[13.11] Ashe SUPPORT + UPDATED ITEMS + TIER LIST

By Navn
ALL ITEM SUPPORT CHANGES
We're on the new patch! Here's a list of all the changes. Some items have different build paths, but only give more or less stats, and some give completely different stats. I'll be talking about the later as it would be something new to work with, rather than just a slight increase/decrease of stats. Lets get started! Hover over the item name to see what it does! Check the ITEMIZATION tab to see if these items are good for Ashe!

Mythics

NEW - Echoes of Helia
- This is a fantastic item for players who love to play aggressively as an enchanter.
- When it says "dealing damage" to get Soul Shards, it includes auto-attacks as well, which is great because auto-attacking mid-late game as an enchanter tends to do very little.
- Also "dealing damage", is based on a single ACTION that deals damage, not from each source of damage. For example:

Karma uses Q - Inner Flame on an enemy, and triggers Scorch and Summon Aery. You get 1 soul shard.

In this example, it was 1 ACTION, then a bunch of stuff triggers. So each ACTION of damage, grants you 1 soul shard.

CHANGED - Moonstone Renewer
- 200 gold cheaper
- This requires TWO allies to be near each other for the passive to trigger. Which means, if it's just you and 1 other person, this passive does NOTHING.

BUFFED - Locket of the Iron Solari
- 200 gold cheaper
- Changed build path

BUFFED - Evenshroud
- 200 gold cheaper
- Changed build path

BUFFED - Shurelya's Battlesong
- 200 gold cheaper
- Slightly lower stats and movement speed on passive.

BUFFED - Radiant Virtue
- 500 gold cheaper
- Lowered base stats.

LEGENDARY

CHANGED - Imperial Mandate
- Is now a Legendary, and not a Mythic.
- 200 gold cheaper
- Different build path, no more HP, but more AP.
- Passive does less damage.

CHANGED - Ardent Censer
- 200 gold cheaper
- Lowered base stats
- Now gives movement speed
- Passive gives more attack speed and deals more damage.
- Different build path

CHANGED - Staff of Flowing Water
- 200 gold cheaper
- Lowered base stats
- Now gives movement speed
- Passive gives more ap
- Different build path

BUFFED - Chemtech Putrifier
- 200 gold cheaper
- Adjusted stats

CHANGED - Redemption
- No longer gives Ability Haste
- Different build path
- Stronger active heal
- Now gives Health Regen

CHANGED - Mikael's Blessing
- Now gives HP
- No more Magic Resist
- Now gives Health Regen
- Active heals a bit more
- Different build path

ADJUSTED - Abyssal Mask
- 600 gold cheaper
- No more Catalyst of Aeons passive
- Less hp, more magic resist.
- Different build path

BUFFED - Zeke's Convergence
- Different build path
- 200 gold cheaper

CHANGED - Knight's Vow
- 100 gold cheaper
- Lowered base stats
- Now gives Armor
- Passive damage redirect does more to you
- Different build path

CHANGED - Vigilant Wardstone
- Now BUILDS from Watchful Wardstone
- 1200 more gold
- Passive gives more bonus stats.
- Now gives Mana Regen.

EPIC

ADJUSTED Watchful Wardstone
- No longer automatically upgrades to Vigilant Wardstone
- Now gives Mana Regen
- Now gives bonus stats.

NEW - Lifewell Pendant
- An Armor/Hp/Ability Haste recipe item towards Tank support items.

NEW - Chalice of Blessing
- An HP/Mana Regen/Health Regen recipe item towards Enchanter support items.

My thoughts and opinion:

- Overall, I like how almost everything is cheaper (even if it they give a bit less stats) so that I can get to actually completing items more often.
- Echoes of Helia is probably overtuned and I can see it being very strong for a while.
- I like almost all the changes and adjustments, except for Redemption no longer giving Ability Haste.
- Really excited Knight's Vow gives Armor now as there wasn't really a support Armor item outside of Zeke's Convergence. So having another option is nice.
- On the flip side, Mikael's Blessing no longer gives magic resist, but it does give HP instead, which more often than not, will be more beneficial.
- I think Abyssal Mask is an insanely good item now, and given the right situations, is probably OP.
- Ardent Censer and Staff of Flowing Water now gives movement speed feels so good, as they sometimes felt like really underwhelming buys for completing an item.
- Imperial Mandate now being a Legendary doesn't really change much, except just make Nami better, as she can now build Echoes of Helia to stack burst damage.
- Vigilant Wardstone getting changed was a huge bummer as it was a massive spike when it transformed from Watchful Wardstone. It just gave so many raw stats and it was so cheap for a Legendary item.
- Chemtech Putrifier probably still sucks.
- Moonstone Renewer looks like it REALLY sucks and looks absurdly conditional.
- Ashe looking like she's a bit on the losing end for these changes, unless echos of helia with Font of Life build pops off.

Overall, I say, great job and I can't wait to play it all out!

Hi there! I've been playing Ashe Support pretty recreationally, ever since I started playing League 12 years ago! Every once in a while, I play her in about Platinum elo and have an absolute blast. This guide is just a very general guideline of how to play Ashe Support, with runes and itemization. If you'd like to ask more questions, drop a comment or drop by my stream! I stream almost every weekday and would love to have you there, Thank you for reading!

Why Ashe Support?
- She has some very good one sided match-ups vs certain enchanters and adcs, and if you can pick later into the draft, and pick Ashe into Tiny or Minor threats, then you're gonna have a very easy lane.
- She isn't really playable into anyone that can engage or jump on you or assassins, so shes very situational.
- You definitely make your opponents get really angry at you with how obnoxious Volley spam is, and if you like messing with your opponents, then Support Ashe is your style.
Itemization
TLDR; Buy ability haste items

There are 2 main mythics to buy, Echoes of Helia (only if you take Font of Life) or Liandry's Anguish. Become an Enchanted Crystal Arrow Bot. Buy the Amplifying Tome items last, since your only AP ratio is your Ultimate.

Mythics

Reasons to get Liandry's Anguish
- More ability haste for more ability spam.
- There's a lot more tanky champions on the enemy team.
- There's stealth champions on the enemy team, since the DoT you put on a stealth champion will show where they generally are, instead of not being able to see them at all, such as Shaco Akali Twitch

Reasons to get Echoes of Helia
- You MUST have Font of Life for this mythic to be viable.
- Cheap mythic and ability haste.

Boots/Shoes Choice
- Ionian Boots of Lucidity rush these. They're cheap, they give all the stats you want. If anyone manages to get on top of you, there is almost no other shoes/boots choice that would save you anyways, AND the other options cost more.

Legendaries

Serpent's Fang
- Pretty easy to apply the effects of this since Volley will be about a 2.5 second cooldown, and it covers a large area.
- Definitely a must get vs Sona Karma and anyone else that can provide shields over multiple people.

Umbral Glaive
- Very cheap, disabling vision is great, gives Ability Haste too, and you can stack more Lethality if enemy is all squishy.
- Consider taking this with Zombie Ward for that extra vision.
- Because of how much scouting potential you have with Hawkshot and being able to check Brush with Volley, might not be a bad choice to turn your Oracle Lens into Farsight Alteration

Chempunk Chainsword
- Finishes off from Executioner's Calling and it just gives a ton of ability haste

Black Cleaver
- If your team is all AD, shaving off some armor off the enemy is nice
- Gives a whooping 30 ability haste
- Gives a bit of extra movement speed to help reposition

Ravenous Hydra
- Only as your 6th item and you're one of the primary damage dealer.
- It ends up being really good waveclear if you're down all inhibitors and you need to wave clear.

Vigilant Wardstone
- This should be your last item.
- The ability haste for very cheap is what you're looking for here.
- if you purchase Watchful Wardstone and at some point in the game, you have enough vision scouting/denial with Umbral Glaive Hawkshot and Farsight Alteration that you could even look to sell Black Mist Scythe for another Legendary item, since it's likely you won't need any of the stats it provides anymore.
How to use your abilities
TLDR; Spam Volley and Enchanted Crystal Arrow as often as possible.

Passive - Frost Shot
- This is what makes you exceptionally annoying and hard for enchanters to deal with, because they lack damage, you just end up slowing them for your lane partner to kill them.

Q - Ranger's Focus
- If you put a single point into this at level 3, I hope you took Hail of Blades. This probably doesn't work as well with Arcane Comet.
- If you take Arcane Comet most likely don't level this until you need to.

W - Volley
- At level 9, this becomes exceptionally spammable, after you get a bit of ability haste.
- Against champions that stealth very often, you can fire your Volley into directions you think they might come from, such as Evelynn Twitch Shaco Akshan
- Always use this to check brush, as its a very low cooldown.

E - Hawkshot
- If you find someone, and that someone dies within a few seconds, you get an assist, which works nicely with stacking Ultimate Hunter
- In the early game, at level 2, look to fire this at one of the buffs, red or blue, so see which side the enemy jungler is on. Afterwards, next key points will be about 6:40 - 7:10 (red or blue buff will spawn next).
- This ends up making you pretty hard to get caught out because you're constantly spotting the threats, and allows you to walk forward if you have Umbral Glaive to clear out vision.

R - Enchanted Crystal Arrow
- Look to aim this down narrow corridors to ensure a higher chance of hitting
- If you're shooting at a lane, then you'll have to calculate the time it will take the travel to the location, and you can usually aim at the target's maximum auto-attack range to the next minion you think they'll be hitting.
- Once you get some ability haste and stacks on Ultimate Hunter, you can fire this almost every 40 seconds.
- If you keep track of Flash on enemies, aim for those who don't have it, or people who don't have a dash or Galeforce.
Runes
TLDR; Arcane Comet good, Hail of Blades if you want to fight more, and everything else sucks.

Keystones:

Arcane Comet
- Can't go wrong with taking this, it just makes your poke even more obnoxious than it already is.

Hail of Blades
- If they can't trade back very easily, then you can get Ranger's Focus at level 2 and look to all-in.
- Allows for more runes in the Domination tree which are pretty good for Ashe.

Minor Runes

Sorcery

Manaflow Band
- Helps with spamming volley later in the game.
- Consider waiting on the cooldown of Manaflow Band to be up, before using Volley so you can stack it as fast as possible.

Transcendence
- Can't go wrong with this, more ability haste is just good

Absolute Focus
- More potent poke, would consider it more against a full squishy team, because then the value of the AD you get is higher.
- However, do know that if you complete Imperial Mandate or Liandry's Anguish first, the adaptive force this gives, will go to AP unless you have more than 40 AD. Black Mist Scythe gives 20, so you'll need at least another 2 long swords.

Scorch
- Adds more to the potent poke.
- Nothing else to really take in this row.

Domination

Cheap Shot
- You can almost always proc this so it just adds more damage.

Zombie Ward
- Take this with Umbral Glaive and you're gonna be playing minesweeper.

Ingenious Hunter
- The more item cooldowns you have, the better this becomes. Umbral Glaive and your trinkets

Ultimate Hunter
- More Enchanted Crystal Arrow spam, likely to pair with Imperial Mandate

Relentless Hunter
- Ashe is pretty darn slow, so being able to get around from place to place is nice, but other two Hunter runes are better overall.

Inspiration

Approach Velocity
- Would take this with Hail of Blades for that all-in potential to run people down.

Biscuit Delivery
- Will allow you to Volley a few more times in the laning phase
- Take this or the rune below with Approach Velocity

Perfect Timing
- The main reason you're in the Inspiration section is for Approach Velocity
- Its unlikely you're turn this into Guardian Angel or Zhonya's Hourglass later, so just sell it once you use it.

Magical Footwear
- Take this if you have a winning lane. So it's more likely you can get to Ionian Boots of Lucidity sooner if you get some kills/assists in lane.

- If there's a rune not mentioned here, then I thought it just wasn't worth it. But if you'd like me to add it, drop a comment and I'll gladly add it in.

Resolve
Font of Life
- Only take this when you are building Echoes of Helia otherwise there is no other way to proc the healing.

Bone Plating
- Good against all-in moments or surviving burst mid/late game.

Second Wind
- Good against poke-heavy lanes.
Early/Mid/Late game
TLDR; Spam abilities and don't die. Maybe XD at enemies a few times.

Early Game/Laning Phase

- If you have a good lane match-up (check for low threats), this is where you should look to capitalize on your advantages. Your poke hits hard, and its got a lot of range. And if they decide to over-step even a little bit, you actually have kill pressure since you can just keep auto-attacking and slowing them. This is the time to take Ignite and maybe even Cheap Shot, and its even possible to all-in with Hail of Blades at level 2.
- If you have a bad lane match-up (check for high threats), this is where you have to play REALLY defensively and try not to die. Take Arcane Comet, keep things warded, get as much exp as you can to get level 6, then level 9 as soon as possible so that you can become useful.

Mid Game

- If you come out ahead from laning phase, there are a few options that you have. If you rushed Umbral Glaive you can definitely start going on the hunt for wards for additional gold income, but be very careful and try to scout ahead with Hawkshot and Volley. At this point, it's unlikely you're level 9, so still proceed with caution when walking towards bushes.
- Once you get used to being able to analyze fights very quickly, and get a general idea of which direction the fight is going in, you can look for across-the-map Enchanted Crystal Arrow plays.
- Use a lot of pings like, the ON THE WAY ping or AREA IS WARDED ping, at the exact spot your arrow is going, then ping your arrow cooldown, to communicate that's where it's going. Whoever is supposed to follow up on the arrow, may be able to manipulate their opponent to walk into the spot you fired at.

Late Game

- I find late game is right when you hit level 9. Your Volley is spamable, and your scouting ability just gets better and better as you level up and put more points into Hawkshot. You become absolutely obnoxious with how often your Enchanted Crystal Arrow is up, and trying to run at Ashe is an absolute nightmare since Volley is up every 2 seconds.
- At this point, you have to play according to the items you've built. With Umbral Glaive, you'll end up trying to clear vision a lot more. With Liandry's Anguish you're trying to wittle down your opponents over an extended period of time.
13.11 Tier List
Grading Explanation below the lists! Check the RANK too!

- Ashe support is still ok and if you look at the "Threats" category, if both enemies are 1 and/or 2, then thats exactly what you want. Anything at 3/4/5, will be harder to play the game. Ashe's Tier placement is higher in her good match-ups, and even lower in her bad match-ups. Her synergies don't matter too much.

13.11 Plat and Below

13.11 Diamond+

Tier List Grading Points

- Winrates
- Champion Difficulty (more relevant in platinum and below)
- Counter-play (more relevant in platinum and below)
- Flex pick for draft (more relevant in diamond+)
- Early game (more relevant in diamond+)
- Late game/scaling (more relevant in platinum and below)

Overall Points:

- Games last longer the lower in elo you go. Therefore, mage supports tend to do much better since you can buy your items, and you basically become another carry threat. This leads to enchanters/engage being weaker in lower level play since you would rely on your teammtes more often.

- Champions that are fundamentally easier to execute on will have higher win rates. Since it is more unlikely players are pilot-ing their champion runes/builds/kit efficiently, the easier the champion, the more likely to maximize their kits. This is especially apparent in Platinum and below.

- I would recommend playing any of the champs in S+, S, or A. However you can climb on almost anything, provided you always look to maximize your champion kit, mechanics, and impact on the game. Winning is the result of improving.
