Iceborn Gauntlet or Trinity Force on Nasus?

Ever since I could remember, Trinity Force has been a core item on Nasus. However, with the introduction of Iceborn Gauntlet, I have found an amazing contender for the role. There are drawbacks to grabbing Gauntlet, including losing Siphoning Strike stacks due to the AoE, but the slow is amazing and gives him a better team presence.

I prefer Iceborn Gauntlet. It feels like a better investment in general. When I purchase Trinity Force the Zeal is helpful; however, it is not effective for Nasus and felt like a waste of money. However, it was the only item at the time that included Sheen so I would complete Trinity Force regardless. Now with the addition of Iceborn Gauntlet, it feels like it gives him all the stats that he needs, and none of the gold is wasted in its purchase.

Yes, Zeal was only minutely useful for the attack speed, crit chance and movement speed bonus, completely agree. It's a shame he won't build Trinity anymore, but Gauntlet is so amazing, I almost don't care :P

I like the idea for Iceborn A LOT to be honest. The big thing about triforce was sheen proc + tankyness (AS is nice due to his passive, but comparing that to armor AND cdr, I'm pretty sure Iceborn wins).

What good HP items would you get for Nasus? Sunfire Aegis? And what about MR now that FoN is gone?

lifesteal*, lol. Unless Nasus has a passive lifestyle.
Wish I could edit these things... :(

I'd be tempted to go for Spirit Visage actually, considering his passive lifestyle and especially if you get Warmog's Armor. QSS works but it's generally more to keep squishy carries and assassins out of danger.

Also with Wither and Iceborn Gauntlet, that's a huge amount of slow. You probably don't need Mallet on top of that, and certainly not Rylai's.

Mercurial Scimitar is a really good trade for FoN :P also Warmog's Armor gives now the HP regen. You can get movement from other items aswell.

I think Frozen Mallet gives you permaslow as well :P Either way, runic bulkwark seems nice but I feel like I don't have a really good MR item and the lack of zeal + fon MS boost gets him kited harder than before :/

As Nasus deals magic damage with Spirit Fire and Fury of the Sands, Sunfire Aegis just seems to compliment these abilities so well. I've been considering finishing off the build with a Rylai's Crystal Scepter for permaslow, but don't want to go overboard :P

    Trinity Force
is better overall if you're doing good in stacks ex. 200+ by 15 minutes, I would only get
    Iceborn Gauntlet
because i'm behind and need to be able to do damage in teamfight and on towers.

Maybe for top lane Nasus TF could be better but with Jungle Nasus, who just is never going to have a Insta Kill Q I love Iceborn. With Spirit of the Ancient Golem, Iceborn Guantlets and Spirit Visage I get my full 40 cdr, large chunk of armor, MR, health and improved healing. You also become a great split pusher since unless super fed, no one is coming to take you out of the lane alone! with about 250 on my q it's already doing about 600 damage with IBG, TF could do more, but so many useless stats on it for Nasus in my opinion

To me it's up in the air. Iceborn Gauntlet to me is when you are more of the lead tank in the fight and need more of an Area presence. However if you need to go carry-mode Nasus Trinity Force is a better option. In my opinion.

Nasus just wants the Phage slow and the Sheen proc.

Zeal is a BIG waste on Nasus, except for Move Speed, but you can get boot upgrades for that.

Iceborn Gauntlet gives the tankiness and slow of Phage, plus the Sheen proc, AND CDR.

Iceborn Gauntlet > Trinity Force on Nasus.

With Iceborn Gauntlet you lose a little AD and HP (and some kind of wasted stats...), but you get a better slow, armor and CDR instead, totally worths it. The AoE effect also performs better anytime there are more than 1 enemy.
