Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hello! Welcome to my Vayne guide! My name is DoubleFeedOP and I'm currently a Grandmaster ADC Player who has officially completed their first full season! I peaked at Grandmasters 74 LP During Season 10 and strive to make a conscious effort of furthering myself and my fellow ADC community. I stream on Twitch so be sure to stop by if you have any questions or leave a comment on my guide and I'll be sure to respond to you as fast as possible! |
What makes me qualified to write this guide? I've played countless hours of Vayne since his release and think that there's a demand for new Vayne guides and I'm here to provide them for you! I hope that you enjoy my guide and that it furthers your Vayne gameplay. The new Kraken Slayer brings potential because it synergizes well with many items making your Silver Bolts that much more powerful than it was before. |
Table of Contents
+ Synergizes well with Kraken Slayer + Meshes well with enchantress supports + With the reset of her Final Hour she can go in and reset her R cooldown with kills making long fights a breeze with her. + Once you grab your Guinsoo's Rageblade + Fun and high skill cap champion + Can be called out for vayne spotting which is always a plus. When playing Vayne you can take advantage of your Final Hour and secure kills quickly once you grab your rageblade/kraken slayer powerspike so its always a plus when mid game rolls around to group with your teammates and secure objectives while they peel you and you 3 shot the enemy ADC. |
- Isn't strong early game - Needs very expensive items to get going - Tends to be focused hard because of her high DPS output - Due to her short range, can be cc'd easily. - She needs to work around her team or she won't be very effective unless she is at her late game state. - Doesn't synergize well with ardent supports because of her emphasis on getting ahead early game. If you're against a champion like Draven, you should avoid Samira unless you're confident you can get ahead. When playing Vayne, your greatest weakness tends to be your range. Champions like Caitlyn will attempt to kill you and pressure under turret. If Caitlyn gets many plates she can turn that into a snowball that can end games very quickly and make you useless toward your team. The reason that Vayne isn't the strongest ADC in the game is because of the fact that it takes so long for her to come online but once she does she is definitely a contender to being the best ADC in S11. |

Core Items
Vayne is a champion that can start in a few different ways. You can start one of the 3 core items first and that would be completely fine. People in Korea tend to go Blade of the Ruined King first but NA/EUW players tend to go Guinsoo's Rageblade or Kraken Slayer. |
Situational Items
|
Mercurial Scimitar Use this item when going against high CC targets such as but not limited to : Rammus Leona. You can build the Quicksilver Sash component and finish off the item as your final one. |
|
Serylda's grudge You're going to be using this item against high armor comps such as Rammus or Malphite. This'll help you peel and grants you extra damage as well. You won't really use this item on Vayne though because of her innate passive against tanks. |
|
Phantom Dancer This item allows you to become a machine gun after 5 auto attacks and is a necessary component to Vayne's late game scaling for teamfights. |

Laning Phase
During laning phase, you're going to first want to take into account the type of lane you're against. You have to identify the 3 potential lanes you're facing which fall under the categories : Kill lane, Sustain lane, and Poke lane. Kill lanes consist of champions like Miss Fortune Nautilus which their goal is to get ahead early and punish you. Poke lanes attempt to poke you out and get kill pressure. Champions such as Varus Seraphine are poke champions and should be treated as equals to you. Most Vayne lanes are going to categorize as sustain lanes because she works well with sustain champions such as Yuumi.
During laning phase you're going to want to either do one of three things. First is leash your jungler, second is cheese, and third is manipulate the wave by walking up and dragging the starter minions to a bush and walking back out. By doing that the enemy melee minions focus one of theirs and that can secure you level 2 priority.
Most of the time you're going to want to respect laners like Jhin and set up your jungler for ganks. When going up against another weak ADC such as Sivir though you can play aggressively and even secure kills against these champions. You also counter champions like Ezreal so you aren't necessarily the weakest early game champion considering some of these champions even build items like Tear of the Goddess.

Out of Laning Phase
When out of laning phase, you need to focus on your macro as a player. Whether it be making sure waves are pushed for objectives or rotating to different lanes if you've destroyed your own turret, you need to make sure that you secure objectives for your team and stick around them because Vayne naturally plays around her tanks.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading my guide! This is all a WIP as the season progresses I will be sure to update this guide. Thank you and I hope I helped you win your next League of Legends game on your climb to Challenger! I'm really excited to have the opportunity to take my knowledge and put it on a platform that other newer players can further their gameplay with. Vayne was the first champion that I mained so really enjoy playing her even to this day and have extensive experience with her.
