The Jarvan from the last game asked me about that too. :P
Tiamat's active: Deals up to 100% of your Attack Damage to units around you - decaying down to 60% near the edge.
Talon's E places him right up in your face, so it always does 100% damage during his burst. Basically, Tiamat's active is an extra spell to add to your burst. Your burst changes from E Q W R to E Q W Tiamat R, and because the damage is 100% of your total AD, it transforms your burst from a 6 AD ratio to a 7 AD ratio. The cooldown is also shorter than the cooldown on your E, so it's always up at the same time as your burst.
Ravenous Hydra does more burst damage than BT by the time you have 86 AD or something, including your base AD. So even if you score a level 1 decakill and can get one of them, Hydra still out-bursts BT. However, the thing that's so fantastic about Hydra isn't the lifesteal being applied to its passive, or just the normal lifesteal it gives. It's just the active, you want that active to amplify your burst. That active is already present in Tiamat, and from there, it's 1200 gold to upgrade Tiamat into Hydra, just to gain 25 AD and lifesteal. Idc about lifesteal and 25 AD is super small, so after Brutalizer I rush Tiamat, and leave it at that until I've completed every single other item in my build.
So my core items are Brutalizer > Tiamat > BT.
Also, with Tiamat you do W > Tiamat and instantly clear an entire minion wave, so it's better for wave-clearing than BT. And as it does more burst damage too, it's just flat-out better than a BT rush.
Tiamat is my secret OP, but nobody, not even pros, realize how good it is on burst casters. :3

Jesus ****ing christ, really? I was 14/0 at one point in that last game.

Their team was impossible to properly itemize against. I needed MR, I needed HP to go with the MR, I needed armor penetration, I needed sustained damage because they were too tanky for my AoE to do anything, and I needed flat AD. None of that however, left room for enough flat AD to 1-shot their Ez. Sigh. Everyone except their Oriana was out of control. Why am I always on the worse team? We had a Cho'Gath who built Zephyr and Hextech Gunblade as his first 2 items. Such a ****** team. And no, I didn't kill Ori 14 times to be 14/0, I was camping bot too, but they still lost their lane both in terms of kills and CS. Cho'Gath won top, but got out-scaled by Singed because of his build. This is stupid, I mean look at this.

My Talon stats look like I'm a ****ing smurf. I play better than everyone in every game, and I stomp all the time, both the people in my lane and the people out of it, but my w/l ratio hasn't gone up in ages, it's just stayed the same while my stats have gotten progressively better and better. I'm EASILY gold level and it's so stupidly obvious, but even while playing flawlessly, which I was when I was 14/0, there's still a high probability that I'm going to lose the game.
Look, I first blooded Jax in his jungle at level 4, and killed him 3 more times in his jungle, I ganked bot 4 times, twice of which I scored a double kill, and the other 2 times they both died. I was destroying Ori mid, and Cho'Gath was 1 kill ahead of Singed and out-farming him by tons. But we still lost.
It's tempting to just quit right here, because it really is ridiculous how much effort I need to put into reaching gold for the second time while out-playing everyone and still losing. I honestly should have been placed directly into gold when they introduced the Leagues system. I worked hard to reach it, and even though I was still gold, they placed me in silver just to watch me struggle to carry my teams to it a second time. And I simply can't, at this rate it's going to take me 100 games just to move ahead of Silver I, and I don't ****ing have enough time to play that many games with school about. I knew I'd make it to gold when I played during Christmas holidays, and I did. There's ****ing no reason why I should have been demoted from it randomly and forced to reach it again when I don't have as much time to play.

I feel you, bro. I think there were a lot of people who hit Gold in preseason but were shunted into Silver I, myself included. But you can do it!

I know you're a good Talon player, but I think you should look at this objectively. I mean, 5 deaths and more isn't really a good death count, you know? In all of your games you lose (that i've seen) you pretty much always have 5+ deaths, so I think you should work on dying less. Dying so your team can get baron or catch someone or so you save someone else just isn't worth it when your team can't carry. Personally the most deaths I want in a game is 6, that's what I'm aiming for. Except when you're support.
Also you should duo, i've found duoing to be sooooooo soooooo sooooooo much better than solo, see if you can get khazem or oxide or gmd or wayne or someone to duo with you.

Thanks Jhoi. Anyway, won a game after that.

I'm on 56 LP. I guess I was exaggerating about how long it will take me to get gold, seeing as I'm actually pretty close. A win streak will actually get me into a series. But it's honestly taking longer than it should. >.<

Most of my deaths in that game were unavoidable. It was either die or don't do anything at all, which obviously wasn't good for our team. I get what you mean though, sometimes, I do die for stupid reasons that would have been easily avoided, we all do. I try to not repeat the same mistake in the future. :P I don't think I did die for stupid reasons in that game though. I just simply had to die to get my damage out. That, or Singed chasing me everywhere. Couldn't really do much about that. >.<
Maybe GMD or Wayne, but Khazem and Oxide are too high for me. :P Everyone we'd be up against would probably be better than me. I know I'm good, but I've never had to play vs plats / high golds before. I don't have any experience with them. :(

I learn more by playing against Suffix and other high elo people then I do playing vs my own elo. tbh, I just get frustrated playing with my own elo cus they're so bad l0l. And I mean, I wasn't really talking about that game, just all your games.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, I would adapt to the level of play of the players I'm playing against, it's how that stuff works. But the issue is that Khazem or Oxide would have to put up with my bad gameplay until I can get better, and if they're trying to raise Elo, which most people do when they play ranked, they might not want to have to put up with me having to get better by playing with them. :P

They had stronger team-fights than us after that so we couldn't finish off the inhibitor, but I pink warded the baron and placed lots of wards around the map, and caught out Ashe once, then our team caught out Nunu again because he thought we were baroning, then immediately after I single-handedly caught out Ashe yet again, and we baroned. GG.
And yeah, the Jarvan on the enemy team actually recognized me from my guide, lol! Had a nice little chat with him. ^^
Also, 20 wins above losses with Talon.
