I saw an AD Nidalee use an Essence Reaver pretty effectively today. I guess people are still experimenting.

Essence Reaver wouldn't even be a bad item on Talon if it actually gave mana sustain BEFORE the full item purchase. 2650 gold is too much to pay, by then mana isn't as important.
