Hi Guys,

i played Shyvana several times, i got 2 possibilities the Tanky and the DPS Shyvana. But if u play a game 30+ mins and u watch ur DMG screen u recognize that shyvana is dealing a lot of AP Dmg. So what do you think about a full AP Build with her. I think about Items like Lich Bane, Rabadons and Hextech Gunblade ... what is your opinion about that?

Full AP Doesn't really work. That Magic Damage is coming from Burnout, which scales AD, more than it comes from Flame Breath and Dragon's Descent however there are a variety of AP items that Shvana can use. Malady would work as well as Rylai's Crystal Scepter but I'll have to look at other items. I don't think straight AP will work on Shyvana she is too reliant on AS and AD for that

It's definitely doable, though I wouldn't recommend it in most situations. But if you build her heavy on the AP side of things, your dragon form flame breath is stupidly good. Also, AP Shyv still dishes out a lot of melee damage. I'd say the main drawback to it is your mid-game can be a little worthless if you're under-farmed. When I build her AP, I throw a point in Flame Breath at level 1, Burnout and Twin Bite at level 2 and 3 depending on what I need first, max Flame Breath, and then max Twin Bite. I open with Boots and rush a Sheen, build a Giant's Belt, then finish my Ionian Boots of Lucidity. I then work to a Rylai's Crystal Scepter and a Rabadon's Deathcap, followed by Lich Bane, Hextech Gunblade, and finally, some utility item, completely dependent on the game. This opening is fairly solid, giving you a lot of easy farming potential as well as poke and quick burst potential. The late game is moderately squishy, so you have to be careful with positioning, but the damage output of your Dragon's Descent and dragon form Flame Breath will go a long ways in team fights.

In summary, AP heavy Shyvana is viable, in my opinion, but less stable than a bruiser setup. (Though being able to nearly match Annie's burst potential does help the case to a degree).

I have been playing several games trying this exact idea. She can be very much the bruiser type but dealing that damage with AP instead of AD. I built a guide around it seeing how pretty much there isn't one for the AP Shyv. It has been very effective for me and also note its a jungle build.

Nifty thing is that the Rylai's works with Burnout and Flame Breath. If you want to look at it in more detail:

Have used it a bunch of times and although I never have actually completed the last few items due to games ending it works pretty well.

Hm if AP shyvana is viable at all, it would be with nashors tooth, guinsoos and TF because you NEED the passive of the E skill(I mean the passive of Shyvana for E) to really do something at all with 0.6 and 0,7 scales...

The problem with AP shyv is you're rather squishy, and outside of dragon form/team fights, not highly effective. you need that AoE E damage to do any sort of effective contributing. And your single target Q damage falls off a bit after mid game. Lich bane can contribute a bit to that, but it requires you to be in their face. risky move for a squishie.
