Threats & Synergies
Pretty easy lane, as his spikes should heal you, but watch out for his knock-up to interrupt your ultimate, or a silence to prevent it.
Darius's passive should heal you, and if you use your Resolute Smite to kite him, he shouldn't be able to stop you from farming under tower. However, if you get near him pre 6 with 1 point into your Bulwark, be warned.
Mundo has little kill threat, so dont fight, and just scale up and be of more use in team fights.
Not really any way to fight her. Just let her complete her Ravenous Hydra, which will lead to her automatically pushing lane, and farming under tower. You will lose out in CS early regardless, and her lack of magic damage makes it hard to itemize early against her.
Let his W passive heal you, but be warned that he can use Playful/Trickster to dodge your ult.
Gangplank's passive and his R will heal you, and he has little to no kill pressure on you, and less relevance in team fights.
Lane isn't horrible, but his silence can stop your ult mid-channel, and he has a lot of attack damage, making it hard for Galio to itemize well against him.
Even lane, and neither outscales the other.
Hecarim's W should easily heal Galio back to full health, but his Onslaught of Shadows or his Devastating Charge can interrupt Galio's Idol of Durand.
Irelia can't cancel Galio's ult, but she can out trade him easily in lane, and Galio can't Bulwark heal from anything she does. Just play passively and pop Idol of Durand if she all-ins you under your tower.
Fairly even lane, skill matchup that can go either way.
Poke Jax with Resolute Smite, and hope he doesn't all-in you. Stay close to tower. If you ult in a team fight, make sure his Counter Strike isn't up.
Care for Jayce's poke, and try to retaliate as much as possible. If he goes for all in, use Idol of Durand to stop him, and try to win trades. Not impossible, but hard.
Kennen had a lot of Magic Damage over time, which plays right into Galio's hands, but other than that, they are about even.
Lissandra's short ranges make her vulnerable to being trapped in Idol of Durand, and you should be able to outpoke her in lane by retaliating her Ice Shard's with Resolute Smites.
Stalemate in lane, and both great team fighters, Malphite is the armor counterpart of Galio.
Little kill pressure for either in lane, and both are great team fighters.
Try to poke Nasus with Resolute Smite, but honestly there's not much you can do to stop him from farming his Siphoning Strike up.
Pretty even, but Olaf's attack speed will only increase Idol of Durand's damage. However, Olaf can cancel Idol of Durand with an ult of his own, so this is pretty even.
Play passively and try to win most trades. Not the easiest lane, but is in Galio's favor.
Rek'Sai's Unburrow will cancel Idol of Durand, so be very cautious when playing against Rek'Sai. Additionally, her combination of Magic and True Damage don't suit well for Galio's usual Magic Resist build.
Renekton is plagued by short range, but if you get near him, he will kill you. He can also cancel your ult with his stun. Don't try to trade with him in lane, as you will run out of mana quickly, and stick to just poking and hope he doesn't tower dive you.
Her all-in can result in an early kill for her, but after 6, Idol of Durand can minimize her impact in team fights.
Probably the easiest lane possible for Galio. Poke with Q, and use W to counter Rumble's damage over time with his Q and R.
No kill pressure for either person, and just sit back and try to outfarm Ryze.
Boring lane where nobody will die or get kills, but you can win the poke battle easily, assuming you don't run out of mana.
Singed's Poison Trail will heal Galio, but other than that, neither Singed nor Galio will really phase each other.
Another farm lane, but Sion can possibly cancel Idol of Durand with an ult of his own.
Tied with Rumble for easiest lane for Galio, mushrooms and auto attacks from Teemo will only heal Galio, and Teemo will build attack speed, which will build up Idol of Durand's damage.
Even lane, if Trynd dives you at 6, ult him.
: Teleport is a good summoner spell on most top laners, Galio included. It will allow you to recall early and get back to lane quickly, and can be used to teleport in to impact team fights.
: Ignite can be taken as an alternative to Teleport, although I wouldn't recommend this. If you are against someone who you have high kill pressure on in the early game, you can take ignite, but this is probably the only circumstance in which Ignite in place of Teleport.
