I found that i don't need very many mana potions to start off, i usually go with 3 health, 1 mana because he is not very mana hungry unless he is constantly spamming.

Just add some BBcoding and design your guide and it will good, still a nice guide though.

Drakon, plz...VelKoz is a burst champion because all of his base spells are single-hit and very capable of chunking HP quickly. Deathfire Grasp and Ignite are for close quarters combat, sure, but since you need to be close to the target as any champion ever to get the most damage off, these are viable for the VelKoz power game in order to asist his ulti damage. Abyssal Mask isn't just for its passive. VelKoz could use the MR for rival magic damage that may come his way.

My personal build for VelKoz would be Sorcerer's Shoes/ Rod of Ages/ Morellonomicon/ Liandry's Torment/ Zhonya's Hourglass/ Rabadon's Deathcap

Please take out Muramana. Vel'Koz is an AP champion, not an AD champion, so you have no use for it. A few other suggestions as well:
  • Get Rod of Ages first or second, or not at all. It stacks too slowly to get past that.
  • Take Flash over Ghost, and possible Barrier over Ignite. Even if you personally are not good with Flash, it is very important to have on a champion with zero mobility. As for Barrier, Vel'Koz has too much range to reliably use Ignite, and is very squishy.
  • Enchantment: Alacrity is terrible, especially in comparison to Enchantment: Homeguard. Don't take Alacrity, and you generally don't want to enchant your boots until later in the game, as other items are more important early.
  • Abyssal Mask is bad for the same reason as Ignite; your range is too high to make good use of it.
  • Remove Archangel's Staff. There is absolutely no reason to purchase it when you already have Seraph's Embrace in an earlier section.
  • Void Staff is core. No exceptions.
  • Deathfire Grasp isn't very good either; once again, for the same reasons as Abyssal Mask and Ignite, but also because Vel'Koz is not a burst mage.

I once supported an ADC VelKoz, so yes AD isn't too good on him. But as an AP champ main, I prefer the power game so Rod of Ages/ Lich Bane/ Liandry's Torment sound like good items on VelKoz. Crystal Scepter is not nessesary on him if you can combo well with his E, because knockup is a form of CC, remember that. I'm about to try VelKoz today and I'll tell you more about this build when I'm done...good job so far Jaka, just get rid of the Mananmune and you'll be fine! 8/10

it's strongly recommended to not publish guides that aren't complete yet. it's also strongly recommended to not write on champions that are so new.

there are a lot of issues aside from those BIG ones. there's no bbcoding, no pictures, walls of text, barely any idea flow. I suggest you check out the "how to write a guide" and archive this current one.

once you have a better understanding of how to present your ideas you should get more constructive feedback versus just coming off as someone who wants to get a guide up asap. (whether thats true or not is up to you... not that its a BAD thing, but i digress.) archiving and starting fresh will get rid of all of these nasty comments and downvotes that people will first see when they load up your guide.

Added some of the more positive feed-back to the guide as well as added in Credits to the users. Received an over-whelming amount of positive feed-back through private messaging, so going to continue updating the guide frequently as well as adding in useful information from the community!

I tried this build and it's good, but I was squishy at the beginning because of the boots and because it's my first time playing Vel'Koz.
It's better to rush Unholy Grail and Liandry's Torment first, then go for Zhonya for protection, or Archangel's Staff for more mana.
Like the people above, even though they used foul language, I don't think these items are really that beneficial for him:
-Muramana
-Trinity Force
-Nashor's Tooth
-Lich Bane

Guardian Angel is always good, especially at late-game if your teamfight is going well, you can ressurect and take towers/inhibitors.
I think Rylai's Crystal Scepter would be a very nice addition for him because it slows the enemy, and that's especially great for his ultimate to hit after applying a spell.

All in all, it's an ok guide, but requires a lot of resistance from Vel'Koz for him to attack up close. Try doing it in a way that he stays behind killing everyone instead of rushing in.

Excuse me, I forgot people would much rather sound like obnoxious little brats with nothing better to do then, instead of providing creative input like a decent normal person, would much rather look like an ********. I'll try to remember your "Input", for future guide updates, everyone.

Rushing boot upgrades? Bad Idea
Tri-Force? Bad Idea on an AP
Muramana? Its an AD item. Vel is an AP champ
Spirit Visage? He has no built in sustain, Banshee's Veil is better.
Nashor's? Well TBH I've never tried it but from what I've seen, Vel is burst. Nashors is sustain.
Lich Bane? Vel is supposed to be in back with his long ranged abilities, Not up in AA range

Basically this.
First back you get Sorcerer's Shoes with Alacrity? Why not Bonetooth Necklace while you're at it?
Vel'Koz is very mana hungry early game, you should be building towards Chalice of Harmony quickly no questions asked.

The lack of Rylai's Crystal Scepter offends me especially since you're suggesting Liandry's Torment without it.

Abyssal Mask is not good on him, no matter the situation. I learned that the hard way.

You shouldn't need Guardian Angel because you aren't supposed to be dying. Not being dead means you shouldn't be hit, not being hit means you need more damage and Guardian Angel falls flat at that whole thing.

The build is bad. Period.

I have a problem with some items, amongst them Abyssal SPirit Visage. Vel0koz has no innate means of healing himself so Buying Spirit Visage is wasting gold since its passive will go unused, Unholy Grail gives you about the same stats (with the exception of health, which Velkoz can get with Rylai's or Liandry's anyways) and gives Vel kozby a passive he can actually use.

Abyssal is a cool item, but it's not safe to use it on Vel´koz, his schtick is to oribit around the fight shooting laser beams and plasma bombs and avoid getting jumped on by his foes. Abyssal requires you to get closer than Vel koz would find comfortable, so while it could benefit him, it's a very risky option.

Im not gonna diss the weird items since I personally find AD Vel'koz to be stupid fun.
