Champion Build Guide
Pros and Cons
- Very strong level 3 ganking/fighting potential - Great clear after first back due to passive - Insane splash damage - High max health damage makes Brand good against tanks and especially objectives |
- Slow and not fairly unhealthy first clear - Kiting necessary for first clear - Aggressive Junglers will most likely try to take advantage of your early game |
Primary Runes
Dark Harvest increases your damage and is also easy to proc with your burn passive. Scales well into the late game. |
Cheap Shot offers a small amount of true damage when you cc an enemy. Easily proccable with your e>q combo and with Rylai's Crystal Scepter later since all your abilities slow at that point. |
Eyeball Collection gives AP on champion takedowns. Free AP is always nice. |
Treasure Hunter grants gold on unique champion takedowns. Good for snowballing, but keep in mind you actually need to get at least one takedown on every enemy as early as possible to make it worth it. |
Ultimate Hunter reduces your ultimate's cooldown per unique champion takedown. More reliable than Treasure Hunter, but doesn't snowball as much. |
Secondary Runes
Presence of Mind gives you great mana sustain and lets you know when you hit someone even when you don'T have vision on them. Coup de Grace offers more damage to low health enemies. |
The Inspiration tree secondary can also be viable, though I personally have not used it. Perfect Timing grants you a free stopwatch after some time (reduced by takedowns),which can be amazing against AD assassins like Zed, Rengar and Talon. Also saves you 650g if yo build Zhonya's Hourglass. Cosmic Insight reduces your summoner spell cooldown, which makes you have your Flash and more importantly your Smite up more often. Future's Market can help you hit your items sooner. Keep the 50g fee in mind though. |
Itemization
Gives you more burn damage, mana and ability haste. Solid powerspike. |
18 Magic penetration is kinda broken in the early game and makes them a good rush item if you have 1100g on your first back. |
Better against very tanky comps than Sorcerer's Shoes because 18 magic penetration is not going to do much against someone with 200 MR. Also reduces your summoner spell cooldown. |
More burn damage but also some tankiness. |
Gives healing reduction, which is almost always a good choice due to the high amount of healing in the game. |
The magic penetration is only useful if the enemy team stacks MR, so this item is situational. |
Rabadon's Deathcap sounds good on paper, since it gives a huge amount of AP, but Brand doesn't really need that much AP and other item choices are usually better. |
Probably the most overpowered item in the game. Always nice to ruin an assassin player's day. |
Only built this if you really need MR into a mostly magic damage comp. |
All your abilities now slow by a decent amount and makes it easier to hit your q and w. |
Only buy this if you arr fed and the enemy can't easily kill you. High snowball potential if you don't die. Can also be upgraded to Mejai's Soulstealer, which is very risky though. |
Jungle clear
Start at your red with your W and kite while auto attacking. Smie it once it has about 430 hp and move to your raptors. E the middle one and hit all of them with your w. Kite until your w is up again to kill them and then move to your krugs. E>q them to get your increased w damage and kite until your abilities are up again. After krugs you hit level 3 and can look for a gank or scuttle.
With level 3, your clear becomes much easier. Just E>w and q the large monster to proc your passive.
