Hello, and welcome to my first MOBAfire guide featuring my favorite champion to play, Xin Zhao.

Xin Zhao has a variety of roles:
-Mid
-Solo lane
-Laning
-Jungling
-Off-tank

Xin Zhao is a melee DPS fighter that can make squishy champion's health disappear in seconds.
I highly recommend Xin Zhao for new players due to the fact that he is fairly easy to play but also very strong. This is my guide to the Seneschal of Demacia, I hope it helps.

P.S, please do not comment about the guide not having any "flashy pretty colors" or anything. This IS my first guide. Pretty colors will definitely be included in future guides.

Laning:
I take flat armor penetration marks, flat attack speed seals, magic pen glyphs and armor penetration quints. This allows me to shred my targets and also take a bit of damage.

Jungling:
I take attack speed(6) and armor penetration(3) marks, flat armor seals, magic resist(6) and magic resist per level(3) glyphs and armor penetration runes. This allows me to clear the jungle fast but also take an amount of punishment because when I jungle with Xin Zhao, I act more of an off-tank.

Laning:
I take a 21/0/9 build. Make sure you remember to buff your exhaust and ghost spells!!!11!1

Jungling:
I take a 20/0/10 build, making sure I have increased time on my neutral monster buffs because you're gonna be taking red A LOT.

Laning:
I start with a Dagger for the attack speed and a Health Potion because Xin Zhao has a tendency to draw first blood, which requires taking a bit of punishment. The health potion lets you stay in lane and out farm and out level your opponents already.
I build the Dagger in to a Berserker's Greaves
If you do not need the extra life steal, rush a B.F sword then a Black Cleaver
At this point, you're pretty much deadly now.
Next, build a Phantom Dancer and Frozen Mallet
You're gonna be killing everyone on sight. The next three items are your choice on what to build first.

Jungling:
EVERYTHING FOR THE JUNGLING BUILD IS THE SAME AS ABOVE EXCEPT UNLESS YOU WANNA CHANGE Force of Nature IN TO A Banshee's Veil OR A Thornmail

For laning: Xin Zhao is quite squishy, so instead of Frozen Mallet or Infinity Edge replace it with items such as:
Randuin's Omen
[Banshee's Veil
Thornmail
Force of Nature

IMO, the best summoner spells for Xin Zhao is Ghost and Exhaust
Both spells act defensively and offensively.
Ghost can let you chase down enemies as well as run away.
Exhaust allows you to chase down enemies as well as slow them down. Exhaust is also used as a mini-blind, which is great for 1v1 confrontations, which Xin Zhao will get in to a lot.

Other options:
Ignite Allows you to pick up easy kills early game.
Teleport When you're low, recall and come back to your lane. Gank. Help a lane. Farm a lane.
Flash Good replacement for ghost.
Cleanse They CC you. You go like "OH NOEEEZZZ! WHAT I GON DO? OH YAH, I HAZ DUH CLEANSE. LOLZ K BAI.

I'm not gonna talk about other spells.

NOTE: EVERYTHING I SAY HERE IS WITHOUT A LEASH FOR BLUE.
Basically the same route over and over. Start at blue. Xin Zhao does NOT need a leash, but it would be nice if you got a pull anyways. After taking blue, make your way to wolf camps. You're going to have about 1-2 bar hp with 4 hp pots. Use your fourth while you make your way to wolf camps. Once you kill the wolf camp, make your way to wraiths. You're going to have 3 bars of hp. Finish the wraith camps and move to the two golems. You're going to have smite up now. Smite one and finish it off with three talon strike, then kill the second with whatever.

Recall now and buy a Long Sword and a health pot. Now go kill red. You're smite will be up around the time you're killing it. Go to your respawned wraith camps. Then go back to the respawned small golems stuff.
Recall. Buy Madred's Razor and another health potion and go to your wolf camp. After wolf camp, go to your respawned wraith camp.
IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A JUNGLER, TAKE THEIR BLUE AND GET TO LEVEL 6. THEN START GANKING EVERYONE. BUT IF THEY DO HAVE A JUNGLER, XIN ZHAO IS SUUUUUUUUUUUCH A STRONG COUNTER JUNGLER IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. JUST GO RAPE THAT KID.

You want to lane with a support or a stunner. Xin Zhao lanes incredibly with a stunner. Someone like Morgana would be perfect- a support with a stun. Tell your support to not take any last hits and give them to you. Make sure you get at least 80-90% of your lanes last hit. At about the 20 minute mark, at least have 100 cs.

Xin Zhao initiate fights all day everyday. Pick their carry and knock him in the air with Three Talon Strike. Your team should know to go now and just faceroll the enemy team.
