"And whats this about master yi being horrible at higher elos? "
The highest elo master yi at lolking is about 2100. Now compare that with well known high elo champs. Solo queue elo goes all the way up to 2800, with top performing champs elo's typically around 2500-2600.
Why is master yi 400 elo down on most of the good champs, and 700 elo behind the leader?
Also, note that even the highest elo master yi player plays him rarely, like 2% of all games. That's cos high elo players know he isn't viable against most teams.

Thanks will do.

Sirell,
thanks for making an effort. I'll be updating the guide based on some insight you've given me.
But wrt backdooring we aren't talking about the same thing.
Master Yi certainly cannot backdoor a turret with just a BF sword and phantom dancer. He can push it easy, but not backdoor it. Review my updated guide and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

Yeah everything that really needs to be fixed has already been posted. Try using fraps to show us if this is viable and even get some screenshots. You can get fraps for free, I did. *cough*. And whats this about master yi being horrible at higher elos? Try playing AP master yi or go for a hybrid build. That might change your mind. These are the top yi players. http://www.lolking.net/champions/masteryi

I'm gonna say it right now, right here. A Thornmail on a killer is like 6 Infinity Edge on Volibear. It's simply crazy and not optimal. Try a classic AD Master Yi with some defense I.E: Guardian Angel and you'll be winning fights and backdooring in a better way.

Also something you should know, A champion made for backdooring all the time doesn't fit the meta. With a classic AD Yi + some defense you can win team fights, win 1v1's or 1v2's AND suddenly backdoor turrets late game when you have that huge AD everyone hates.

No vote for now, Might want to republish with BBCoding and a better build and turn on comment to vote as to not get this low in % votes.

Sincerely,

JungleKing

No pictures, no skill explanation.
No tips.

Perhaps this needs an improvement.

^What he said.

If you want to learn BBCode, there's this. Give it a read, use it, and repost the guide. If you still need help with formatting feel free to PM or check out my guide. Turn on Require Comment to Vote this time or else you'll just get voted down again. Also listen to what others have to say about the items.

+1 for effort.

I see a problem with this build. It doesn't work if there are enemy champions on the other team. They will kill you. Period. The point of a backdoor is that it's meant to be done suddenly and too quickly for the enemy to react. If you focus on doing it since game-start, then they'll catch on and cut you off pretty quick. I'm sorry, but the theory behind your entire build is kind of flawed. Backdoor should only be done as a contingency. Master Yi can frontdoor just as well as backdoor if you build him properly.

But in any case, feedback...

To backdoor, all Yi needs is a Phantom Dancer and a B. F. Sword. Putting an item such as Thornmail into the main built is just completely situational. You're still going to die to turrets and all (and I mean ALL) champions nearby. You have minimal Magic Resist. One CC and you're dead. You'll never even get near a turret if a champion is on it.

To be honest, I'd just say: 'Why not build a Yi that can kill turrets... AND champions?' Don't fix what ain't broke. Build a regular AD Yi with Berserker's Greaves, Phantom Dancer, Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Guardian Angel and whatever have you for the last item (usually Last Whisper or Madred's Bloodrazor or Youmou's Ghostblade). And hey presto! You can kill turrets quickly AND champions. Wahey.

Your masteries. Lol at the Improved Recall . Why is that there? Why not put it into your offense tree, into the things that on the off chance, you might be forced to fight a champion and need the extra damage? There are, after all, usually 5 of them on the enemy team.

The huge walls of texts, lack of pictures or otherwise editing whatsoever has already been mentioned...

Some of the information there is just wrong... Why would you try and time Wuju style as you're taking a turret? Why not just activate it as soon as you start attacking? If you do the maths, you'll realise that it does the same amount of damage, but you get as much damage in as early as possible. Which is clearly what you want.

In my opinion, this guide has the completely wrong focus. It completely discounts the fact that there will be enemy champions and that not all of them are stupid enough not to focus you when they see you focusing on backdoor. This Master Yi build would have difficulty fighting 1v1 with any champion, let alone winning the fight.

Here are your words and precisely what is wrong with the build:

'Master yi is not a good team fighter, and with this build, he's even worse!'

So your team will be at a disadvantage fighting 4v5 and without one of what would usually be a severe damage dealer. They lose team fight at Baron. You take a turret. They take Baron, one recalls to kill you and then the rest take your base. Why? Because the Master Yi can't team fight even if he wanted to.

Avoiding team fights in a team game is just fail before you even launch the game.

No images, Wall´s of text, and the itens u recommended are usefull against the turrets, but and the enemy champions? u build a lot of AS, the enemy tank just need to build a thonrmail and buy a giants belt and your build ill be pretty useless againt him and dude why 2 ionic sparks? waste of passive? u build a lot of armor but almost no health... this´s not a tanky yi neither a killer yi WTF IS THIS? u can destroy ALL the turrets but if u cant kill the enemy champs u cant push any side
next time try to find a better iten combination, dont write walls of text from now on, and put alternative builds to ur readers see the diference betwen the yis
