I dislike guides that don't have much colour or images.

I dislike guides that are outdated (with screenshots of Season One Victory Screens, items that no longer exist, incorrect item build paths {for example, Meki Pendant > philosopher's stone} and very incorrect information { Malady gives life steal} and yet, despite all this, they are still in the top five. I came across a Sona guide today. I believe it's third. It recommended buying Innervating Locket and Zhonya's Ring. A comment posted a few days ago said, "Can anyone tell me where to find Innervating Locket and Zhonya's Ring in the item shop?"

I like seeing guides that are in-depth and explain abilities well (for instance, I didn't know Irelia could life steal from towers. Master Yi gains 100 Armour and Magic Resist using his heal o.O).

I like seeing guide builders replying to the comments and changing their builds to reflect feedback.

Pretty much sums up the majority for me. I hate out of dated guides. And guides that don't change despite the game changing.

And guides that show no flexibility. Like the usual "Here is my guide. These are the items it uses. It works." that you see out there.

There is no such thing as too much good information. But there is plenty of bad information out there.
Did I manage to assist you in any way? Hook me up by hitting that nifty +Rep button.

All guides have been archived due to my not being able to play LoL currently. The information is still there and is good but until I return they will be archived. I am able to keep them updated and current though.

Ranked games are so bad for you because you're playing your first 10 matches. They're placement matches and you can pretty much expect to play with and against noobs all the time. After you get placed players are gonna be better.

No they won't. As long as you're in 1200 elo it's going to be hell. Winning and losing is completely random. The team with the feeder/leaver always loses, and there's one in each game for sure. I have 37 wins and 37 losses. I have never played a ranked game where I couldn't say "We won because they had a feeder/leaver" or "We lost because we had a feeder/leaver". It's like a coin toss, the game is determined before you even accept.
You either go duo ranked or are extremely lucky in order to get out of ELO HELL

I got out of ELO hell. After a 10 matches or so. Just learn a low-ELO stomp-character and get yourself out of it.
Hell, I've carried feeders and trolls at 1.5K ELO as Nunu.

The secret is to encourage those who play a bit worse, not degrade them.

There is no elo hell. It's been proven time and time again that it doesn't exist. Stop saying it does..

The first 10matches were horrible. The matches at 1200-1300elo were much better.

Well, it could, theoretically(!) exist, mainly because when you start playing ranked, you will start at 1200 ELO by default.

A player who's played ~1000 normal games, but trying out his first ranked, a player with ~200 ranked games played with a 50% win ratio, or a fresh level 30 trying out a ranked right off the bat, would all have the potential to end up in the same game, and all these three players would have *very* different skill and experience.

Additionally, when you first start out your ranked gaming, you will lose/gain a lot more ELO (30-something), which will gradually decrease to the normal gain. If you get unlucky during those matches, you can fall very far down into the ELO bracket, making it even harder to climb up again.

I know I started out at like, 1000 ELO. And now I'm pending between 1.5K and 1.6K, so I doubt it does exist.

Very unlucky persons, however, do exist.

Source that players start out at 1.2K ELO

I'm just not going to play Ranked games until the reset for Season Three. Then I'll wait for three weeks for everyone to be in their correct ELO. Then I'll play. Unless I'm incredibly unlucky, hopefully the people I end up playing with will be half decent.

But back on topic:

I don't think people should be making guides below level 20. 25 is probably okay. All I know is that even when I hit level 30 I was still learning a whole lot. I have 330 wins, 320 defeats, and who knows how many Co-op vs AI/Custom games under my belt, and yet I still haven't played every single champion at least once.

I also believe below level 25s won't have enough IP to buy appropriate runes. I've seen some guides that only have 6 Marks/Glyphs/Seals, and no Quints because "I'm not level 30 yet, so I don't have all the runes".

Additionally, I dislike seeing screenshots of example k/d/a ratios that don't show if it's co-op vs ai, or custom, or whatever. I especially don't like to see screenshots where the person is still receiving XP points because they're not level 30 =.= This leads me to believe that, sure, that build might be great against people who don't know how to counter it, but what if I, as a level 30 with over 600 games played altogether, tried that build of 3 Phantom Dancers, Mobility Boots and a Tiamat?

Best idea. I'll try it out ASAP.

Blatant trolling aside, I don't see the problem with it, really. If someone has experience with a champion that they play well with, why shouldn't they be allowed to make a guide, just because they're not level 30 yet? Sure it might not be entirely accurate, or optimal, but it could still have great ideas, or maybe learn the author a thing or two through the comments?

He's got a point. My Karma guide, made around Lv 23. My best guide and I still stand by it.

haha! Make sure to get an Infinity Edge too. You kill ALL the Wraiths with one shot (as Ashe), it's actually pretty fun.

I'm hesitant to upload a guide/build here because every champion already has 15-20 builds for it and I don't want to flood the pages. In the same vein, I think inexperienced players might clog up the guides even more so. I don't know what I'm trying to say, lol, without sounding fair.

Okay, here's a better example.

You're a first year university student, writing up a psychology report on IQ (which, sadly, is what I had to do). To write up this report, you have to draw upon at least 10 published articles for reference.

Imagine if one of those published articles was made by someone who just entered psychology and didn't really know much about IQ, but wrote it anyway because they knew a little bit about IQ?

My own report would have incorrect information (say "IQ ranges through 1 to 650", or "IQ stands for Intelligence Quiz"), and I would get a bad grade. Yes, it's my fault for referencing that bad article, but how was I supposed to know the person who wrote it was 18 years old and got it published in her father's Quirkology newspaper that only circulates in a country town in the middle of nowhere?

I hope that example wasn't too convoluted...
