also I don't bother downloading anime (because I can find pretty much all of it on crunchyroll for free) but I don't see what the big deal is about not having enough space or something, just download 1 anime, watch it, delete it, move onto another.
Delete it? No, no no. If I enjoyed it I keep it. If not, which probably happens after the 3 or 4 first episodes, I stop downloading it and throw the episodes in a "Dropped anime" folder.
Also, I'd rather keep buying external 300Gb HDD every 4 months for 50$ each (150$ a year for something I watch on a daily basis for a couple of hours each day isn't bad at all) than delete it.

That's a little crazy O.o
Just keep series you liked would consider watching again.
Throw the entire thing away if you're dropping it. It's just a waste of space..

Or just get 2TB internal drives for 100$ :P
Prices on external drives are often very inflated (here at least), try buying some good cheap external chassis and just mount the hard drive of your choice in there.

Ya I don't get why you would do that
This seems like a much better option
If you want Internal

Yea, but it's a pretty minor difference for the overall experience.
The only time where it might be an annoyance is in dialogue-heavy sequences, but even then it's nothing big.
In Nichijou they use a different font and black borders instead of grey ones.
How many series from them have you watched again?

STOP IT WITH THESE ******ED LISTS.
All fan-sub groups have different strengths and vary in quality between releases, even in the same group.
It's really hard to make a definite statement on which ones are good and bad and especially so to rank them. Just use your ****ing brain, stop making ******ed lists, please.

Also, im not worried about storage. I have around 2.5 terabytes of space which I can use for anime
I was saying that 1080p is space consuming on behalf of all the people who don't have this much space

...Which is even more stupid..
Again, use your ****ing brain.
Let those people decide that for themselves. Don't tell people what they want, it's just mindbogglingly stupid --.--

If you're looking for DVD/Blu-ray quality in anime, make sure you actually look for DVD rip or BD rip or something like that in the torrent title. If it just says 1080p, it could be the CR 1080p version, which I'm not really sure how they get to the larger size. If someone happens to know, I'd love to learn. (Searz, this isn't actually aimed at you, FYI.)
Ah, I see. Why quote me then?..
Also, DVD is not even 720p, so a 1080p dvd-rip would be ****ing terrible :P
(only BD is 1080p)

Im sorry i have not seen all their releases, and after the **** job they did on monogatari, im not going to trust them too much. Im only everygoing to take things from when its a pure rip, unmodified. Their madoka release is actually nice becuase they didnt do anyting to the subs. I think they only added a heavy grain

What is a "pure", "unmodified" rip?

I can see many things, but what are you referring to?
Explain properly please.

Largely because my comment was directly related to what you said, even if it wasn't actually a reply. I know, from my own experience reading long threads, that it can be really hard for someone new to the topic to follow what's going on if people aren't quoting heavily.

Cudd's young, cut him a break. Things can't be different without being really different, ya' know?
Searz wrote:

Yes, Cudd explaining things would be nice. But he hasn't so:
I assume he's talking about the list of fixes? Although, honestly, I like the open-ness of listing the fixes instead of black boxing them and I'd rather see the sub group fixing things instead of leaving them broken. Not breaking things in the first place would be ideal, but if I try to demand perfection I'm just going to get let down.
Or he could be talking about the 10-bit experiment, which I'd assume is just an encoding trial (I consider this assumption relatively educated). Of course, since 10-bit encoding is meant to remove some of the issues of standard 8-bit encoding, I don't see why this would be an issue unless the experiment's a massive failure, in which case I'd reasonably expect Coalgirls to re-release the series using their standard 8-bit encoding.
From the comments there seem to be a few other issues, but largely with the endings, and I don't actually care about that, although Cudd might. I assume he's not complaining about the dialogue modifications, either, since he previous said that Coalgirls' translations are fine.

Yea, exactly, I see it as a good thing rather than a bad thing.
From what I've seen of Coalgirls so far they seem great for someone like me that doesn't want quick releases and just wants quality stuff.
Well encoded stuff trumps translated book titles any day of the week for me :P

I literally just said i'm archiving.
Also, torrenting anime gives you quality subtitles and picture.
I would much rather watch an anime at 720p or 1080p over 480p
crunchyroll has 1080p and 720p for free quite frequently, and SD is 576 which is a hell of a lot better than 480p and there's honestly a barely noticeable difference between 576 and 720.
