poppy hard counters but be carefull of his Q sweet spots
Stay safe never go below 50% hp or she will murder you! first dash can be blocked with w so you will mostly always escape
Early game really annoying with poke, after your gauntlet nothing just dive his ass.
Skill matchup, if u w her stun she cant kill u but IF you don't stun her in a will she will wreck u.
Cho' Gath has no kill pressure, but u don't have kill pressure either. build some MR and you are ready to go. but he will out scale you really hard so try to be useful early game instead of endgame
Darius was the HARDEST counter to Poppy, until u understand his kit. dash to him when he uses his q and q him and disengage. early game still a high thread.
Mundo is pretty boring nothing to say about that... he stacks armor you stack armor and endgame u will dominate team fights with your cc.
This guy is just tilting till you have 1 complete MR item. he wont do dmg and u will still practically one-shot his ass.
This is one of the only champs who is able to duel ur ass without losing hp. never engage on her without your jungler she will most likely parry your stun in the wall en destroy you!
Galio, poke for days... adaptive help and its over :) enjoy free lane.
He wont kill you unless you try to kill him. he will be active on the map with his ult so try and roam a lot since his lategame is insane! but you will never win the trades with him... walls are useless because orange.
he will do more dng than you ( even if you build full tank ) and he can just q e you while you actually have to hit a wall while he can jsut w your dmg ( this is the main reasson why im playing conquerer poppy now to find some counterplay )
adeptive helm and Merch threats, before that farm with your passive and q fairly ez matchup after you get 5 points in q
goes trough your passive shield like butter so care you wont have it for long
block ALL of his dmg with w except for his r and u will win every trade/all in just care for his q poke every like 5 seconds

Kayle is a hard matchup if you dont kill her early, look to take long trades after she uses her Q or W
annoying guy lots of poke but is really weak lately just get merch threads for the stuns and mess him up with sheen
kled is super strong, try to dodge his Q and take trades when you do otherwise just disengage, tabi's / bramble are a must
you know the ap malphite, he outscales pretty hard...
Your Q will do insane dmg... but this guy is unkillable with his passive and his massive HP u wont be able to outpoke him. don't waste your mana, just outfarm him and try to make plays on the map!
no counterplay sorry he kills you b4 your q animation is over
cant beat him at any point, just avoid fighting him whenever you can, and try to make sure he doesnt beat you up
YOu shitstomp him pre 6, after its a close matchup so make sure you get a lead.
He can run you down and there is nothing you can do about it. even if he get 2 kills on you in lane you outscale at 2 items
he wont kill you ever... you will just poke and w his r in teamfights and he will be useless ^^

Annoying as hell until you stacked some armor. early game farming under tower after 6 you will win most trades!
renekton is a fun matchup which is easy to deal with as long as you can trade back into him and get tabi's, be carefull of his rage.
Riven got overbuffed while poppy is getting left out. Dont fight her you wont win unless you can all in her for a oneshot. still tho, matchup is quite easy whenever you know how to beat it, carefull, lost of outplay potential on both sides.
cant be beaten ask for jgl pressure even adeptive helm doesnt work against him.
ap shaco + boxes, you get the idea
Shen cant kill you alone, u can push him out his R with your E or R, but still he is a threat since he is so strong overall. In your lane phase you will most likely push him under tower.
Just Q spam him and passive. its easy game.
E him out of his Q or run our with W and you are good in this matchup.
cant beat him just farm and let your adc kill him late. he is useless when not fed
if he eats you you are dead, just wait ganks and poke him with passive just farm u will outscale easilly
stack some armor against him and care for him pre 6 after that its free as fuck since u can block his q with your w
anoying little hamster... just get tabi's and adeptive helm and your fine against the guy, go iceborn after that for the killpressure
This guy is a freaking TROLLKING! you will never be able to 1v1 him except if he took some bad trades and trust me IT WILL BE FREAKING CLOSE! so care and wait for your jungler!
easiest matchup possible for poppy if he hits the wall wait with w till he dashes its a long dash so your reflexes can actaully be terrible and still stun him up just care to kite him with q when he r's level 1 is insanely strong but after randuin + tabi he cant even get close to hurting you
You cant beat him in lane, midgame or lategame. try to roam or just soak the lane, its tough but try to look for tp plays
hard matchup, especially early impossible, but after 6 quite doable, be carefull for dives

anmoying guy just play it safe and stack armor.
quite an okay matchup, after he gets his W toggle it gets pretty hard, but with grasp / passive proqs you should be completely fine trading with him
unbeatable, its kinda whatever
he can ult your E and R
Together with her you can lock the enemie in place for so freaking long
You can dive so hard with elise/poppy combo wiht insane burst and cc
with her ult and your ult you can lock people into play so long
You can't die, deal a shit ton of AOE DPS its kinda insane
Champion Build Guide
I'm Boppy a Diamond player with over 1.5 million mastery points on Poppy. I'm a starting youtuber/twitch streamer and live in the Netherlands. some of my friends who play Poppy told me i should make video's and guides about how to play Poppy, and well let's be honest this guide looks like sh*t xD.
I started playing League in preseason 7 ( end of season 6 ) so season 8 was my first real ranked experience and i got Platinum 2. I have been investing all my time in studying matchups about Poppy played against other OTP's searched the forums and obviously practice what i love to do; stomping people with Poppy.
I would say Poppy is the only thing that makes me play league and probably will be. She is a fun champ who aint hard to play but just like Riven or Yasuo has a high skillcap. You will see the clear diffrence between a poppy main and some mastery 4 Poppy.
Poppy is a versatile champion who can play in any role ( except adc that is just troll :P ) with a lot of build types; like bruiser, tank, support and even assassin. Cooldown: 16 / 12 / 8 Range: 475
Poppy periodically throws her buckler on her next basic attack, granting it bonus range and 20-180 bonus magic damage (based on level), and causing the shield to fall near her target, where it remains for up to 4 seconds.
If Poppy picks up the buckler, she shields herself for 15 / 17.5 / 20% of her maximum Health for 3 seconds. Enemies can step on the buckler to destroy it.
If the buckler kills its target, it bounces back to Poppy and automatically shields her.
Use this shield to trigger your Grasp of the Undieing or your Conquerer every 10 seconds on the enemy laner, its good for trading and for farming from a range
Hammer Shock - Q
Cooldown: 8 / 7 / 6 / 5 / 4 Cost: 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 Range: 430
Poppy smashes the ground in front of her, dealing 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) (+7% of target's maximum Health) physical damage to all enemies hit.
The impacted ground becomes unstable, slowing enemies that are standing on it by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% before erupting after 1 second, dealing the same physical damage to all enemies hit.
This ability is your main dmg due to your %HP dmg. You use it to farm and to trade in lane. Due to its low mana cost u can spam it all day long.
Steadfast Presence - W
Cooldown: 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 Cost: 50 Range: 400
Passive: Poppy's total armor and magic resistance are increased by 10%. This effect is doubled to 20% while Poppy is below 40% of her maximum Health.
Active: Poppy gains 30% bonus movement speed for 2.5 seconds and generates a barrier around her for the duration, causing all enemies who dash within to be knocked down and take 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+70% of ability power) magic damage. This can only happen once per enemy champion.
This ability is what makes Poppy so fun to play. Yasuo is dashing back and forward and BAM! he is back at his place and u will just smack him with your q and passive dealing massive dmg. Its the big NOPE ability and this is what I personally think makes poppy amazing.
Heroic Charge - E
Cooldown: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 Cost: 70 Range: 475
Poppy dashes to the target enemy, dealing 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to them and carrying them along with her.
If they collide with terrain, she deals the same amount of physical damage to them again and stuns them for 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 / 2 seconds.
this ability makes u one-shot your opponents, knock them in the wall let them take the 2 Q proqs. bye! bye!
Keeper's Verdict - R
Cooldown: 140 / 120 / 100 Cost: 100 Range: 500
First cast: Poppy channels for up to 4 seconds, retaining the ability to move but slowing herself by 15% for the duration. Keeper's Verdict's cooldown is reduced by 75% if its channel is canceled.
Second cast: Poppy smashes the ground, sending out a shockwave. When it hits an enemy champion, a massive hammer erupts from the ground, dealing 100/150/200 (+0.9 bonus attack damage) physical damage to all enemies around it and knocking them a large distance toward their Summoning Platform.
Poppy has sight of airborne enemies and they are rendered untargetable for the duration, with the distance increasing based on how long Keeper's Verdict was channeled. Releasing the ability instantly cancels the channel and knocks up all enemies around Poppy for 0.75 seconds and doesn't makes them untargetable instead.
This ability requires a lot of practice, its hard to give tips about this ability since you just have to feel it. when to hold and who to R away or who to R in the air and destroy. care for the cc that can be applied to cancel your R.

- R can win teamfights
- Must all-in to be usefull
- Can safe enemies with R
- Relatively big cooldowns on her W
- Only good in countermatchups
- Bad extended trades
- Can get kited by mobile champions very easily
- Can flash / blink Poppy E and so her dmg
Now you are thinking: Hey this ape is instead of every website picking Conq over Grasp. Yes, i dont play with Grasp. Grasp is a run that is great for short trades and so its only good on poppy in the trades where you throw your passive. How i play poppy is: get cdr asap, and take long extended trades. Where Conq is the best rune. You lategame healing in teamfights is insane and the %hp dmg being converted to true dmg makes you excelent into tanks.
I take Triumph, Tenacity and coup de grace because the rest just wont work with Poppy.
For the seecondary tree i go defensive for 90% of the matchups. However i like to go sudden impact and ravenous hunter into easy matchups or matchups i can snowball out of control.
Scaling cdr is just so much better than 6 ad, so there i take the cdr runes and for the rest it explains itself. i always take armor runes 3th against minion aggro.
Every champion with base damage will be a hard matchup. Against the horrible matchups like Riven and Darius who you outscale you will have to play carefull, if you make 1 ****up you are dead and done for the game since they snowball out of control. However Poppy will beat them whenever she gets a lead. Poppy into riven is just: dont let her engage on you and take fights whenever you get a good hit into the wall and disengage before she can trade back.
As Poppy you tend to shov your opponents since your waveclear is insane. Take this to your adventage and shov in early and roam with your jgler to the enemie jungle and try to get some kills. After 6 you can look to shov in your lane and threaten the tower plares since your R gives a solid escape. While channeling your R walk to the opponent since it will give them less time to react with a Flash or smth.
With this build its really important to never fall behind. Whenever you do: you are useless, you dont play like a main tank or frontline. You are a dmg dealing bruiser that needs setup but can go out of control in teamfights.
Whenever you are fed, dont be afraid to 1v3 the enemies, just kill the highest dmg thread first and heal trough the rest of them. Trust me: when fed this build feels like a god. If you are good at sidestepping and dodging abilitys, dont be afraid to go into a 5 man for a tripple kill. Your scores should look like this when you have a 5/0 lead in lane:
