iirc... that was the rule for the longest time. I have no idea what changed to make it as it is now.

Because there was no reason not to allow it. If vets are as picky with their selection as they should have been then that shouldn't be a problem. I know I was (I haven't recced a single vet guide but the noob guide made by Mowen).

I just want to get a couple questions out there to vets.

When recommending a guide, do you look at build quality or guide quality first?

What do you look for in a guide deserving of a rec?

I think these are two important questions that need to be clearly defined by the entire vet group as a whole, and it would definitely get the rec system moving in the right direction.

Thanks to Xiaowiriamu for the sig!

Now the idea that vets are some of the best guide writers is inherently bias. Im not saying it isnt true. But im confident that there are or have been better guides written by non vets. But because you get a green name and a title (something i admitidly would love) your guide somehow has more weight to it. Which then automatically gives you a leg up on everyone else.

Nope. It's just easier to notice a guide made by someone with a green name. More attention=more everything

Yeah... I agree, but in threads like this it's just useful, because you could very easily lose track.

How about some opinions on my idea... bottom of page 8 ;)

Advertisement..? I don't see what you mean. Afaik linking my guides in my signature is allowed... and I didn't link them in any of the posts I made. If you mean I advertise my idea then yes, I personally like it and I hadn't received a reply in like 8 posts... don't want it to get buried under a pile of posts.

But this just derails further and further ._. I seem to have that effect on threads :x

Build, then guide, but if the guide doesn't have a good build AND guide I don't consider it rec worthy.

Yea, but a better (I think) system is on the way.
