Hello! My name is xristosxi393 and this is my first guide. I am going to show you a simple build for Yorick. Firstly, I would like to thank my friend "Mknzzz" for showing me how awesome Yorick is.

The work of gravediggers is essential amongst the living, but invaluable in the Shadow Isles. There are many shades of death there, and each is embraced rather than feared or reviled. One can only ascend from one state to the next with the magical aid of a skilled professional. At the end of the first Rune War, Yorick Mori made his living as a gravedigger. His family owned and maintained the Final Rest Memorial, one of the oldest cemeteries in Valoran. The shovel he employed for his work had been passed down for generations. Each gravedigger taught his son that this shovel was imbued with the spirit of every forefather, and that those spirits would protect him during the long lonely nights amongst the tombstones. To his eternal regret, Yorick died without an heir, bringing the proud Mori line to a close. His body was interred with his shovel in the family mausoleum, and the Final Rest Memorial soon fell to ruin. Death, however, was not the end Yorick had expected.

Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles - not quite dead, definitely not alive - still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must ''bury his quota'' before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what ''his quota'' is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.

Omen of War

Yorick's next attack will deal 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+0.2 per attack damage) bonus physical damage and summon a Spectral Ghoul.
The Spectral Ghoul deals 8 / 16 / 24 / 32 / 40 extra physical damage (on top of the 35% of Yorick's bonus damage) and moves faster than the rest of the ghouls. While the ghoul is active, Yorick moves 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 % faster as well.

I max this second. It gives you bonus movement speed but it's not easy to spam.

Omen of Pestilence

Yorick summons a Decaying Ghoul that arrives with a violent explosion, dealing 60 / 95 / 130 / 165 / 200 (+100% of ability power) magic damage and slowing nearby enemies by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 1.5 seconds. While the Decaying Ghoul remains alive, nearby enemies continue to be slowed by 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20%.

Yorick's best ability! Why? Because there are so many ways you can use it. Firstly, to spam your opponent. Secondly, to escape (you can combine it with Omen of War). Thirdly, for gangs. And finaly, to secure a kill. Max it first.

Omen of Famine

Yorick deals 55 / 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) magic damage and heals for 40% of the damage dealt. A Ravenous Ghoul is summoned behind his target, which heals Yorick for the damage it deals.

You can max this second instead of Omen of War but I suggest to max it last. Omen of War gives you movement speed. Remend to use Omen of Famine when you don't have a lot of health left. It helps you stay in lane longer.

How to use your Ulti

Omen of death

Yorick conjures a revenant in the image of one of his allies that will have 50 / 75 / 100% of their max health and 45 / 60 / 75% of their attack damage, which lasts up to 10 seconds. If his ally dies while its revenant is alive, the revenant sacrifices itself to reanimate them temporarily by restoring them to full health and give them time to enact vengeance. The reanimation will last for up to 10 seconds. During this time, the ally can use all of his abilities.

Omen of Death is not as easy as it looks! Be very careful not to waste it. To control your ghouls or revenant hold ALT + right click. At level 3, the revenant will have 100% of the ally's health and 75% of his attack damage (not bad), but it lasts only up to 10 seconds. If you use it right, those 10 seconds will be more than enough. If you use it wrong, you will end up having a revenant following you for no reason.

Here is the list of the reasons that you will use your ulti for:
Save your ally - If your ally doesn't have a lot of HP left and he's in a fight, use your ulti to save him. If he dies and the revenant survives, he will be able to control the revenant.
Tower dive - Remember that the revenant's health will be 100% of your ally, so you if you are the chosen ally, the revenant's health will be about 2500-3000 (late game). So just let the tower hit the revenant and hit the tower until it's destroyed (summon your ghouls to hit the tower too).
Deception - Just send your revenant to your opponents and let them waste their abilities and mana on it. This won't work against a skilled player.

Greater Seal of Armor - Yorick's passive Unholy Covenant combined with armor make yorick a powerful tank.

Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - Same as above. Magic resist + armor + passive help you take a lot of damage and survive (that's what a pusher like yorick needs).

Greater Mark of Desolation and Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage - Yorick deals a lot of physical damage and these runes are here to help you.

In your masteries try to focus on physical damage ( Brute Force , Deadliness , Havoc ) and health ( Veteran's Scars ). Remember that Omen of War and Omen of Famine deal physical damage and Yorick's ghouls deal 35% of his attack damage and have 35% of his total health.

Starting Items:

I usualy prefer Doran's Shield because of the health and armor it gives but you may have problems with your mana. Meki Pendant helps you with your mana regein problem and you can upgrate it to Tear of the Goddess but if your opponent is a powerful AD, you might have a problem. If you choose to take Doran's Shield, try not to harass your opponent with Omen of Pestilence. If you choose Meki Pendant, run away as soon as you see that you don't have a lot oh HP and use your Health Potion.

Core items:

Manamune is actualy the most important item for Yorick. Yorick needs a lot of mana to harass his opponent. Manamune also gives you attack damage which (as I said and before) is important for his ghouls.

Trinity Force is just perfect. It gives you all you need: mana, ability power, health, attack damage, movement speed, and CC ( Phage's passive). Phage's passive can be combined with Omen of Pestilence during gangs.

Warmog's Armor with Atma's Impaler is a classic combo. Even thought Atma's Impaler was nerfed in the last patch, it is still a good combination with Warmog's Armor. Your ghouls are benefited by this combination. Also you will have 33% critical chance.

Summoner Spells

Best Spells:

Teleport is an important spell for pushers. The only problem is the cooldown. Use it every time you see you opponent going to destroy your turret (not when there are many opponents) and when you see that your minions are attacking a turret, go and help them.

Flash is an important spell for champions who don't have any escape move (just like Yorick). Use Flash to escape from a gang or to catch an opponent.

Alternative Spells:

Heal is very useful during fights. You can take it if their isn't a support in your team.

You can take Ghost instead of flash but it won't be so much useful.

Bad Spells:

You already have Omen of Pestilence to slow your opponent down. Exhaust has no use.

I can't think any reason why to take Surge. During fights, you have your ghouls, so you won't benefit from Surge.
