Ekko
Ekko is good but really, any champion as long as the player behind it is helping you correctly would be the ideal synergy. TF is so versatile I don't believe there are any bad allies for him.

This video is my gameplay that I recorded for the purpose of this guide.
We won and I scored S rank while our adc was AFK. The players are not premade and it is just a draft match, and the players are propably not high elo.
Match History
You will start the game in mid, to get enough experience to be level 3. Poke the enemy and stun them with your gold card. Remember to put a ward in the enemy blue or red buff, your job is to steal them.
Then, you will roam to the lane that is pushed the most, usually, the enemy jungle will not be taking the crab, but if they are, then stun them and steal it with smite. Get your laners to help you if you can, or run if your're not confident in winning the fight.
As you roam, you will help your jungler by applying pressure while they farm and take care of objectives, while giving your laners kills.
Just in case; here's how you fight with Twisted Fate's kit:
Use your Gold cards against squishy champions, and those that are trying to ruin your day.
Use your Red cards to kill multiple creeps, like minions, or jungle monsters.
Use your Blue card on single targets, like tank champions and tanky jungle monsters.
Always engage if you have your cards ready.
Use your wild cards as your main damaging ability, it has very good range and waveclear.
Your ulti is your best way of annyoing the enemy by knowing their locations, teleporting around the map to finish them off when they're on the verge of death, assist during a gank to secure kills. You can also rush objectives and steal them if you're good enough, but I can't guarantee you'll escape!
And that's it really, be mindful of experience and try to catch waves even if you have to use your teleport.
Did I mention you can play as a midlaner and do the exact same thing? I recommend having a support that will start mid and roam much like you.
If you play at high elo, or in korean servers maaaybe you won't have as much of a problem, but still, don't let it dishearten you, this works, I tried it, and you can carry your team and be a support on all lanes, you just need to believe be cool and play smart, and once you start helping people they will realize how valuable you are as an ally. Don't insult them if they don't cooperate, some people are really salty and take out their frustration on you for anything that is out of line (according to them).
Is it viable in competitive?
YES! YES! YES!..YES!!
Especially in the current state of meta where people play with old roles that worked two years ago, with adc in bot and one player in mid. You will simply get more experience, and gold, and be a bigger influence on the game than the enemy support, just by having one more smite and more map presence.
Yes, it is possible to get S rank without even being fed if you don't die too much and steal enough objectives.
If you still don't believe me here's pages from my match history, where I was trying to come up with builds and ideas for this guide, While playing exactly the way I described.

Also if you want to play with me in draft and casual play I'll give you an in-depth explanation of the guide and show you how it works in action.
