Imo the more heals your support has, the less valuable lifesteal becomes for you. For example, if I lane with a Janna I will rush Bloodthirster every time because I need the sustain, but if I lane with a Soraka I already have plenty of sustain, so I might decide to wait for an Infinity Edge.

You can just get a vamp scepter and along with some doran's you'll be fine, especially with lifesteal quints

Consider the concept that lifesteal quints MAY afford you a Doran's blade start in a lane you'd otherwise have to had to have started with pots...
And that 6% life steal end game is probs better than 6 AD.

6% lifesteal + Dorans Blade + Soraka .... have fun with that one.
