^^
What jhoi said sounds neat, because most people that make their first guide here have no idea how to build x champion or how to format a guide. This is not the case for members that have the "Pro" ranking since they actually know what they're talking about. Also, getting yourself to be known in the forums before posting a guide will get you more views (possibly).

You can always write a guide and then ask some people (best via PM) to review your guide! There are some threads from people that review guides so you don't have to popular on the forums to make a good guide!
If you write a good guide, the votes/comments/views will come in time!
Even though the idea of "x over 100 posts" is a good method of thinning the crowd from the bad and the "good" so to speak, it still does limit new members from wanting to stick around and also they lack any means of getting noticed. I have read many a guides that were worse than mine but they had more than 100 posts, in no way does that mean they are more valuable of a community member than I. This also rings true as I am a new member as of recent and am lacking a high amount of publicity for my guides to be even remotely recognized. Even though I'm a new member I think my guide is rather well formatted and if you disagree then check them out. For a member who has been active for a little while, I would consider it to be good, but maybe I'm wrong.
Also in response to Siveo, even if you write a good guide the votes and comments might not arrive because that guide might be lost and forgotten after a while in the dumps, despite the quality. I have managed to find a few of these as well.

Here is the thing...
there is nothing we can do about that.
If people see on new guides, a guide by someone they recognize on the forums or a guide by a Vet with a green/blue name, they will most likely look at it and trust it more over a guide from a person that just joined today and doesn't post on the forums.
Just get popular, basically, for your guide to get popular.
l0l
there are some exceptions though, like I've seen non-popular people's guides shoot up in score before, it DOES happen.

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!
I guess I kind of had a false hope of being one of those select few to skyrocket into popularity, in terms of guides. But I now feel like a lot of guides have lost integrity because it is more of a popularity contest than who wrote the best "Guide".
Read your Kennen Guide I am intrigued by building him Offtank, I'll have to try it sometime. Although I don't really like it when a guide includes the Lore of the character especially if the Lore itself makes up 40% or more of the guide's description itself. This is also assuming my opinion matters at all. Only 30 posts, so I guess not :/
