I finally updated the guide after almost a year. I've been busy, and I took a hiatus for like 6 months because I really didn't like what Season 5 was doing. Anyway, I removed the Dominion stuff, so it's just Top and Jungle, and really, really updated them. My guide is currently complete, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks much for the advice. I've updated the guide to make more sense with the current way the game's flowing.

The guide itself has been updated for season 4. I may be altering the masteries as days go by, it's hard to get used to for now.

Other items may include Ravenous Hydra and Blade of the Ruined King if you are stomping something ridiculous. Swap out for Wit's End if you do buy. Ravenous Hydra is an amazing item for splitpushing when you already have Sunfire Aegis.

Another good situational buy might be a Locket of the Iron Solari if neither your support nor jungler gets it (extra shields + stats upon arrival).

But yeah, cores are usually Sunfire Aegis + Spirit Visage as Carpenter said. Then just stack some ridiculous **** like Warmog's Armor and Randuin's Omen to make yourself unkillable. Banshee's Veil and Guardian Angel could really ruin their day as well. Frozen Mallet is a niche but okay buy.

I tend to find Trinity Force kinda meh as well, seeing as you're already stacking about 4 defensive items already, I just prefer to buy that 1 damage item like BotRK or Hydra.

Don't shen players max W second instead of E?

Besides that, agreed with the others.

Shen's core items are Sunfire Aegis and Spirit Visage, not Wit's End or Warmog's Armor.

Warmog's Armor is only good if the enemy team doesn't have a lot of % health damage such as Blade of the Ruined King, Liandry's Torment, or skills that deal %health.

Wit's End is an excellent item on Shen but is by no means "core." Most team comps do not have a great deal of Magical damage and therefore Spirit Visage is usually sufficient.

Your example build is fine but it is just important to clarify the proper core items for Shen. There is literally almost never a game where you would not build both Sunfire Aegis and Spirit Visage as your first two complete items. (Unless like 4 AD you would build Randuin's Omen and THEN Spirit Visage.

You should mention both Trinity Force and Zephyr as situational because they are both excellent alternatives to Wit's End if you don't need the MR.

Rylai's and Abyssal aren't very viable on Shen not because they don't synergize well, but because there are better options 100% of the time. I've still used them for teh lulz if I get super fed or just wanna go AP Shen and troll lol.

In regards to your other builds:
-Jungle Shen might be the slowest jungler in the ******* game, and his ganks aren't that incredible. It's not bad, but there are ALWAYS better options to pick from. Still works for fun though!
-Support Shen is terribad. True, you have infinite poke and a very strong lvl 2 engage but almost any support will outrange your poke easily and you cannot utilize your innate sustain as your ADC will be farming. He provides no utility for his carry and only has one CC, albeit a very strong one.
-AD/Crit Shen? wut.
-Mid Shen is something I've never done myself but looks kinda funny. Obviously not viable, but could work for the lulz.

For your marks I have to recommend attack speed for top lane. I've tried both extensively and AS is just sooooo much better. Better split-pushing, better dueling, better sustain.

In terms of the guide the coding could use some work, but I can't code for **** either so I'm not one to talk lol.

Yep that's pretty much it. Not a bad guide but I think that having so many unviable builds is just asking for downvotes. You put a ****load of time into this guide it seems, so I'm going to upvote it! Frankly I'm surprised it's at such a low rating....I've seen SO much worse believe me.

Improved the toplane build and updated the guide accordingly.
I realize now Rylai's Crystal Scepter shouldn't be a core choice on Shen, and instead should be used only if your team lacks CC and needs you to slow people. I still maintain, however, that Wit's End is a fantastic item on Shen that gives him both damage and tankiness for cheap, and can be the only damage item he buys and still be a large threat. It's simply a great item for him.

I personally don't see the attraction of Trinity Force on Shen. It gives him a low amount of AD and AP that he doesn't really put to good use, mana and crit that are entirely useless, attack speed that is less than a Wit's End, and a measly 250 health. The movement speed and Sheen proc are fantastic, but I don't think the item is quite worth the gold on Shen unless you're getting pretty decently fed.

Yes, some people like W, and some people like E. In a relatively safe lane, E is better to take for the cooldown, but as I said in the guide a few times, taking W second instead of E can help if you're not doing well in trades.

I have a feeling that no matter how perfect I make this guide, it's still never going to go above 45%. I'm still going to keep working on it and taking advice, though, because I actually care about it. Feel free to keep giving me criticism.
