[10.16] Ahri: Your Jungle is Mine

By Shad0w1and
Keep in mind, even people blame your picks, League is not an IRC client but a game. Do your best and stay cool.

I have 9 support champs with m7 and 8 support champs with m6, not to mention m5 and below. I know Ahri sup is not good in many situations but I am telling you that it also works well in many cases, it is pretty strong.

In my threat chart, you saw many support champs go even with Ahri, however, due to the lack of utility spells,Ahri is picked as support only because she is a hard counter for enemy bot/sup lane champs like Draven, Leona, Pyke. Ahri also counters Vayne, Lucian, Twitch, Tristana, and most melee supports slightly in the lane, but Electrocute Ahri lacks the utility offered by standard supports, so do not pick Ahri as support if the enemy team got a very strong team composition. In this sense, only pick Ahri when you are the last pick or you can trade with the last picking guy.

Let's say you see their jungle pick is Kha'zix, and the top is Nasus, Draven ADC, then get a Leona or Pyke support, it is pretty safe to pick Ahri now because their team is not OP in team fights, and you are the hard counter to Leo or Pyke. Even they started fights, you can jump in charm or even delete their carries and Zongya to wait for your team to clean up. You, however, need to make sure you get an early strong ADC like Lucian, otherwise, Leo and Draven may just destroy your Vayne ADC and you. Communicate well and make your ADC trust your pick is your responsibility during picking.

As support, your damage will be lower than a typical mid lane Ahri. However, remember that your goal is to charm your enemy. It is critical to learn your enemy's moving patterns and make sure you land your E. Without your E, you really do no damage to them. However, unlike unskilled, (kinda useless) Glacial Ahri (which ults in, auto slow, then use Q, W, then use E to CC, also does not build damaging items), Electrocute Ahri will be able to provide crazy damage if she lands an E first. Remember since patch 8.8 the increased duration of E, that 1.4s is a crazy cc early. At level 6, if you land an E and everything with your ADC Lucian's follow up, assuming you two dodged support's cc. Does not matter if the Draven has the heal, he is dead (Pyke or Leo does not have heal spells). Make sure to poke them before lv6 to make that kill even easier.

In addition to counter picking, Ahri's advantage is that she is so safe in unwarded jungle. In solo queue, you do not expect everyone to follow you and help you clean the enemy wards, especially you are Gold or below. So you are on your own in the jungle most of the time. However, with your ult, you will be the safest support to do vision. Take your advantages, do some deep ward and make the enemy steps visible to your team.

If you find their support or carries during warding, interpret their action and find the best spot to charm and combo. Keep in mind that if you did not delete them, save at least one ult when you are not sure if they are alone. Never chase into an unwarded bush unless you know your teammates are following up.

Use your Oracle Lens or Q before a bush face check, if you see or hit something, depending on the situation, use E or R or even flash immediately to escape.

If you win the game and your vision score is lower than the enemy support, you probably should never play Ahri as the support again! Check your profile stats, as the Ahri support, you should be able to get the nearly maximum vision score per hour (All the way to the outer border!). If not, you failed your mission as the safest vision controller.

Finally, remember that even your vision is much better than the enemy team, it depends on how your team takes advantage of it. When enemy support and jungle start to clean your wards, it is the best time for your team to group and force fight.
Kill all Scryer's Blooms during warding so that the enemy team can't reveal the map.
