Just watched Spirited away, "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi"
The feels. Can't even remember the first time I watched it. It's been 10 years propably.
Finland has very strong fanbase for some directors/studios and so they are released even
in the theaters, Studio Ghibli is a good example so we have kinda odd selection for animes.
Older animes like "Spirited Away", "My neighbour Totoro", "Moving castle", " Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin"
are at least twice as known as hypa nimes like Shingeki no Koyjin or any of the newer ones. I feel
like watching those over again and I'll propably do so.

My word Spirited away is so amazing. I recommend that you watch some other miyazaki films - he has many other movies that are great too.
One of my friends at chess club recently recommended that i watch seitokai yukuindomo. He chuckled to himself after he recommended the anime to me, and told me not to watch it near my parents ;n; Have any of you watched it before? Is there anything that i should mentally prepare myself for?

If I helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

I've watched all of them at least once. Some 2-3 times :D
Seitokai Yukuindomo is wordplay ecchi or how should I explain it.
Ehh... Contains lot's of "sex comedy" or sex jokes.
I dropped it very soon, like ~1-2 episodes, if even that.
Looks like just another only-guy-in-school anime. As long as he doesn't advise Discipline you're fine. (Goes without saying that's an NSFW search term.)\
Have any of you watched My Little Pony? I got involved in some weird promise that I'd watch it but I'm wondering what you think about it.

I have seen season one.
It's pretty decent. Solid entertainment.
It's a bit nonsensical at times, but that kind of comes with the focus on the younger demographics.

You'll be fine. There's sex jokes, some of which involve visual humor, but that's it. Chances are pretty good that your parents wouldn't think much of seeing you watching it, probably. But you know your own parents, and how they'd react to jokes where the punchline is a either a **** or "you thought it was a **** but it isn't." There's little in the way of actual fanservice, though.

Therefore, probs to your endurance lifebaka, helping me choose wisely on what to watch :D
That's basically exactly why I'm doing this. I mean, I'm gonna' watch all these anime anyway (I am a huge nerd), so I might as well save someone else the trouble of doing it too just to find out what might or might not be worth watching.

Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo is that kind of a mecha we all know and love, mixed up with the magical girl genre and some more serious violence (I'm calling it, lifebaka, it will be darker than you expect).
After a second episode ("lesbians" is a magic word that will get me to watch basically anything, FYI), Cross Ange isn't really getting darker than I expected. Although perhaps I was a bit fast in terming it edgy, its use of dark elements might still be called "subtle as a sledgehammer to the groin." But subtle or not, so far they're fairly effective and I'm totally coming along for the ride. It's gonna' get on my nerves pretty fast if Ange keeps being a priss and unhelpful-to-the-plot for much longer, though. I really can't stand that kind of whinging for long.
Although seriously, Cross Ange isn't really any darker or more violent than other recent anime, such as Tokyo Ghoul or even Akame ga Kill! It's just succeeding in balancing its dark elements with other things, so that it remains impactful when the anime shows horrible things happening (so far). This is, I think, the real key to having a successful dark tone. Without contrast, the darkness simply fades to grey, no matter how horrible the things going on actually are. We cannot properly appreciate the bad times without seeing the good times as well, and it also helps to keep reinforcing the contrast as you go as well. FMA and FMA: Brotherhood are really good at this, for example, contrasting their dark elements with frequent lighter interludes and comedy. Akame ga Kill! is also generally pretty good at it, juxtaposing its dark elements with comedy and totally out-of-place light elements to great effect at times (I'm especially fond of Esdeath going from violent to lovey-dovey in an instant, as at the end of episode 13, and Bols pretty generally).

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works episode 2 was amazing
The slow pace of this anime seriously just keeps me entertained so so so much and it makes me appreciate every little moment idk
I love it when I find just the right anime for me, gives me so much to look forward to xD I like this 50 minute episode strat going on, hopefully it'll last through the entire season (pls let me hope)
EDIT: Log Horizon s2 ep 2 was pretty good
Kinda feel like s1 was off to a better start though, still enjoyable and lolthathumour

Yeah, exactly. That's one of the biggest problem with Tokyo Ghoul. It just jumps straight into the abyss. We hardly even know anything about the characters before **** happens to them. I have no reason to care for any of the characters in their weak/vulnerable moments because they were never really established beyond their basic personality types before **** hit the fan. I literally don't give a **** about the protagonist because he's been nothing but a an annoying **** since the start.
FMA does it pretty well, yeah.
Another series that does it damn near perfectly is Berserk. The golden age arc most importantly, but really all of it. Oh my god the feels. It sends shivers down my spine just remembering how good it was.
I dislike AgK!, you don't? (granted, I read the manga, but still) I thought it was just extremely shallow and did the serious elements very flimsily, like with most things. It was just really shallow and flimsy in general. There's like zero thought involved in the fights; all flash no substance.

ACTUALLY in Tokyo Ghoul there was some contrast added later on
