill.
Braum
Killing a Bard is pretty easy because he can't stun you without you letting him auto him. Just chase him down with double harpoons and he should be slow for days (ironic, right?). Your ultimate kind of ***** on his wall too. If a Bard ever jumps in front of an ally to shield him just ult under them both and it turns into both of their deathtraps.
Caitlyn
Killing Cait is easy if she is not near a tower. During teamfights just wait for, or bait, her to using her net and then ult her. As soon as she uses that net she is free food for Rumble's ultimate. Try not to go in on a Cait 1v1 unless you are going to hit her with both harpoons because shes going to own you with kite.
Cassiopeia
She is easy if you know how to dodge abilities. Dodging her Q renders her other abilities almost useless because she can't get her fangs off on you multiple times. If played right she is usually forced to use her pool to get poison off you, in which case you double harpoon and strut away laughing anyway. When going in for a kill on Cass post 6 start with your ultimate because it forces her to shoot off her ult early or die, face away at this time to avoid the stun. Pre 6 just dodge her dps and you'll win all trades. In teamfights make sure your ult is on Cassio because she has no escape and it might make her easy to pick off before she can do much for your team.
Cho'Gath
You are going to take damage from his silence because its an instant. You want to make sure he doesn't get his auto attack passive on you, if you can do that then he will have to spend all his mana trying to hurt you instead of getting it for free. Stand to the side of the minions to avoid getting silenced and take free damage as he farms. Late game Cho gets wrecked by your harpoons becauses hes big, slow, and pretty melee. Just double harpoon him in teamfights and he won't be able to contribute much until hes fast again and by that time the fight could be over.
Corki
Killing corki is easy if he is not near a tower. During teamfights just wait for, or bait, him by using his escape and then ult him. If you are trying to go all in on him try to studder on your way to him so you dodge his bomb. As soon as he uses his escape he can be free harpoon food for your team.
Darius
Beat Darius by starting W level 1 and tanking his spin. You win this lane by poking him outside of his auto attack range, tanking spin with W, and harpooning him if he grabs you so you can walk away relatively unscathed. Cloth 5 should keep you plenty healthy unless you get auto attacked a lot. Levels 4-5 you should engage on him because you can sustain it and hes going to run out of mana that way anyway. If he ever uses his grab and misses just keep engaging on him because it has a long cd, that free poke wins you lane.
Diana
Block all her poke with your W. Walk away from her when she has her shield up. Post level 6 save your ult for when she engages on you Pre level 6 you want to roast her from a distance so she has to waste her mana on her shield. Try to let her push the wave so you can't die to ganks but at the same time don't let her just stick you on your tower all day. The best place to have hold a Diana vs a Rumble is to keep the Diana close to your tower but far enough so the tower isn't shooting the minions. This forces her to extend. In teamfights ult her if she ults anyone on your team and it should usually result in her demise while also saving your ally.
Dr. Mundo
Killing him is hard because he will usually just Q farm from a distance. You can use your W to block cleavers when he tries to last h it minions and it will make him come closer to you so you can roast him. Make sure to go Rylais Liandries Voidstaff vs a Mundo team because you'll need it to provide damage for killing him later.
Draven
Dealing him is pretty easy, just remember your harpoons are more useful than your ult for killing him. If you straightup ult Draven he can easily speed off, however he can't really speed off getting harpooned twice. After landing both harpoons, ulting him makes for a dead Draaaaaaveeeeen. Don't 1v1 him unless you can land double harpoons or hes gona do what he does best and three shot you.
Elise
Elise isn't a huge problem for Rumble because he has a pretty good kit for dealing with her, solo lane or not. Start W to block her poke if you are against her. If you are against a jungle Elise then just use your ultimate to roast her if she gap closes on anyone in your team. Shes an engager and Rumble's ult is the ultimate engage punisher.
Evelynn
Your kit is really strong vs her 1v1. Just use your W to block her poke when going in for a cs. Eve is not countered by one harpoon, but two spread out ones. Hit her with one, she will speed up. Then hit her with the second one. If you can do this just ult and she dies because her escape is gone. In teamfights Eve usually likes to engage so save your ultimate for when she is trying to all in someone to peel your team and kill her. She has to be close to hurt someone so double harpoons are also really good against her in teamfights.
Ezreal
Killing Ez is actually pretty EZ. Just harpoon him so he has to use his escape and ult him so he is now escapeless and stuck on your ult. If he flashes you usually have to let him go because then you're chasing an Ezreal and that's always a bad idea. When against Ez in lane just start W to block 90% of his poke and don't take free autos. Losing half your cs to his full combo for one cs is a bad idea, lose some cs for the sake of keeping lane control out of his hands.
Fiddlesticks
Avoid his ults being on top of you and you should have no problem punishing him if he does use it on your team at any point of the game. Just ult under him and double harpoon him outside of his ult dps. As soon as his hourglass is over go all in on him. If you are 1v1 in lane just don't get drained like a dummy and watch out for his level 6 cheese. Fid mids always hide over the cliff by midlane at level 6 and try to one shot you.
Fiora
Cloth 5 and starting Q level 1 should give you a good combination of sustaining her until she ooms and trading back damage. Remember she gets health by auto attacking so just keep roasting her when she goes to cs to cancel that out. Post level 6 if she engage on you trying to one shot you just double harpoon/ultimate after she engages so she has to ult to get close to you again to keep hurting you. Then just stay on your ult so shes still slow after he ult is over and you can keep kiting back and roasting her from a distance. If a Fiora gets so fed she can one shot you off her ult cooldown just get an Hourglass and you are good.
Fizz
So easy to punish, so easy to kite, so easy to block his damage with W. If he ults you and engages just ult under yourself and he has to either die trying to kill you on your ult or he walks off and you can stand on it roasting him so he can't come and attack you back.
Galio
Boots 4 and W should keep you safe enough from Galio's poke. He ooms pretty easy. Don't use 2-3 ticks of fire on him while his shield is up. You have to full blown combo him if you want to do damage to Galio while his shield is up or you will just give him free health. When he ults your team just ult under him, he's tanky but he can't do much past his burst when stuck on your slow.
Gangplank
1v1 might be hard but your Cloth 5 and W level 1 should be enough to keep you healthy. Just make sure not to let your harpoon stay off cooldown often, you should be constantly poking him with your Q E so that he has to use his mana for his orange and less for poking you. In late game just double harpoon him to render him useless unless he burns his orange. If he burns his orange he should be easy for your team to kill. Your ultimate is also fantastic for peeling GP off your teammates.
Garen
Super easy, just stay outside of his auto attack/spin range. Stay to the side of minions so when he charges at you you can easily harpoon him. Try to save your harpoons for after he uses his Q. During ganks on a Garen a good strategy is to harpoon him once, he uses his Q to speed away, you harpoon him again and hes stuck slow. In teamfights just keep harpooning him because it will render him pretty useless, save your ult for the other champs because Garen isn't worth much, let alone your ultimate, late game.
Gnar
Stay behind minions to render his boomerang useless. When running at him it's hard to avoid the boomerang so what you do is you run at him getting hit by the boomerang with your W, then you run away, he will run after you and expose himself to getting double harpooned. Then you chase him down with your Q. Cloth 5 should be more than enough to sustain his damage just don't get autoed for no reason let alone letting him get his passive bonus damage on you. During teamfights you are just as useful as Gnar except to be as useful as you Gnar literally has to throw his own body at the enemy team and hit just as many people with his ult as you do. This makes him punishable in a way you are not. If he engages just ult him starting the ult under him and aiming it towards the enemy team.
Gragas
1v1 Gragas can be annoying if you let him hit you with all his dashes. Just try to bait him into dashing into nothing and stay outside of his auto attack range. If you do this then he cannot get his main damage ability off on you and he just burned his escape so now hes free poke food. You can usually hit him with two rotations of your Q if he dashes next to you instead of into you. In teamfights hit Gragas with harpoons to keep him off your teammates, as long as he is slow from your harpoons and his dash is between cooldowns then he is irrelevant for that teamfight.
Graves
Graves is really easy to kill, just harpoon him and stay outside his auto attack range. He will then either dash to you to kill you, in which case you just harpoon again/ult and laugh as he loses all his health, or he will dash away, in which case you follow up another harpoon alongside your ultimate and you earn yourself a kill. Don't let him dash to you without getting ulted by you because otherwise instead of getting a kill, you die.
Hecarim
Stay out of his helicopter and poke him with your fire from a distance and his only way of hurting you is to engage on you. This may do some damage to you but this allows you to easily double harpoon him in the face and then hit him with two rotations of your Q. Just don't auto attack him unless necessary because that puts you in range to getting both autoed and spun on. Hecarim is really useless after getting harpooned twice and he usually has to use his ult to get anywhere once that happens. Late game you want to use your ult under the teammate he engages on so they can kill him with both your damage and slow from the ultimate. Harpoon Hecarim in teamfights as well because as fast as he is, landing double harpoons on Hecarim is hilarious to watch because even with the speedup he goes nowhere.
Heimerdinger
Heimer is countered by anyone that knows his turrets weakness. When Heimers turrets are at full charge they have longer range right? Just walk towards his turrets when they are at full charge and they will shoot in a straight line to you, dodge those lazers and they lose a lot of their heavy damage. Harpoon the turrets from a distance. If you kill off any of Heimers turrets then just remember he is very squishy vs a Rumble and just all in him, using your ultimate before he stuns you so that by the time you are able to move again he will already be half dead from your Q + ult. In teamfights ulting Heimer is hilarious because your ult does not know what a Heimer turret is and he will lose so much health. Avoiding the Heimer stun when engaging on him with a sidestep is also very useful for winning early game.
Irelia
Better nerf Irelia? Nah, shes not that bad. Just double harpoon her every time she goes in on you and face her with your Q when she is about to stun you, you won't miss out on doing damage to her that way. If she uses her dash to you instead of a minion next to you and then tries to fight you just feel good about that because she just burned her escape and consequently you can burn her down with two rotations of your Q damage, preferably outside of her auto attack range so its free damage to her. In teamfights just use your double harpoons to give her that massive slow and render her useless. If she ends up engaging on your main carries ult under her immediately so your teammates can use your ult to peel.
Janna
How to kill a Janna. 1) harpoon her. 2) Get nadoed 3) harpoon her again 4) get ulted 5) ult her 6) she flashes 7) you flash and kill off. That first harpoon means everything, if you miss it don't waste your time on her.
Jarvan IV
Cloth 5 will allow you to survive vs a Jarvan 1v1 in lane. In lane all you have to do is sidestep the knockup and tank his poke with your W. If he E Qs to you just double harpoon him and punish him outside of his auto attack range so as to not take free damage. You don't have to auto attack him to poke him down, its better if you don't. If against a jungle Jarvan just ward up or be really good at side stepping his E Q. If you get Jarvan ulted then ult under yourself between you and your escape route to walk out after he wears off.
Jax
If he ever jumps on you just double harpoon him in the face and punish him with two rotations of your Q. If you see him charging up his stun just hit your W Q and face him before he lands on you to tank half the damage and return the same damage. After stunned drop both harpoons and trade him for 3-4x more damage than he gave to you. Cloth 5 should be your best friend in this matchup.
Jayce
Jayce is easy or hard depending on how well you are at avoiding getting poked. Most Jayce's will try to poke you the most with his AOE on the minion wave while you try to farm. Just know this and bait it out by farming with your E from a distance sometimes. A lot of the time he will run out of mana before you run out of potions. If you make it to level 6 without too many bruises then you win lane because your ult destroys him. He can knock you back but if he ever uses his jump on you then he just burned his only way of getting off your ult and you can burn him to crisps.
Jinx
Killing her is easy because all you have to do in teamfights is ult her and she spend the next 3 seconds trying to get off. This makes her positioning as the fight progresses very easy to take advantage of for your team. If your divers go in on her and they don't have the damage to one shot her, just ult and it will finish her off. Charging in on a Jinx with Rumble can be sketch if you get hit by the Zap, getting snared is ok as long as you land harpoons on her. Landing both harpoons on her usually results in a kill in this 1v1, even late game.
Kalista
Contrary to other AD carries, Kalista is consistently slippery as compared to having one burnable escape. Hitting Kalista with double harpoons is her kryptonite. Doing so in teamfights will make it very easy for your team to pin her down with their skillshot CC abilities. If anyone lands any good ccs on Kalista just drop your ult immediately as it will make it hard for her to use her constant dashes in the correct direction to get away from your divers. If you are in a 1v1 with Kalista your harpoons will be your best friend. If you are running away, landing both of them will let you escape. If you are running to her, landing both will let you kill her.
Karma
The trick to killing Karma with Rumble is landing both your harpoons on her. Even if she roots you landing both harpoons will render all that kiting and running around she does about 80% slower. Do not ult a Karma unless it is going to let your team catch her because all shes going to do is use her speed boost and then shield to pretty much negate everything, leaving you crying. Remember, harpoons.
Karthus
Karthus is easy to take on for Rumble if you dodge around his Qs until level 4. At level 4 you will have plenty of damage to out trade him if you decide to all in. Typically getting into a Karthus players head is easy so you can dodge all his Qs. I typically run towards the Karthus in a straight line and it usually results in him shooting the Q WAY behind me, they think you're going to try and run back to dodge it all the time, use that to your advantage. Late game you want to use your ultimate at least partly on Karthus because he has no escapes and your slow might be enough to peel him off doing anything useful against your team. Please don't overextend too much vs a Karthus because if he lands that slow on you, even if you're dodging all his Qs then his jungler is going to wreck you.
Kassadin
Start W level 1 to tank his Q that he always starts with level 1. Use your W to keep pretty much all of Kassadin's damage off you until he gets his ultimate. You can start all inning him level 4 and up, just be sure to always use your W top stop his poke or you're going to be too low to take him on. When dealing with a Kassadin late game you want to double harpoon him right after he uses his ultimate so that he is pretty much immobile until his next ultimate is ready. This makes it much easier to kill Kassadin for your team. Don't ult Kassadin unless he is trying to assassinate your teammate because he is just going to R off and make you waste your ****.
Katarina
Start W level 1. Tank her Q with your W. Don't get spun on after blocking her poke with your W and eventually she will start trying to use her escape on you to do damage. If she ever does that just aim your harpoons careful and hit her twice. Then roast her *** outside of her attack or spin range and you can do a lot of free damage that way. If you run back after this exchange then she will usually run back towards you to Q again, let her, use W, and roast her again. In teamfights use your ultimate under her if she uses her escape trying to all in your team and you can usually burst her before she kills anyone unless they are already low.
Kayle
Pretty strong vs Rumble unless you are exceptional at deciding what cs is worth csing and which ones are going to cost you half your health. Use your harpoons to peel him off you, even if you are slow and his E is up harpooning him will let you walk away from him and save you a ton of health. In teamfights against a Kayle all you have to do is hit your ultimate on as many people as possible. This will usually confuse Kayle and make it unclear on who he should ult, also it counters his ult because if you land your ult on 3-4 people and he can only shield himself... well you do the math.
Kennen
The trick to beating Ken is two things. 1) Don't get autoed for free, use your W to block his autos. 2) Don't get Qd. It should be plenty easy to dodge these Qs or use minions to stand in the way of them. In teamfights Rumble is very strong vs Ken because although you have no CC to stop him from flash ulting, aiming your ult starting under him and aimed towards his teammates will turn Ken's perfect engage into his own teams deathtrap.
Kha'Zix
Khazix is like a riven with only one big jump instead of 4 small ones. If he jumps on you just double harpoon him in the face and then roast his *** twice because it has a long cooldown. When chasing down a Khazix make sure he cannot auto attack you for free unless you know he can't kill you. In a teamfight landing your ult under Khazix alongside a pink trinket makes him just play on the defensive all day. You want that. Target a Khazix with Rumble all day and save your team the trouble because your kit is really strong against him.
Kog'Maw
Killing Kog (AP mid or not) is all about that Rumble ultimate into hitting your harpoons. Your ultimate will set up any Kog into dying because he has no escape and if you pin him correctly then he has two choices, flash or die. If you are vs AP kog mid just get your happy feet on because as long as you are dodging his abilities you are going to win. If it's AD Kog try to CC him and keep him pinned down for your team. If you want to kill an AD Kog on your own just land that ultimate and hit both harpoons, otherwise you should probably back off because he does hurt.
LeBlanc
Dealing with a Leblanc is all about how well you deal with her early game. Start W level 1 to stop her damage, level 2 watch out for her burst. Let her hit you with her Q and stop it with your W but don't let her proc her bonus damage. If you kite backwards a lot of the time this will result in Leblanc wasting mana. If she has 1/3 mana or less by level 4 just all in her because she can't even use all her spells anyway. If you all in her just hit her with a harpoon before she gets a chance to use her escape, and then when she jumps she will be easy to hit with a second harpoon, side step her root and you should win the trade easily. Late game just use your heavy dmg harpoons on her to negate her from dominating fights with pressure, you want to poke her if she goes in to poke anyone on your team. Rush Abyssal > Sorc Shoes > Guise vs a Leblanc.
Lee Sin
If he is in a solo lane vs you then dodging his Qs by hiding behind minions is easy, and your kite makes it easy to punish him when he farms. If you are vs a Lee jungle then just dodge his Qs using your W ms speedup and you should always be home free. If he lands his Q on you just shoot your harpoon at him while hes flying to you and he won't be able to do much to you once he connects. Post level 6 if lee ganks and lands a Q on you then flash the second he is supposed to connect. He will sometimes flash too and just burn it, otherwise he will kick you to safety.
Leona
Leona is easily delt with by Rumble by landing your harpoons because if she Es to someone you'll always know where to shoot. Leona is ulting anyone on your team, including you, use your ult under that person to make ccing that player much harder for Leona. If you aim your ult under your ccd teammate and aim it towards the rest of Leona's team then you will seclude the Leona to be potentially nuked because her team won't be able to help her in a timely manner due to your ult. Hourglass helps a lot vs a Leona team because if she engages on you then just ult + Q + glass.
Lissandra
To beat Lissandra with Rumble you need to avoid taking much Q damage by staying clear from the minions. If she comes to Q you, side step it and then drop your harpoons on her, if you land both then just chase her as she tries to escape because you'll be able to roast her so easily. During teamfights your harpoons are good vs Lissandra because they do tons of damage since she stays so squishy. In teamfights,. after she engages drop your ultimate under her and aim it towards her team. Yes she will have hourglass and her ultimate but this separates her from her team and makes her easy to single out and one shot as soon as shes done buying time. Also if her team wants to capitalize with her they will have to run across your ult.
Lucian
Drop your harpoon on him, when he is slow he will dash. Then ult and drop another harpoon on him, chasing him for the kill. Keep an eye on Lucien during teamfights, as soon as he dashes he is very vulnerable to your ultimate.
Lulu
Lulu's damage is very dodgeable, even if she has help pix on you dodging her Q damage is possible if you kite around randomly when it's on you. Dodging Lulu's Q damage is how you win this lane. Dodge her with Q and position yourself to hit her with both harpoons then just have your way with her. At a 7 seconds cooldown missing her Q is a big deal in this matchup. During teamfights Lulu's ultimate can be very annoying but at the same time very backwards for her team because if her team all ins your team just look for that 4-5 man ult. They will think they are gods with Lulu's ult and not realize Rumble's ult does not care about how many people they have diving your Xerath. Rumble's ult is all about EQUALity if-you-will. The damage can be massive.
Lux
Beating Lux is easy, just dodge the snares. If she tries to poke you down just use your W to block most of it. Typically running at Lux and dodging her snare is a good way of taking tons of her health/mana down. The trick to beating Lux is forcing her to shield and as soon as she shoots it off you back off her, letting her waste mana. She has high mana costs early and you are Rumble with zero mana costs, and she has no escape. Just keep baiting her.
Malphite
The trick to winning this matchup is starting W level 1 so he cant boulder you for any damage. Then the only way hes going to hurt you is walking up to groundslam. If he tries to do that just double harpoon him in the face and roast him, he will try to groundslam you anyway and in most cases you can just walk away having done tons of damage and taking none yourself. In teamfights the second Malphite ults anyone on your team just use your ultimate under him and aim it towards the enemy team so they can't capitalize on it.
Malzahar
Post level 6 you don't want to get close to Malz if you don't know where his jungler is because of that ultimate/burst combo. Pre level 6 you can tank Malzahar pretty easy by stopping most of his E damage with your W and dodging his Qs. Sometimes you can mess up Malzahar's farming early game by letting him E the minion wave and then running straight at him so he can't use his auto attacks to make sure his aids bounce from minion to minion. When getting a gank against a Malzahar try to land both harpoons, if he then flashes just ult under him and he should die.
Maokai
To beat Maokai with Rumble in lane just dodge his poke. If you side step his poke then he has to use a lot of mana to get any effective damage on you, he also has to use his escape to do it so you can use that to bait him into his own death during a jungler gank. Level 4-5 is your best bet to trading with Maokai during lane because of that level 3 fire damage, and we all know how trees do vs fire. Post level 6 if Maokai goes in on you just harpoon and ult immediately to stack the slow with your ultimate. In teamfights if Maokai engages on anyone on your team just use your ultimate to peel for them. Star the ultimate on Maokai after he engages and end it towards his team so they cannot capitalize on his catch, usually resulting in his death too.
Master Yi
If you're against a Yi in lane just double harpoon him in the face when he engages and make sure to use your W to stop his Q damage when he uses it on minions. To deal with a Yi late game you need to burst him. Obviously you can't expect your ultimate to be useful against a Yi right? Wrong. If Yi is engaging on someone on your team just ult under that teammate. Yi will either have to try and ignore your ult damage, sometimes resulting in his death, or he will have to back off that teammate. Try to save your harpoons for after his ult timer runs out and he is free food.
Miss Fortune
Drop your ultimate on MF at any point in the game and she is suddenly running from 480 to 280. Shes escapeless squishy and running at 280? G_G dead MF. Harpoons are also amazing vs MF. Before a teamfight I always try to land my harpoon on MF because if you have Liandries then it takes her forever to get her movespeed back up. When an MF ults is also a good opportunity to ult her with Rumble because she has to cancel it early to eat the damage.
Mordekaiser
New Mordekaiser is pretty hard in lane because hes going to poke you down with relative ease. Use W to stop his E early game and try to stand away from the minions so when he walks out to E you you can just E him back and chase him with fire, just don't let him Q you when you do that. It's pretty hard to win trades vs Morde so just be sneaky and don't expect to keep engaging and winning trades. In teamfights you want to use your harpoon on Mordekaiser to make him relatively irrelevant. He is slow and melee so it's pretty easy to make this happen. Don't ult Mordekaiser in teamfights alone, you want your ult to hit more people than that or pick a target that's actually going to take damage. If Mordekaiser is engaging on your teammate then feel free to use your ult on him to peel for the ally.
Morgana
Mostly a free farm lane which is fine. Just don't get binded. Dodging binds can be easy but getting hit by a few can get in your head pretty quick so be careful not to tilt. If she walks up to you and ults you just drop your ultimate and both harpoons + your Q while all along hiding in and out of minions so you can possibly juke the incoming snare as soon as her ult stun hits. In teamfights when a Morg engages she will usually have hourglass so use your harpoons before she glasses and then your ultimate after she glasses to win teamfights.
Nami
When killing a Nami drop your harpoons, side step the bubble, and ult her. Please try to side step the bubble because it's pretty easy.
Nasus
A well played Nasus won't let you lane vs him for long until he starts farming in the jungle. Early game try to let him push by just last hitting minions instead of poking him. By the time you have level 2-3 then he should be pushed towards your tower and easily punished by your constant spam. Try to let the minions stay closer to your tower for as long as possible because this lets the matchup stay easily in your favor. When you poke him try to kite him away from his minions and use your abilities without auto attacking the wave because it manipulates the wave back towards his tower. Late game just make sure you double harpoon Nasus so he can't stay close enough to your teammates to kill them. Lastly, when the wave is close to your tower and a friendly jungler comes just land both harpoons and you'll see how much his wither matters at that point.
Nautilus
Killing Nautilis is easy with Rumble because landing harpoons into ulting a Nautilis is easy since he is so big. Even with boots 5 landing harpoon is easy and with his boots 5 negated chasing him with your slows and fire should make it easy. If he engages on a teammate late game just ult under him so your team can kite off him easily.
Nidalee
This should be a farm lane until Nidalee tries to go in on her own terms. To win this lane with relative ease you need to avoid spears at all costs. Run behind your minions, if she goes around just man up and stay behind the minions, don't let her bluff you into getting speared. As long as you are behind minions you win all trades. If you are against Nidalee jungle and you get hit by a spear early, you might have to use your flash to save yourself from dying. During teamfights target Nidalee after the fight has already started because if you can manage to get on top of her with your harpoons and ultimate you'll almost always nuke her.
Nocturne
Against Nocturne you want to remember that he has a spell shield and your harpoons counter it because you get two of them. If a Nocturne engages on your team just remember to ult who he lands on immediately so they can use your ult damage + slow to peel and even kill Nocturne in the process for free. Other than that Nocturne isn't a huge problem for Rumble and you have both good peel and damage if he ever tries anything so you make him pretty irrelevant in teamfights.
Nunu & Willump
Killing Nunu isn't possible with Rumble unless you land both harpoons and your team helps. Otherwise later in the game when he has 160 mr and 3100 hp you shouldn't waste your ultimate or summoners on him. If you can get damage on him outside of a teamfight then by all means go for it, just don't waste your ult unless its guaranteeing you a kill. Don't waste time on him in teamfights unless you have a chance of bursting him down for a quick pick with your team. 1v1 is a free farm lane.
Olaf
Olaf is kind of tough for Rumble, dodging his axes can be hard for beginner Rumbles and it could be your downfall. To win this matchup you need to know how to dodge most of his Axes because it's the only way hes really going to be able to take you on. If you can get around that then you win this matchup every time. Cloth 5 helps vs Olaf. Early Sorc shoes is not recommended because you should put that in hp instead unless you are dodging axes.
Orianna
Just keep running at her and keep faking her out to make her lose her mana trying to poke you and missing. The easiest way to beat an Orianna early is kiting around the minions and hitting her with a harpoon. Run at her and she will shield herself, just run back and after a few times of doing this she will oom and be free food. She ooms much faster than most matchups and that's pretty easy for a Rumble to take advantage of. In teamfights just drop your harpoon on her. A good trick in teamfights late game as Rumble vs Orianna is to engage on her and then hourglass her ultimate, it wastes her ult and takes her health almost all the way down too. Have fun with this one, I know I always do.
Pantheon
To beat mantheon all you gotta do is start W level 1. You burn his spears and consequently his mana bar as well. Get E level 2 so that you can farm from a distance while your W is on cooldown and save yourself that constant poke. By stopping that poke and making it to level 4-5 relatively unharmed you can start all inning him. If he ever jumps on you just double harpoon him in the face, take a few steps out of his auto attack range, and burn him for two rotations of his Q while also avoiding getting auto attacked. Beating a Pantheon late game with Rumble is extremely easy. All you have to do is aim the ult starting where his ult is about to land and aim it on the ally that you think he is going to jump to, he will literally jump on your ult and die trying to assassinate your teammate.
Poppy
Beating Poppy in lane is easy, just don't get pinned against the wall and don't let her poke you with her charged auto for free. Roast her when she goes to cs and watch her positioning to make sure she's not trying to walk around and pin you with her cc. During teamfights if she is charging in with her ultimate just ignore her completely and wreck her team because that's what shes going to be doing to yours. Keep an eye on her ult timer and be ready to save your teammates if they're still alive with your harpoons because they do pretty well vs a Poppy during teamfights as far as peeling for your team.
Quinn
Winning lane is all about landing those double harpoons as often as possible because it makes her very immobile. Going Dorans in this matchup is way harder than going Cloth 5 because you'll need that sustain. Use W to block a lot of her poke if you are good with positioning. You will lose this lane if you run at her roasting the minions trying to hit her with two ticks of fire. You need to kite from the side and land those harpoons and turn her into roast duck. Later in the game when you have more AP hitting her with one let alone two harpoons not only counters her ultimate but shreds her health hard.
Rammus
Facing a Rammus jungle with Rumble is pretty easy besides early game. You have to hit Rammus with your harpoons at max range is a good repellent because hitting Rammus at max range with your harpoons allows you to also hit him with a second one before he gets his cc off on you and you'll usually be able to walk to safety. In teamfights if he engages on any of your teammates just drop your ultimate. Aim it by starting it under him and towards the enemy team because this will single him out and allow him to be bursted even as Rammus.
Rek'Sai
Reksai is kind of a pain early because you don't have your ultimate yet. After you get your ultimate then Reksai engaging on you is not the biggest deal because you just drop your ult before he knocks you up and you can walk away and sometimes even kill him. Pre level 6 if he ganks you you're going to have to side step him making his tunnel. Remember his gap closer is uncontrollable for him once he starts it so it's easy to sidestep. If you can side step his knockup and then harpoon him in the face then he can't kill you and you don't even have to burn flash. In teamfights late game if he engages on anyone just ult under the teammate hes trying to kill and the slow + damage will be more than enough to save your team and kill him at the same time.
Renekton
Easy matchup if you go cloth 5. Just start W level 1 because he will probably start with his aoe and this will allow you to tank it without losing health. He will typically try to get level 2 and cheese you for half your health so keep that in mind and be prepared to be further back and earn your level 2 with safety. If he uses his gap closer to you just hit him with a harpoon, hit your W, and face him with your Q for when he stuns. He will do almost no damage, take more, and dash away. If you can do it still hit him with the second harpoon and chase him down for tons of Q damage while his gap closer is on cd. You scale much harder than Renekton for teamfights, especially if he goes AD. In teamfights just harpoon him to make him more irrelevant and use your ultimate on his team so he is forced to play passive and peel.
Rengar
To beat Rengar in lane you just have to stay away from the bushes early game otherwise he's going to **** on you. By level 4 you can let him jump on you if you position yourself away from minions and you can harpoon him twice in the face and chase him into the bush. Its best to not play on his terms as far as the bushes go but if you don't burn his potions by fighting back then you aren't going to be able to cs. Just wait until level 4 to start fighting back and farm safely with your E until then. Late game he will try to assassinate your teammates, ult under the teammate he ults or ult the enemy team during teamfights and just harpoon Rengar when he jumps.
Riven
Typically a hard matchup but it can be made to be easier. Riven has poor natural hp/5 so any damage you put on her is going to stay with her. The trick to beating riven is not letting her cheese you level 1-2 for half your health by keeping a good distance from her and then poking her with a tick of fire from a safe distance and harpoon here and there. Poking her down is fairly easy early game but it gets harder after she gets items. You need to go Armguard into Ruby Crystal vs Riven or shes going to be able to one shot you easily. As far as teamfights go Riven can be 0/1 or 3/1 and she's still going to kill anyone on your team with poor positioning if they're squishy. You need to group very well when vs a Riven and make engaging for her result in getting her and her team stuck in your teams AOE. Save harpoons for Riven during teamfights, prioritize bursting her first whenever you can otherwise say bye bye to your squishes.
Rumble
I'm not giving anything away on this matchup until i get my 1v1 mirror matchup against Dyrus.
Ryze
Counter Ryze's poke level 1 by starting with your W. His Qs are on a low cd but so are your Ws so take advantage of that. Ryze has good poke if you let him combo you so try to bait him into running forward into double harpoons. Do this a few times to start stacking some decent damage on him while avoiding getting too close. Level 4-5 you can start all inning him and winning trades but you have to hit both harpoons to do so. In teamfights late game you want to focus Ryze by hitting him with both harpoons to make his mobility reflect his escape potential, nonexistant. In teamfights you want to ult Ryze by starting the ult under him and aiming it to the rest of his team. Typically when vs Ryze you will be ulting both Ryze and his diving jungler. It's ok to only ult two players if it means saving your teammates with peel.
Sejuani
Getting ganked by Sej usually isn't a huge deal because you can harpoon her while running and it typically gets you away from getting engaged on pre 6. Post level 6 doing this same tactic will force her to ult you or let you go. If she ults you try to drop your ult under yourself before you get stunned but I understand it's a very fast ultimate so that might be hard. As long as you are tanky enough by the time you get ulted you should still be able to ult yourself a path between you and your tower and surviving the burst usually means you aren't going to die if you ult correctly. In teamfights whenever Sej uses her dash into your team just burst her with everything, it's ok to burn ult/ignite on Sejuani if it lets your team burst her quickly. If she is too tanky to burst then use your ult to do aoe damage instead of using it to assassinate a pig that's too big.
Shaco
Dying to Shaco ganks are hard to avoid but Rumbles kit makes it pretty easy to peel him off yourself once he is on top of you. Just hit him with one harpoon to make sure you don't waste time you could be spending running by shooting a second harpoon, one is enough. If he drops a box in front of you feel free to walk around it if you land the harpoon on Shaco because even with the slow on you your slow is much stronger so just run your *** away. You can't really ward against a Shaco because the second you think you are safe he is coming in from a different angle. In teamfights if Shaco dives a teammate just ult under him because even if he uses his ult your ult will just kill both anyway. This works as good peel and Shaco is usually squishy late game so this makes your life pretty easy.
Shen
Tank his poke easily by going W level 1. Level 2 you can make sure you punish him for trying to auto you and proc his passive for himself by Eing him as he approaches and leaves with his tail between his legs and no health. Level 3 you can start engaging on him just do this one thing for me please.. You need to make sure he does not auto you. After he taunts into you just W some of the damage and double harpoon him in the face. Then what you need to do is walk backwards and then get out of his auto attack range and then roast him with two rotations of your Q for free. If you do this then you will shred his health and not take too much yourself. In teamfights just wreck his health after you get a void and add him to the pile of people you aoe with your ult. In teamfights if he lands taunt on one of your carries ult him so they can peel off him and it helps kill him too.
Shyvana
Punish her when she farms and keep her off your nuts by harpooning her when she comes at you. In teamfights your double harpoons alone can keep her off your allies even after she ults to them. Use your ultimate to peel for your teammates if necessary but it usually won't be.
I'm RumbleMidGG, hopefully I'm correct in saying I am the best Rumble mid in the world and one of the best Rumbles in the world. I am currently Challenger in the NA server maining mostly Rumble midlane. Rumble is great vs just about every midlane because his kit allows him to potentially counter almost every single champion midlane based on how you play with him per champion. I know a lot of players won't only play Rumble mid for serious ranked games but normals as well so I added matchups with literally every champion available, however the advice goes for both ranked and normals, top or mid. Lets get started.

Runes
Runes
Just use these, sometimes you'll see me trade out the Glyphs for Flat AP and the Seals for flat health, this is for AD matchups specifically. However, your MR and Armor is my go to for any matchup.
Masteries
Masteries
These are fantastic masteries, there is little reason to ever change these for any matchup or any reason.
Items
Items
I give what to buy for most matchups in my explanations on the other part of the guide but you can generally do this. AD Cloth 5 into Armguard/Ruby Crystal. Then go Sorc shoes into Rylais Liandries, into whatever makes sense from there. AP Boots 4 into Liandries into Sorc shoes. Then go Rylais and Void if you need to do more damage, glass if you need more survivability, or Deathcap for fun most of the time works too.
Ranked Play and General Strategy
Ranked Play and General Strategy
I will add YouTube videos showing this if necessary but for now here is the super simple lowdown about how to carry yourself as a Rumble player.
How to farm with Rumble in lane
Earn your ability to farm well with Rumble by leveling W level 1, blocking poke and auto attacks as you go in to last hit minions. At level 2 you get E so that you can farm minions easily from as distance while your W is on cooldown and vice versa. This lets you farm and not be very far behind in CS. Remember, Rumble typically has 20% less farm than his lane opponent but can always make it up by dominating teamfights and objective control such as dragon.
When to be aggressive in lane
You can typically be aggressive with Rumble level 4 in most matchups in order to get them off your back and let you farm even more easily. By level 5 you should be able to take mostly anyone on 1v1 if you are able to dodge your enemy lane opponent's CC of skill shot damage. Earn your victory by knowing when to be aggressive, level 5 is the best time.
How to earn your potential to roam
If you play your early game right understand that you need to force your lane opportunities, if at level 5 you are able to be aggressive successfully then you should shove the wave at level 6 and then try to roam somewhere with your ultimate. You have a few choices, either sneak into the enemy jungle and kill them with your combo/ignite to one shot almost any jungler from full when you are level 6 and they are level 4-5. Otherwise you can easily just roam botlane and shoot an ult from the sky they usually don't see coming, even in higher Elos. The Rumble ultimate is so good for roaming botlane that I try to roam bot off cooldown. Just imagine being a lowly support botlane and getting ulted by a Rumble every 100 seconds. Its beautiful, try it. I show how to do it on my stream @ http://www.twitch.tv/rumblemidgg
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros Everything if you are good Cons: Everything if you are bad
I'm not telling you the obvious hes bad at farming and hes good in teamfights because if played right you can compensate for most of his pitfalls.
This might seem blunt but take it from me, this champ has extremely high and low potential. This is based on personal Rumble knowledge.
Farming
Farming
As easy as 1, 2, 3
W level 1 helps you farm and not die to poke.
E level 2 helps you farm from a safe distance and still last hit minions well.
Q level 3 helps you start fending off the enemies so you can farm with peace
Life's easy boys, you just have to know that. Not everyone hits the lotto, but that's only because they don't know how to win the game. Learn to win the game and everything else will make itself work out on its own. This is life, and League is no different.
