Meh, hack and slash games are pretty boring in general...
In almost every situation, if you properly build your character, you can just spam ****, and win.

It's the most repetitive genre ever, and it isn't just individual games that are repetitive, the games are also repetitive of each other. :/

I've found similar, but have you ever turned the difficulty up? Take Dungeons of Dredmor for example, crazy repetitive. The game actually tells you that your goal isn't to beat it, but to progressively get closer and closer to beating it until you can beat it entirely. While I haven't done much in the line of progressing far, I've play quite a bit and I've always got fun things to do.

Same deal with Torchlight, push the difficulty up and pop on Hardcore and see if you can make it.
Or if that doesn't work or you already are, play in a different style, back to Dungeons of Dredmor, always use Random skills, it really mixes the game up and makes it seem new.

Who remembers "Too Human"? Man I loved that game, even if it wasn't "amazing" by most people's standards. The gear and the combat made me feel like a ***********ing bad ***.

I borrowed that game from a friend a long time ago. I was never able to beat it, I got into it but then he wanted it back before I could finish. I've been tempted for a long time to just buy it for myself, but I haven't. I agree with you on the whole combat part, SO MUCH FUN!

@OP, to try an get this back on topic, I own TL1 and 2, but I've only started playing the first. I saw one of my dorm mates playing it and I watched him for a while and it looks even better than the first.
To be updated soon!

And Canoas. You're slightly more mentally damaged than Temzilla (shocker..) The game was bad, because everything in it was bad. I never stated "Diablo 3 is a bad game because it's a bad game." I listed the things in the game that were bad, that added together, ruined the game's entirety. I played and beat D3. there is no point of playing harder difficulties. I sold my account 3 days after launch to a friend for 25$ and I was done with it. It was a garbage game, I'm done with this VERY one-sided argument, that you lost.. I might add. You're only saying it's good because it's good.

You listed several aspects of the game and attributed them a quality with no reasoning whatsoever. I can easily do the same thing...

Diablo3 is a great game because the random gen is good, the story is good, the combat is good, the leveling is good, the servers are good, loot is good, RMAH is good, the grinding is good, the lack of side-quests is good.
Torchlight 2 is bad because random gen is bad, the story is bad, the combat is bad, the leveling is bad, the servers are bad, loot is bad, the lack of RMAH is bad, the grinding is bad, the lack of side-quests is bad. Anything I missed?

Using precisely the same logic you applied I just proved that D3 is better than Torchlight! It's settled then, I'm glad we both agree on how good D3 is.

It's sad the fact that now you look like an even bigger ****** than you were yesterday.

I'll actually use my own logic that you used against me against you.

The random generation, isn't even random. It's literally just the same rooms, stapled together in a different fashion. The RMAH is just Blizzard's failsafe so they don't lose money. the combat is just ****ing press mouse 1+2 and then you win, no balancing at all. the leveling is tied to grinding. If you like grinding, why did you waste 60$ on a 3D Maplestory. The servers are bad, because they're shared with the WoW and SC2 servers, meaning if one lags, you all lag, because Blizzard is too poor to buy more than one server. The lack of side-quests means that it's not even a good game. You have the same story, every time, no exceptions. It makes for a boring and bland second through fourt.. wait why the **** would anyone play this game past the first play through..

If you attempt to use this logic against me again, you'll look like a ****ing moron.

ALSO THE FACT THAT YOU NEED TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY SINGLEPLAYER IS BAD.
Thank you everyone for the sigs. <3

@moonedge
The generation is random, some maps have specific "rooms" that always appear, some have several pre-designed rooms and only a few random ones are "chosen", some are completely random.

The RMHA is Blizzard's way of fighting chinese farmers, hackers and scammers. It doesn't affect game play at all. The game remains the same with or without the RMHA.

The leveling is tied to the story in 3 different difficulty levels: normal, nightmare and hell. To get to max you need to clear each of these levels once.

If you like rice why don't you just eat the leftovers other people throw away in their trash? Just because maple story is a grinding game that doesn't mean every grinding game is like it. There are good and bad games, any ****** knows that, no matter what the genre is. Just because someone likes RPGs, Racing games, FPS, RTS or hack&Slash doesn't mean they should settle for the ****tiest game of each type. It's common sense, how can you not understand this?

The servers are not shared with WoW or SC2. Each game has separate servers and WoW has 3 servers per realm (possibly 4 now due to the Pandarian continent). This is not even an opinion, it's a fact, and blizzard's servers will not magically merge into one just because you think that's how they do it. But seriously, what kind of ****** would believe that all the blizzards games are in one giant server? That machine would need to be the most advanced piece of technology on the entire planet. If that was indeed true then you can be sure that Blizzard is definitely not poor as their server would be worth trillions of dollars.

There are plenty of side quests. The fact that you don't even know of their existence shows how little you know of the game.

How is having the same story a bad thing? Do you want them to randomize the story? "Oh ****, in this version tyrael dies and mankind is doomed, now I have to delete this character so I can get a better story." No, just no. The story is set, it's not supposed to change. Do you complain that a book is bad because ever time you read it it has the same story?

What you said is not logical at all. If that was logic then mankind would have never survived. It's mind boggling how you think you're the logical one here.

It's "mindboggling" how a 12 year old was able to play a rated M game.

Also, it appears to me, you might be a bit mad.

Just sayin'.

Again, I'll try and settle this.

D3 is bad because Hack and Slash games are bad.
Torchlight 2 is also bad because Hack and Slash games are bad.

There, now run along, and play League.

This, holy ****.

I enjoyed Diablo 3 as a STORY, LIKE READING A BOOK, OR WATCHING A MOVIE.
Tri lane for life.
