Why are you stuck in "Elo Hell"?

(a lot similar to the first one) Well I for one dont have a particular definition for it since I dont realy believe that Elo Hell even exists. First of all lets start by understanding what Elo is. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo..."[/i][/quote] So Elo is like a score that measures how good you are as a League of Legends player based on your performance. Putting it more simply, you gain Elo from winning games and loose Elo from lossing games. What does this mean? Well this means that every game that you do is like an experiment. Imagine that you are playing your very first ranked game. You'll start with a 1200 Elo and right in your first game the Elo system will try to decide: Does this player belong to/deserves this Elo rating? And so you are paired with and against other players of similar Elo rating and you beggin your first ranked game. Well if you loose the system will decide that maybe you do not deserve to be in that Elo and so you loose a bit of Elo. But if you win the system will consider: Maybe this player is actualy realy good and doesnt deserve to be in such a low Elo? And so you win Elo. If you continue doing this you'll evntually reach a point where you win 50% of the games and loose the other 50% while gaining and loosing similar amounts of Elo in each game. This means that you've found what I like to call your "True Elo Zone" meaning that if you do a ranked game, you will be paried with and against players of a similar skill level to yours. So this means that in order for you to clim to a higher Elo rating you have to improve your skill level. Well when some players reach this zone they feel unconfortable with the skill level of their teammates and they say "I'm stuck in Elo Hell". But has we've seen before shouldn't the Elo system put you in your right place? Well yes it, does indeed, but League of Legends isn't a 1v1 game like chess (the Elo system was originaly designed for chess) so it isnt your singular performance that is being put to test, it's your team's. In order for you to gain Elo your team must succed and for that to happen it isnt enough that one player wins his lane. What most of these "stuck in Elo Hell" guys dont understand is that for you to gain Elo you can't just go 10-3-0 in lane. You have to actualy take an advantage of that to win the game. If you are the strongest player in your team you'll have to cary them to victory instead of waiting for them to succed on their own. And this is where general game mechanincs come to play. As I said before League of Legends is, on top off all, a team game. So a good League of Legends player is the one that is able to most efficiently coordinate himself with his team. It doesnt realy matter how fed or how farmed you are if the enemy team took all the dragons or a couple barons. They will be ahead in gold. It is even less significant if you are fed and dont help other lanes or join for teamfights. What good is a Garen if he stays top all game pushing when the enemy team is winning 5v4 teamfights without casualities and taking objectives uncontested? So this means that not only your individual skill level is reflected on your Elo but that actualy is your ability to cooperate with your team that gets your Elo higher or lower. So maybe the problem in me being stuck in my current Elo isn't my teammates but my inablity to cooperate with them? Well there's a nice line of thought right there. So what should I do to improve my game? Well in my opinion communication is realy important. Is your lane warded? Does your opponent has flash? Is their blue up? These are some realy valuable pieces of information that could have a lot of beneficial results toward leading your team to victory. Stick together. We've all seen those pro games when the entire team roams the map super early farming kills and objectives, pushing lanes and taking towers. Play safe. Yeah it might not be as funny but sometimes not flashing for the kill when you dont have a clue where their jungler is might be a realy good idea. Know your role in teamfights. Teamfights win games. Period. If you dont do your job in a teamfight wether it is keeping your caries alive, engaging into their caries, tanking the CC, you are screwing your team. And the list could go on but I think im going to end here. I hope that I made you thought a bit about Elo Hell. Remember its your job to raise your Elo not your teammates. Have fun, dont rage at teammates and good luck in solo queue. Explain me please, i qualified 6 times for the next tier but i always get tons of motherfukin piece of shit noobs that will feed or get caught doesnt matter how much you yell/ping them, i went down from 90 points to 0 now and im just tired of it...people just 1st pick and get countered or even counter themselves i just dont know how a god damned fly has more IQ than these people and then if you dodge riot has severe rules on that and you just get fucked up in any way...they wouldnt know what is common sense even if it came flying and got up their ass like a giant purpled dildo. Explain me please, [/quote] Learn to determine whether or not your team is absolute crap in champion select. If yes, 'support' as a carry, take your AD's CS, and dominate bot lane. Then, roam and pick up kills and snowball yourself into a win at 20 minutes.[/quote]
