Why are people so cocky in their guides?

So I was browsing through a few of the new guides, and I kept seeing things like "For the first time you will be able to 1v2", and seriously why do people do it? You were probably able to do it before, and allot of the time better.

It makes the guide appear "attractive".

If a new player reads "YOU WILL BE ABLE TO 1V5 WHIT THIS BUILD!" then they are more hyped, and might actually try the build.

Kinda the same way news papers work. You never wonder why the most interesting/controversial story always are on the front? They are there to catch peoples attention so that they might read your paper.
Thanks to me and Elleeeeeka (love that name) for my sigs.
If i made a helpful comment on your guide/build, then hit that +rep button. or don't, its not like i care.

Hmm, I see, I personally find it incredibly annoying and stops me reading the guide allot of the time.

I think that is fine. You are able to detect bias. Everything you ever read will have bias but you can always learn something if you look close enough.

At least I think you can always learn something o.o

Would you rather, "I know you can 1v2 any day, but I'll go over the basics anyway because I enjoy redundancy"?

My plan is foiled...

Now I have to actually make a relatively good guide for him...

^That's a very good point.

Part of the reason is that a lot of guide-writers (especially of the newer guides that haven't been tested by voters) do not play League at the highest level. When you're a low elo, you can get away with a lot more mistakes and there is a much wider gap between skill levels since you could be facing a complete and utter noob. It's possible that they're so cocky because their experience in-game is easier than it would be at high elo.

There's also some truth that it makes the guide more attractive. Everyone wants a build that's successful.
Thanks to Minho for the sig!
