I thought about a Rammus build with armor marks, armor/lvl seals, mr/lvl glyphs and armor/lvl quints, getting 4 of Sterak's Gage, Trinity Force and Mercury's Treads - Homeguard. But he is the only one I could think of that has enough build in armor and mr to do this (he also has the highest base armor in the game)

The interesting thing I found about Garen, you no longer have to act to win the game, you are much better now at reacting, as your lategame is way stronger. This also increases your advantage against enemies that have to snowball to do something.
Also, holy moly Sterak's Gage as first item singlehandedly wins you the lane, as the shield is just waay to strong.
BTW: Sterak's Gage Wilding Claw Udyr.

The whole "stacking Steraks'" thing can be efficient gold wise (kinda) but the benefits don't seem to outweigh the opportunity cost of not having any of the other passives/stats you could have.
