Carry ing game never meant your build is good , when will you understand there is so much reason you win a game outside the item build of 1 guy ?
you can use a build with 80% of an other build effectivness and still win , i see ppl in 2k+ elo win lanes and game with awful build , it never meant they are using the best build , it mean maybe their jungler helped a lot , maybe they had lane opponent their champ naturaly dominate , maybe they guy was just bad , maybe he just outplayed him by his map awareness teamplay etc .
there is only few case when having build X other build Y will make you win over a lose .

I've never seen such anger simply for having your point debated, Xaioli. I personally think Elo is a massive joke. I was in the first round of beta and since they started testing matchmaking and had the page where we could view everyone's Elo rating I could tell it was going to be a useless tool for measuring e-peens. I really don't care how many people that work at Riot or are also game developers tell me that Elo works for this sort of game. It's a joke. It's a rating for one person in a team game. It's a rating for a game where you don't even get to choose what level of play you enter when you do decide to enter (in Chess you don't just get forced into a game with a grandmaster on the other side of the board; you choose your opponents). Sorry for the rant, but since I started playing again several months ago I've been bottling this up.
I just really dislike when people sit there and talk about normal games being a big joke. You know the only differences between a ranked game and a normal game? The gamemode (draft mode vs. blind pick) and the attitude you take towards it. No idea where it started but a really massive number of players just decided normal is a joke and it went downhill from there. I'm sure you'd like to know my ranked game background so here it is...
I have yet to even bother playing ranked because I'm currently stuck in a ****ty situation where I can't yet afford a computer that isn't cobbled together from 5 year old parts and I am not willing to spend money on an internet connection that is wholly reliable. That said, I choose not to play ranked because I don't want to ruin games for people that take the game as seriously as I do. So at the moment I suffer through normal games because people can't be asked to take it seriously because there's "no Elo on the line, trolololol".
I wish there was a way to make people take normal games more seriously, but I feel at the moment that the only way would be switching the mode to draft mode since I've always thought blind pick was a stupid idea. I highly doubt that Riot will ever change it though, so the only way is to try and encourage people to play seriously.

@Xaioli: I agree slightly with AnIh.
Proving that you win a game with a build does not prove that the build is good - it shows that either you were good enough that game to carry with your character, lucky enough to land good teammates, or lucky enough to land bad enemies.
Real "proof" of a build being good is having a series of screenshots showing wins with the same build, and you could even go so far as to say that those victories were a cause of your own skill and not the build.
However, it does not make the build bad - likewise, the argument that "I lost with this build, so it's bad" is invalid.
The deciding factor is when you compare two different builds used by the same player and then compare scores and win-loss ratio afterwards, proving that the build that wins more is superior (eliminating all control variables), and that's just too clunky to put in a guide.

I've read through what ELO is supposed to be and I totally agree. If Riot made an effort to ensure kills are based on total damage dealt this might be a little more reasonable, but even then...They need a new way to match up people. I've gone into a normal game with all level 30s (high ELO supposedly) and sat in queue for quite a while only to be matched with a team that has 3 levels 30s, a level 26, and a level 18 or something equally ridiculous. Let's be honest: ELO has nothing to do with actual skill, it has to do with how many kills you can get and/or steal.
Ooh and I am also sorry to rant.
There are good reasons for both the kill system and the elo system. They're both currently the best way for them to work.
"Blizzard spoke thus; Thou shalt not BM. And the players replied Nay, I shall Play my hand with Lethal already on the board. And so Blizzard sent unto them this Brawl of Yogg, As a lesson for their sins of Pride and Greed, for he is the Prophet of Madness and RNG. On that day, the tavern descended into an era of chaos and darkness, until the weekend passed and everyone forgot all about it. Amen. Book of SMOrc, Verse 20, Chapter 4." - Feam T
ELO is based on how many kills/deaths/assists you get, and I would assume kills are rated the highest out of the three. In a game where someone goes something like 5-2-30 and half of their assists were kills stolen by other players, the people who stole the kills end up with higher ELO ratings even though they did very little of the work.
I'm not saying they should fix ELO, I'm saying they should use a different system entirely. A system intended for a 1 on 1 encounter can't realistically be effectively applied to a team game.

Haha, **** no.
Elo is 100% the amount of games you win.
Win=gain elo, Lose=lose elo.
