This is a really great guide you have a very detailed section about items and explained them well. With Xayah, do you think she can only reach her full potential with Rakan? I've seen some people say it the other way around but I wasn't sure. (Help me which skin do I buy for her they all look so cool)

Hi, thank you so much for making this guide! Xayah is currently on the free rotation, and as I'm trying to branch out into ADCs, I wanted to try her out since I like her boyfriend a lot, haha. Having such an in-depth guide is super helpful and much appreciated!

I'm sorry if it sounds dumb, but how do you feel about Hail of Blades Xayah? It currently seems to be the main rune for a lot of adc's but I'm not so sure about Xayah.

I personally prefer Lethal Tempo due to it's duration extending longer than Hail of Blades. The highpoint of Hail of Blades is that you can overcap on attack speed, but I don't think you usually get to that point on Xayah. More so she doesn't have an auto reset so you aren't getting the full value out of the keystone.

Basically, Hail of Blades is stronger early but falls off hard and Lethal Tempo shines brighter in late game, WAY brighter.

Hi mate, hell of a guide I must say :)
Have you ever tried Resolve runes as secondary when playing with Rakan? Shield bash + Unflinching or Second wind must make some strong play, getting shield + MR + Armor + some more dmg for poke, could secure some win trade early as still be functional mid-late game :)
What do you say :) could it work instead of boots + cookies? :) Currently I cannot test it, so I could use another opinion :) Thanks

Hello, and thank you!

Haven't ever tried that, and I haven't played much Xayah lately so can't really comment on it anyways.

While that combo sounds like it can work, it would be probably mostly for premade play. You can't control your ability to get Shield Bash procs consistently unless you are constantly with your Rakan and he is actively looking to shield you. Also the Shield Bash scaling is partially wasted since Xayah doesn't build any bonus health so you'd be relying on the shield size scaling and base damage.

I'd personally still probably run free boots and cookies, but that playstyle can work in some cases sure.

Hey Pat! Can I call you Pat? >.<
First to give props on the guide! It was concise and informative, so I was able to absorb it fully (I think -_-) and run with it. This is huge for me, personally, as a lot of other guides tend to be so long that they end up confusing me rather then helping. Really seemed like you put energy into proofing and checking back on this, thanks!! Much appreciated!
I started playing Xayah about a month ago when I pulled her Star Guardian skin from a crate (woot!!!) and haven't been able to drop her since. She's a TON of fun to play, but I'm struggling a lot with getting poked by long range supps.. Seems like every single game has a Vel, Ori, Swain, Morg, Lux etc. that just decimates me... So this is probably just a general question rather then Xayah specific, what can I do to survive these matchups? Vs other ADCs I feel she has better poke nearly all the time because it's so natural to have minions between us all the time in lane, so her passive is a constant win for me-- but there's always always ALWAYS a long range supp in the bush tagging me whenever I autoattack... I'm assuming I am being too aggressive, but early game trying to farm under tower with her is an absolute nightmare. There, I'm still unable to get farm and am still getting poked by the supp.
In games where I do get early farms she feels like a monster snowball.. but this is massive rarity because of how bad I am lol.. Still love her to death, passive and E feel really natural for me.
Thank you sir for your time and consideration <3

Hey, and sure you can call met Pat :D
Glad you enjoyed the guide!

If you are struggling against poke, an early Cull can help out, or potentially you could go for a Vampiric Scepter although that would delay your core items a bit so might not be the most optimal thing. Also optionally you could go Fleet Footwork for a safer lane phase, though that will reduce your DPS since you'll be lacking the burst of attack speed from Lethal Tempo. The obvious answer is "oh just dodge the abilities", and while that isn't always possible, the more you play against those champs, the more you can learn the poke patterns and potentially learn to dodge their abilities more consistently. Also having the proper support helps a lot in specific matchups, after all it's a duo lane. If you have something like Blitzcrank who just misses every hook while you get poked, what's he good for in the lane? In poke lanes something like Nami, Soraka or even Braum could be good choices, although that's up to your support to pick.

Hope this helps a bit, haven't played Xayah myself for a while so not sure how it feels down in bot lane right now due to other ADC's like Lucian, Senna and Caitlyn being on the rise but Xayah for sure is a ton of fun non-the-less!

Hai! This is my favorite guide so far :3
I wanted to ask what you think of using Legend: Alacrity runes on Xayah instead of the Bloodline one? I know you mentioned in this guide that both are an option but I just wanna know if Alacrity would be considered a better option now with the her nerf to her w in 9.22.

Also do you think this nerf affects her too much or it's fine? Can I hear your thoughts on how she's doing in the meta rn? c:

Sorry if this question was asked before or if it's obvious or something, I'm still kinda new ^-^
Also thanks for making this guide!

Hello, and sorry for the late answer!

Legend: Alacrity is fine if you really want the attack speed, however I feel the rune is itself quite overrated and I much more value the lifesteal from Legend: Bloodline. Sure the nerf cut down her attack speed when using W but imo I still rather run Legend: Bloodline in most cases since the sustain from it is just so good especially when heading to mid/late game.

The nerf affected her a bit but overall she is still really good (She is sitting at 49%-50% winrate so she is still more than fine to play.

And all good, I appreciate all comments/questions so I'm more than happy to answer :D

Glad you enjoyed the guide!

Heya! Great guide here dude!
I hope you don't mind two smol advices? c:
One is like... can you put all the 'update with the patch' stuff in some kind of a spoiler?
And it also would be very nice if you added choices with other secondary runes, sorcery or domination - doesn't really matter.

Upvote for sure! :D

Hello and thank you! Glad you liked the guide!

I definitely don't mind advises and feedback is always appreciated!

I've actually never thought of that option for some reason, but putting it behind a spoiler is a great idea. I removed the update log from few of my guides due to it looking cluttered but your idea is a great solution to it. I'll try to do it in the following days for sure :D

I'll do the secondary runes thing too when I update the update log.

Thanks for the ideas/advises and for the upvote!:D

Hey~ nice guide! I wondered if it would not be better to use the secondary runes of cheap shot and ultimate hunter to achieve greater damage when enemies are rooted. I know that biscuit delivery helps to stay longer in the lane and magical footwear offers a small discount when buying boots but I don't know if it is very useful in the late game.

Hello!

Inspiration tree isn't often meant to offer anything for late game, but to offer you the ability to have a better lane phase. You can go for scaling runes etc, but in the end if you have an awful lane phase you may never even get to that point.

Cheap Shot and stuff like Ultimate Hunter are viable sure, but I personally prefer running Inspiration since it will just help you during lane phase and allow you to invest gold into other stuff than boots early.

Hi PH, nice guide btw!

What do you think of the nerfs to her for 9.18? She lost like 3 base armor and 20 sec CD increase on every rank of Ulti. Would Trascendence be better on her than Ab focus if you go sorcery second? or does Xayah not need the extra 10% CDR?

PH45 (37) | September 13, 2019 10:39am
Thank you!

I think she is still perfectly fine, although her early game will feel harder due to the lowered armor. She will still be the great scaling teamfighting ADC but just with less safety which I think is warranted due to how well she was performing previously.

I don't think the CDR is as crucial, sure the longer CD on ult will hurt but overall I think it's still more worth to go Magical Footwear and Biscuit Delivery to enhance your lane phase, especially now that they nerfed her base armor.

This is a very good guide. I usually don't play bot lane and only play bot lane when the matching game puts me in bot. I usually choose Xayah as my adc since i'm most familiar with her as an adc and she's actually pretty good. I only play xayah very casually. I have a pretty decent kda with xayah but my winrate is not that high. So to play xayah well, should I play more agressively or passively with xayah? And is there any other tips?

It's hard to know what is the reason of your winrate. Your playstyle should highly just depend on the game you are in, it depends both on your support and the enemy laners. Combined with an aggressive support Xayah can do a lot of work since most of them can CC enemies and then you can just setup your feathers to CC them for even longer. Xayah is a great teamfight adc due to her setting up feathers and then pulling them in for damage and root. Also her self peel with R allows her to survive (at least most of the time) vs assassins or engages so she can really turn the tide in fights.

The best tip I can really give you is to just maximize your use of feathers. Set them up to zone enemies, especially in lane phase, your enemies have to walk around them if they don't want to get rooted by you. This can enable you to setup the enemies to place into spots for your support to throw abilities at them or in general just zone them from cs.

Hello! So i have made a link to this Build of PH45's Xayah build.
This is a little shortened but makes sense to me. Tell me if anything needs to be added and i will do so.

Hello! Cool that you created one! I originally added these to my guides but they kind of ruined the guides look imo.

I'm a support main, and my friend wants to play Xayah. What supports would go good with her? I can play just about any decently.

PH45 (37) | June 17, 2019 2:56am
I think engage supports are really good with Xayah, since they allow her to setup feathers while they keep opponents still, as Fruxo mentioned, champions like Leona, Thresh, Braum, Nautilus and of course Rakan since they were created to have great synergy. I think also Morgana works well since her bind will give you more than enough time to setup feathers, as will her ult too.

Usually any support with some good CC so that the one playing Xayah can get their E root off, like Leona, Thresh, Braum etc. even her counterpart or "lover" Rakan is really good with her from my perspective.

Although PH might have something different Idk :P
