Would aftershock+bone plating be good? I played cho gath jungle as one of my very first champs and when I started I kinda just grabbed some runes off a ****py third party site, just for the sake of having runes, and I used those runes basically for the next few months until I bothered to look up a guide. I've found that aftershock+bone plating is good for a playstyle where you want to invade and harass the enemy jungler a lot. Predator is definitely the better choice for ganking, but with aftershock I would often pressure for scuttles and enemy camps to try and force a fight with the enemy jungler, and if I win, I could come gank without retaliation from the enemy jungler, and when we have lane prio I can get objectives fast and outsmite the enemy jg with smite+ult if they stick around. With bone plating aftershock, my initial combo and burst deals quite a bit of damage, and I take very little damage from their combo thanks to silence, knockup, aftershock's resistance boosts and bone plating, so by the time the initial exchange at scuttle is over, the enemy jungler is almost dead while Im still at full. And once I get R, 1v1ing me early game gets significantly harder for the enemy jungler. There are only a couple of junglers who Ive faced who can 1v1 me effectively, with the only one that hard outscales me being kindred. This playstyle of fcking up the enemy jungler to get lane prio and objectives usually wins me the game. My ganks rarely result in a kill, but it gives me prio, and after that objectives, and the enemy jungler cant retaliate with their own gank because I either killed or almost killed them when I invaded them. I haven't found this strategy of fighting the enemy jgler for objectives instead of ganking anywhere on reddit or anything, so I wanted to know from a pro if this was a ****ty strategy and if I am doing it all wrong and should immediately switch to predator, but I'm not completely sure its a garbage terrible strat because I get loads of s's when making use of it.

oh yeah, and aftershock has a 20 sec cooldown, so if the initial combo doesn't win me the scuttle 1v1 I can run away, smite something, and come back 20 secs later to do it again.

That's a perfectly valid strategy, in fact, some junglers are better at it than ganking. They **** up the enemy jungler by invading or fighting as you say.
I haven't been playing jg lately as I started to main Cassiopeia and became sort of an OTP, but I can say that your strategy definitely is worth the shot. The only problem I see is that when landing Q and W, the enemy will usually try to escape instead of fighting back, so I don't think Aftershock is really getting value in 1v1s, so I prefer Predator just to chase better, since I still fight the enemy jungler like you do, maybe I take a little more damage, but that's okay.
Anyways, when I can I will give it a shot and maybe will add another runepage to the guide, thank you for your ideas!:D

Hey there,

You made an application in the guide review thread, so here it is! (sorry, it is a bit late, although you don’t seem to be short on the review supply xD)

Looking back, perhaps I was a bit too enthusiastic on the spelling part...

Anyway, that’s it, use what you want & I hope it helps. Feel free to reply if you have any questions/remarks.

Good luck with updating & upgrading your guide and have a nice day!

Don't worry about being enthusiastic on the spelling part, that's exactly what I was missing in other reviews. English isn't my first language so I always make some mistakes, so THANK YOU, I will correct all of them.
I will also add some of the things you suggest in the items section, I hadn't noticed that I didn't explain correctly when to buy what, so thank you!!

Is he good at 1v1 early game? So can I just rush in and kill easily or does it depend on what champion and how fed they are?

bluelunged (6) | May 7, 2020 6:27pm
He is good, and you can rush and kill easily, but he's not an 1v1 champion. That means that you have to know the matchups, it depends on the enemy champion.
For example: An enemy Xin Zhao, Olaf or Lee Sin can easily win an 1v1 because of the sustain or because they can avoid your damage. On the other hand, a Fiddlesticks or Kayn have no way of winning if you fight on the jungle. For ganking is the same, you can't just go and gank the 2/0 enemy darius, even with your toplaner, you have to be careful.
I think cho's strenght relies in the fact that once you have landed your first AA they have no way of escaping you (even more with red buff), so if you are invading and the enemy starts trying to escape instead of fighting, you probably have a kill there (if you land your q obviously). ALso, level 6 is a huge powerspike in your kill potential.
TL DR: Be careful, learn your matchups, and once you're level 6 maybe relax a bit.

Hey bluelunged, here's the review you requested:

Click For Review

This is what I'd consider a "midrange" guide in terms of depth and quality. You've started getting a bit into the real meaty gameplay stuff and the basic info & formatting is mostly there. Other than some of the visual improvements I suggested in my review, I think the biggest goal I'd recommend focusing on is expanding the depth of information you have to really teach people how to win games as Cho. More information on matchups, team fighting, jungle tracking and post-first-clear pathing would be helpful. Other potential topics you could cover would be more specific ganking tips (like how to set up dives, lane ganks or how to time when to go in) or advice on how best to use Control Wards. There's a lot of directions you could go, but overall, more content would be good to see in the future. What you have here is a great start and already has enough info to help new Cho'Gath jungle players get started, but if you keep adding to the guide over time, it could become a really great resource.

Hope you find this review helpful. Good luck with your guide!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you took the time to review my guide. I took into account your comments and upgraded a lot of the stuff here. I'm not done yet, I plan on adding a couple more things here and there to fullfill everything you said.
Could you review it again after I'm finished?
Again, thanks a lot for your time <3
