The telegraphed backstory deaths as well as Chelsea specifically in her death, where they had Bols survive the explosion just so Chelsea could assassinate him just so they could make Chelsea actually do something before she died. [/spoiler] The main appeal to me is the action. I mean, the action itself is good but not the best, but the characters themselves are just so badass. Seriously, the fight scenes are just so adrenaline pumping in how they just glorify them. I mean, Tatsumi's blood twirl from the second episode was just so awesome, and it literally just lasted a few seconds. Another thing to like is how daring they are. Not much is censored within the series. I mean, personally, I'm not much of a gore person, but to those that do like it, you won;t be disappointed with what they are willing to show. And be warned, it isn't a series where they ensure that women are safe. The fact that they kill off [s]kawaii anime girls[/s] women was shocking to me since most action movies I watch with this much gore are all men dying (Hooray for equal rights?). [spoiler= More Akame ga Kill spoilers] I'll be honest though, the series got pretty lame at one point, specifically on the boat. You have no clue how disappointed I was at Tatsumi's Imperial Arms. It was just Incursion, we've seen that shit before. I'm also not too fond of Dr Stylish's fight. I'm not someone who thinks bigger is better, so when I just saw that he's be a generic giant monster guy fight I was disappointed. Also, the fight against Kurome's puppets was also really damn lame. It wasn't a fight that felt like anything was on the line. It felt like another episode of them just fighting some random ass enemies that didn't even matter. Same with the latest episode against the demons. Seriously, it felt so rushed. The demons are decently major characters, so for them to be dead in 3 minutes was just unsatisfying. This is more ranting, so I'll stop. [/spoiler] But it has Esdeath in it, so all it's flaws are forgiven. Also, Ninja Trigger, your sig is changing very often O.o[/quote]

[spoiler=Minor Spoilers] I mean, going through a character's backstory is one thing, but just giving us a huge information dump just feels like lazy and rushed storytelling. I'm not feeling the deaths (Other than Chelseas because fuck she was so awesome and that was way too brutal) for most of the characters. As much as I liked Bols, and as sad as his death was meant to be in theory, I really didn't feel it. I mean, it's sad that his last moments were him grasping out for his family and all, but the fact that the only family interaction we saw was just one small scene in the episode before really didn't aid to the pain. And literally 30 seconds before he gets killed he speaks about how he wants to eat with everyone just feels rushed, as if they just feel like they haven't established enough of a relationship for that character, and they just want to thrust forward something last second so it'll feel like it would make an impact just feels really damn lazy. But what if it is supposed to feel distant as this story revolves around a corrupt empire and assassins trying to kill all 'evil'. I am not saying that the author is trying to do so. It all just seems that way. After all (especially in manga and anime) you can't just introduce a character, develope a bond to the reader and then kill him/her off. This would bring a huge uproar to communities and modern authors are kinda forced to meet the needs of their 'fanbase' instead of doing what they want. Obviously, exceptions do exist, but because of lacking fanbase in the main selling country (japan) those do not really get through. Allthough some awesome mangas are out there, just,sadly, not very popular.[/quote]
