I could care less what these people think about my guide.
Yeah, I'm not a professional player.
Yeah, I don't plan on being serious with league of legends.
Yeah, my guide is out dated. I've just been busy with other things.
Yeah, I have screen shots from people who are under 30, but it was requested by my followers. People wanted thier scores shown. I don't give a flying **** if those people want to pass up my guide because of it.

My guide is meant for new players. Not professionals. I stated that many times. Not only that, it wouldn't have done so well if it was not helping people.

If I took everyone's advice on how to play Ahri, my build wouldn't be mine. It would be a mix of everything and it wouldn't be valuable, people have opinions on how they play. Each build has a play style. Yes, there are items you can never ever get on one champ, but that's not the point. Why would I want my guide to be the same as everyone else's? At that point I should just delete it.

I know I'm late. Just defending myself :p

All guides are meant for new players. That's what people don't understand. How many pro players or plat level+ players read guides? probably none of them. I agree with you LaCorpse, even if this thread was necro'd, guides don't have to be perfect, most guides will only be used at a lower, and I think that's where they have to work. I know there are some things that are just flat out wrong, like maybe building Rylai's Crystal Scepter on Anivia, but minor things such as Mana regen yellows Annie. I don't know, people just need to get over the idea that every guide needs to be perfect. Guides are designed for low level play not high elo ****, high elo players don't read guides.

They read for quick "how tos" or "what do pros build", or sometimes to compare pro builds. But yeah I get your point.

Bit of a misconception. Experienced players tend not to need guides to understand how a champion works, but you'll still see plat+ players looking up guides to glance at what other people are building. I'm reminded of a time I was watching Dyrus play Singed and in the middle of the game he looked up InvertedComposer's guide because he couldn't figure out what he should build, lol.

Plus I think a lot of plat players and even diamond players can learn from really high quality guides from really good players. The only thing is that a lot of guide authors (especially on Mobafire) are catering to newer players because the more experienced ones don't care for their opinion. I wouldn't expect TheOddOne to read my Nocturne guide, but I wouldn't be surprised if some golds or plats did if they don't have much experience with him and are looking for a build.

I'll agree with you that the "guide" part of a guide is usually for the newer players. Experienced players usually just look up builds, with a few exceptions for exceptional guides (like InvComp's Singed guide).

If you have a bad, outdated guide and you defend it by saying "my guide is for newbies not pros", then you're also implying that there are no good guides for newbies.

LaCorpse's Ahri guide being the #1 champ guide on the site can probably be attributed to her role on the forums as a graphic designer, since people she made graphics and sigs for might have also gone to upvote her guide as a courtesy. With this system, guides that float up to #1 tend to stay there.

And "good players don't look at guides" is definitely a misconception. I have my Lulu guide on Solomid as well, and a Diamond 1 player dropped by to tell me it's one of his favorite guides on the site despite his ranking.

"Individuality" is hardly an issue. One of the highest rated and featured Ahri guides at Solomid is by Barph, and he uses ap/level seals with hybrid pen marks along with 21/7/2 masteries, something that most people would see as "out of the ordinary."

But instead of getting butthurt and defensive or writing things off as, "Well, you can do w/e you want, wah wah wah" and "But if I listened to everyone else, my build wouldn't be my own wah wah wah", he actually explains why he uses that rune page: "Here I run 9x AP per level seals simply because, combined with 4 AP per level glyphs, you get 1 more AP late game than running 9 AP per level blues, this free up 5 glyph spots."
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.

I have no frickin' clue how you got "then you're also implying that there are no good guides for newbies". That is just stupid and ridiculous. Did I say my guide is the only guide for noobs? No.. no I didnt. I'm sorry but me and my husband laughed at this for a good 15 mins.

My guide was the number one Ahri guide before I was a designer here on Mobafire. People assume that I made the guide after I started making graphics for moba which is false. I did not make 1,732 graphics (the current vote status on my guide, some of course being downvotes). I've made about 100. To be honest I've made like 30 for MissMaw alone, not to mention the people I make graphics for is just a knit group, the same people over and over again.. I may be known for my graphics but not as much as you think I am. Sure, maybe it helped a bit but not enough for you to even try to use that argument. I don't even do it anymore, I quit a long time ago.

I'm not crying about it Astrolia, I'm not like ":'( :'( NO ONE LIKES MY GUIDE ON REDDIT". Saying "I could care less" does not translate to "I'm sad people don't like my guide" it means.. I don't mind that there are people that dislike it and think its bad. I'm just sayin' I like my guide, and others like my guide, that is all that counts. I know you're a well respected player but you're also a high ranked player, a good one, so of course your guides are better than mine. Didn't have to go all douche bag on me to get that point across.

I was expressing my thoughts, not being butt hurt. I'm still not butt hurt, I just think that this is utterly stupid. If anything that reddit post gave my guide more votes, it was 95% when I took my break and its 96% now. Why would I be butt hurt? Cause people didn't like my guide? Oh well, life doesn't poop rainbows, not everyone is going to like my stuff, that goes with everything. I know its not the best guide, so I ain't trippin'. I am just replying to some stuffs that happened while I was gone.

I'm sorry for any drama this post may cause, but it had to be said.

Bree, you are amazing, don't even bother replying to people who are rude. My dad commented on my Vayne guide the other day, saying he was proud of how many people I helped with my guides. That one comment was enough to beat down every single bad word thrown my way.

You and I do help people. And we don't need to be Diamond I to do it.

Funnily enough, I can still give you +rep, so I did. I guess I wasn't one of those people who managed to get a sig from you, +rep you more than 10 times, and also upvote your guide 100 times to get it to 96%! Who'da thunk? :)

The same could be said about your guides. You have no clue as to why people voted your guide; it could be because people think it's good just because your a high elo player, you're active on the forums, or maybe because it looks pretty. Quite frankly if you're going to make that argument for anyone else, don't be asinine enough to think it can't apply to you. People are well aware that the mobafire system has it's flaws, but they still apply to you. Besides, if you're enamored with solomid you can stay there. We don't need you to bring that **** measuring contest-of-a-site here.
