are you both saying the contrast between the BG and the font color is not enough? I didn't change the text color and the BG is darker for better contrast. I am confused

Try clearing your browser cache you might have a mix of new and old graphics / css.

Like I like the format but it's just so...black. And the side bars are black too. Too much black! (not racist or anything)

Other than the shock of a new format, the only thing I notice is that the "Posts"/"Joined"/"Rep" is a little hard to read.

Also, WHOA new mod buttons!
