^This. Quit because YOU actually want to quit, not because a bunch of people make the game not fun for you, otherwise you won't likely keep to it or feel okay with it in the long run. I mean, I didn't eventually stop playing because of other people (including people who have made me feel bad about myself at various times about the game as a whole, in case any of those people feel guilty). I stopped playing because, one, the game was actually making me feel terrible about myself on its own (and Xenu knows I don't need any more of that) and, two, I've lost utter interest in playing it because it feels stale.

It didn't make me feel bad about myself for any other reason than knowing perfectly well that I SHOULD be able to get past my general disdain for competition, but realizing I really do just hate it and am all too willing to just be okay with things like not losing lane or going even up when little more effort of being aggressive could put me at outright winning lane (which really only happens when I'm very angry).

So I slowly, but inevitably, quit.

It just wasn't worth it to me anymore. Dealing with it was making me feel physically and emotionally drained. I was crying because of how it made me feel fairly often (feel free to laugh at this, because it's as dumb as it sounds), because, as much as I hated everything it stood for in my life (yet another failure and one that I was constantly reminded of), I also really cared about it and, stupidly, what others would think if I gave it up. Probably time to give it a long break, no?

Unless you're like me and actually have a personal reason that just naturally leads you to quit playing (with high likelihood of trying to start over entirely IF I decide to play again), I highly suggest you rethink quitting, because you don't actually want to quit.

Actually long breaks are not an issue as I work on ships hence normally I'm only home for 4-8 weeks and then off for 4-6 months. And when I am on board I only get to play once in a while in an Internet Café.

I have no idea what went wrong but the community have changed significantly since (I would say) mid S4.

Yes, you are absolutely right if I want to QUIT it has to be ME and not because other players made me doing it. But the only problem is I've been playing this game since S2 and having fun with it but somehow it just doesn't happen anymore. When every second game is just absolutely screwed - and I am not talking about defeat or victory but the gameplay if you know what I mean - it is very hard to enjoy it.

I've been playing since season one. Despite improvement since then, my utter lack of competitive drive seems to have held me back pretty much entirely (I have improved with every season, yet basically not moved out of 1200-1400 effective Elo my entire time playing). It 100% has only stood as another massive failure in my mind for the last two seasons, because no matter how much I improve, I never have (and maybe never will) played the game to win, which makes it nearly impossible for any improvement to matter. Quitting wasn't even a conscious decision on my part, I just eventually stopped playing (though I do, generally, keep up with changes).

Demn feels :^|

I'm feeling like I will stop from playing League because of my situation now. Here in college, surviving one week with a specific small amount of money, my laptop is junk, I have to spend money just to play. It may be hard, but we'll see in the next few days.

Anyway, THAT ICON FOR ACT 3 IS HARD AS F AND I PREDICT THAT I WILL NOT GET IT. AND I JUST BOUGHT Gangplank A DAY BEFORE THE IS DISABLED. AND I RECEIVED NEWS THAT HE WILL GET A VU AGAIN (THE ARM). FUUUUUUU--
Sig made by me!

None of the people I actually care about think less of me for it, though a few lament the idea of me quitting permanently.

I played League on a piece of **** laptop for years. The computer I started playing the game on was on "low" from the get-go and it was less than a month old when I started playing the game. My new laptop sits at 60-70 fps on average with the highest settings (it's almost a year old now), but my ping is so frickin' terrible and inconsistent now that it's just as much of an issue as playing at a maximum of 25 fps with constant short freezes was when my old laptop was near the end of its career.

Though, for whatever reason, my ping on EUW was significantly less problematic than on NA (which makes no sense, but whatever). I was dealing with anywhere from 80-5k ping on NA while sitting mostly at a pretty consistent 140-180 on EUW. I don't even know anymore.

I am a bit late to the party, but how is not playing to win so terrible? Just play normals for fun or something.

i used to play on a laptop that sat at 20-40 fps and in the worst moments around 5-20 fps :')

Lol, sounds pretty much like me trying to play Skyrim with an ENB installed xD I am playing on a laptop too, but I have very stable FPS, it is more than enough to run LoL without much problems. Still had to disable shadows, tho, teamfights were a nightmare with that option on.
