Hey there from season 12, just saying that your guide is still stellar to newbie Taliyahs like me, thanks!

I'm glad that it was still helpful! No guarantee, but I hope to fully update it in the following months...

Hey there! First and foremost, thanks for the awesome guide! I do sure enjoy playing Taliyah support.
I've been wondering - is Shurelya's Battlesong actually an decent mythic item? Considering the gold cost, is it ever worth taking that over e.g. Ludens?

Cheers again for an through an through awesome guide!

Hey there, first of all thanks for the kind words!

About Shurelya's Battlesong; I've never actually tried it on her yet, as it's a really bad item for her on paper. Taliyah offers no shields/heals, so she loses out on the Movement Speed-granting passive. The active is nice to have if your team lacks some engage though.

The thing is, there are many champions that make better use of the item ( Rakan, Lulu, Zilean, Karma) or that fill the engaging niche just way better ( Leona, Alistar, Nautilus, Galio). Taliyah will always stay more of a damage oriented support. Combine that with the fact that Taliyah already has some okay-ish engage with Weaver's Wall and Shurelya's Battlesong feels like a waste.

Out of the cheaper support mythics there simply isn't really an item that works well on Taliyah.

I'll try out Shurelya's Battlesong for you and will give you an update on how it went. But if it interests you, go ahead and try for yourself. Finding out what works for you is more important than blindly following a meta. (Although I believe it's an objectively worse item.)

I hope this helps at least a little.

This guide litterally has so much to offer, even though taliyah players are mostly jgl top and supp it's amazing to see how well detailled this guide is.
It's important to mention the details on the jungle monsters, the basics of wave management and "taxing" that most players don't understand at all.
This guide truly is good for experimented players and new players alike, the amount of information can seem a bit too much but I think it's fine the way it is, I mean every cases are covered, so, yeah, amazing guide!

Hey man, love this guide and it sure deserves more attention. I just wanna know if you'll be updating this guide for 11.15?

Silverman43 (85) | July 31, 2021 1:15pm
Hey there, thanks a lot for the kind words! The guide is still updated, nothing of importance has changed in the meantime, I just tend to forget republishing :p
Now it's officially updated for 11.5, there you go!

Archy TheArchitect (1) | August 3, 2021 8:06am
Oh, by the way, I noticed that you still have some old items mentioned in "Jungling" (for example Hunter's Talisman, etc.) I don't think it's completely necessary to update it, but it would be nice.

First off, Amazing guide and criminally underrated for the amount of effort and time you put into it. SO thank you for helping me understand how much I love this champ.

But I wanted to say that when I watch pro players playing Taliyah jungle I see them going Phase Rush as their main rune with Domination as their secondary and wondered if there was any strong reasoning behind this and how it compares to the runes suggested in your guide. Thank you

Silverman43 (85) | January 8, 2021 4:57am
Hey there, to start with your question, Phase Rush definitely is a viable rune choice for jungle Taliyah. However, it is more of a situational choice. Dark Harvest is imo still overall the best choice because of how it works great with her kit and gives her some much needed power later on since Taliyah is an early game oriented champion that requires you to snowball to stay relevant. Now for Phase Rush, it can be taken against certain teamcomps or in certain matchups, mainly against champions that you can't really burst down in one rotation of your abilities, so mainly against tanks/bruiser (think of Olaf, Volibear, Nunu & Willump, Graves...). You'll end up being more effective against those champions if you can consistently kite and hit them with several Threaded Volley's. Against bruisers it's also important to keep your distance, which makes Phase Rush also a safe choice.

I'd say try it out and decide for yourself which rune you feel the most comfortable with. Or alternate between the 2 depending on the situation.
I hope this helps!

And secondly, thanks for the kind words! Whether or not this guide might be underrated, it's here to help people, so when I hear from people it was helpful it's all worth the time and effort. :)

Have a nice day!

Yo, can we copystrike this guide? It crashed my phone while reviewing. I'm just joking. xd
Hope you didn't missed me. ;)

So, what a lovely guide we have here. I remember how powerfull Taliyah was in S8 or S9? Don't really remember. Quite a strong champion on Jungling was a few seasons ago. Ngl, hated when she one-shotted me. Also, you won the guide contest on this guide. Congrats. :3
Also, you should do a "counters" chapter one day.
You have an upvote from me, pal!

In conclusion, here's the note from 1 to 10: paper > rock ;333

Tbh I would have been disappointed if it didn't crash your phone. Would have meant that there was not enough content yet. ;)

I picked her up in S8 I think? Then she was top tier. But don't worry, I can still oneshot you as Taliyah!

See, I do not have any reason to be jealous. xD Thanks!

Regarding a "counters" or "matchups" section, I personally hate to write that kind of chapters since it takes super long and the correctness of the info depends a lot on external factors like teamcomps, skill level... In short: I'm lazy. xD But maybe one day who knows...

Thanks for the kind words and the upvote! <3

I’ve played quite a lot of Taliyah in roles other than jungle, bot and support being my favorites, usually dark harvest and electrocute are my main runes for support, but in tougher matchups where I can’t really burst them, I’ve started going arcane comet, and it’s been working pretty well for me.
1
Silverman43 (85) | November 7, 2020 9:41am
Hey there, Arcane Comet definitely can work on Taliyah if you plan on playing more poke-oriented. IMO Dark Harvest and Electrocute still work better since only the slow from Unraveled Earth allows you to hit the comet consistently. But against immobile enemies and if you get a Rylai's Crystal Scepter early on, it can be quite decent I guess. I might add it to the guide if I get time to test it.
Thanks for your comment.

You don't need to cc for Comet, you can just poke with Q to proc it, especially with 1 mana cost Q

not sure what I'm doing wrong but she seems really bad when it comes to clearing camps. I find myself falling way behind in CS compared to enemy jungle as well as dying/nearly dying to certain camps despite using good combos to deal with them. I can't go through more than 2 camps without having to recall. Any tips on what I should do? Is there a good lane pick to start practicing her with other than jungle?

Silverman43 (85) | September 17, 2020 2:18am
Hey there, first of all sorry for the kinda late reply.
Taliyah definitely is a tricky champion to clear camps with. I assume you find the first clear the hardest right? It definitely is rough, can't deny that. Either way, it will get better by practicing often. Here are some tips & tricks if you struggle with clearing:

  • Take the 6 armor rune shard in the last row. It will help you negate quite a lot of damage from the monsters. Also go for the attack speed in the first row, it makes the early clear easier.
  • Kiting is key, the easiest camp to kit is the blue sentinel , but all camps can be kited to some extent in order to reduce the damage you'll take. I also highly recommend using the attack move command when you play ranged champions in the jungle. It makes kiting while clearing a lot easier.
  • Don't hesitate to use Smite or potions to heal up a bit.
  • If you path from topside to botside, you can use Unraveled Earth once to hit the crimson raptor camp. Then proceed to get the red brambleback while Hunter's Talisman heals you quite a bit because of the passive, which is really efficient against camps with a lot of monsters like with the raptor camp.
  • Taliyah excels at ganking and skirmishes so you should try to gain a lead from those situations. The gold and items you'll earn in that way will benefit your clearing in return. Another important thing to note is Ravenous Hunter. By playing more aggressively early, you'll be able to stack it and make your jungle clearing healthier.
  • If you still struggle with the first clear as Taliyah, get 3 Health Potions instead of Refillable Potion. You'll have way more sustain, but the downside is that it's less gold efficient.

Here is a video I just recorded of me doing the first clear as Taliyah. This example is far from perfect though (no leash, I held onto my potions and Smite for too long...), but it does showcase some of the tips & tricks.

I will add the tips & tricks and a better video example in the full guide when I'll have more time.

And if you don't want to play Taliyah in the jungle, I highly recommend playing her midlane. She's about equally strong midlane and jungle. It still gives you good roam and gank potential while having access to more gold and exp with less struggles.

Hope this helps for now!

will u suggest glacia for main runes along sorcery becuse i saw ure build have twin shadow allthough i know its for ganking lot more ez but dont u think it would be beter if it combind with glacia since taliyas abillity need a little skill shot?
1
Silverman43 (85) | September 6, 2020 4:47am
Yes it's possible to run Glacial Augment on Taliyah, but I do not recommend it. Other keystones feel better IMO and hitting her skillshots definitely gets easier the more you practice her. I also don't like having Inspiration as the primary rune path, as most minor runes are rather situational on Taliyah while Domination or Sorcery runes are often more useful.
But to give a straight answer: yes, you can use Glacial Augment on Taliyah, but it's a very specific playstyle and I don't recommend it above other keystones.
Hope this helps.

Nice guide but I have thought something about jungle and I don't know at all if it can work. Can you get at your first back a doran item? At any jungler not only Taliyah
1
Silverman43 (85) | August 31, 2020 8:20am
I don't think getting a Doran item as a jungler is a good idea. They really are oriented towards laning and you often lose part of its value by building it as a jungler. (For example Doran's Shield gives regeneration after trades/poke.) If you buy it as a jungler you basically delay your core items for some stats that are inefficient. And a lot of junglers already have to wait to get their most important items because of the jungle items.

Next season there will be an item overhaul, with major changes to the jungle items (you won't have to upgrade jungle item anymore, similar to the support items rework this season). Maybe then it might become viable, but we will have to wait to find out. For now, I won't recommend it.
