Sup! Welcome to my in-depth Irelia guide! I peaked Challenger 875 LP with a decent amount of Irelia games. I have more than 500K mastery points across all of my accounts and I do believe I'm mechanically great on her (which is one of the reasons I'm building this guide). If the guide was any helpful to you, a thumbs up vote would be great! I hope you'll enjoy my guide just as much as I enjoyed creating it!

If the guide was any helpful to you, a thumbs up vote would be great! I hope you'll enjoy my guide just as much as I enjoyed creating it. Remember, the only way to get better is to practice!

Conqueror Setup (vs Tanks)

Lethal Tempo Setup
Just like most champs, Flash is great on Irelia. You could go Ignite + Teleport but expect to get ********ed very early (I mean if you like that, do it by all means:)
Since you're playing Irelia mid, taking Ignite can increase your kill pressure. Only take Teleport if you are against a really hard match up and you're not that confident with Irelia.

Goredrinker

Goredrinker is great for going in 1 v 5! In teamfights, I would wait till my HP is below 20% HP, then I would use Goredrinker. However, for 1v1s I would use it at the start of the fight to deal more damage. Goredrinker usage is very important and plays an important part to outplays.

BoRK

Blade of the Ruined King will be your rushed item. It synergizes with Irelia extremely well. The amount of sustain and damage it provides helps Irelia in 1 v 2, 1 v 3 ******** situations. Once you have completed Blade of the Ruined King, look for aggressive fights as it's a really big item spike.

Death's Dance

If you aren't building Death's Dance as your third or fourth item, you should be banned. This item is SOOOOO insane against burst and heavy AD comps. Adding on with Guardian Angel, you should be really hard to kill.

Guardian Angel

You may buy Guardian Angel as your 4th item if you're looking to teamfight alot and the fights are very close (or if you are really ahead. If you are ahead, building Guardian Angel can be a pain in the bun for the enemies to kill you).

Wit's End

If you're against heavy magic damage, then Wit's End adds more sustainability to you. If you're against heavy physical damage, going Death's Dance will be the better choice. You really don't need another offensive item since you have Blade of the Ruined King and Immortal Shieldbow.

Merc Boots

If you're against heavy CC teams, going Mercury's Treads will be the best option for your boots. If you're against heavy physical damage or auto attack heavy champs ( Master Yi, Tryndamere, etc), then build Plated Steelcaps. Any other options aren't that viable.

Irelia gains 1 Ionian Fervor stack for every enemy champion hit by her abilities, or if she hits at least one non-champion, stacking up to 5 times. Ionian Fervor lasts for 6 seconds, with basic attacks against champions and large monsters refresh the duration. Ionian Fervor: Irelia gains 8 / 12 / 16% attack speed. At maximum stacks, Irelia gains 40 / 60 / 80% (levels 1/7/13) bonus attack attack speed and her attacks deal an additional 15-66 (+25% attack damage) on-hit magic damage.
This is the bread and butter for Irelia. Without this she'll be basically a walking ward. Ionian Fervor enables Irelia to 1 v 2 and even 1 v 3 in the early game. Before you trade, make sure to have at least 3 stacked if not fully stacked to guarantee win the trade! (However, when you're against sett, it's one of the few matchups that you don't win with your Ionian Fervor fully stacked)
Irelia dashes to the target enemy, dealing 5 / 25 / 45 / 65 / 85 (+60% attack damage) physical damage, applying on-hit effects and healing herself for 12 / 14 / 16/ 18 / 20% of her total attack damage. Bladesurge deals 55 / 75/ /95 / 115 / 135 bonus damage to minions. Cooldown is refunded if the target was marked or dies to Bladesurge
Accuracy and knowing how much damage you do is crucial for Bladesurge. If your q doesn't kill the minion that you dash to, that can really ruin a fight and a trade. I can't tell you how many times I've thrown just by miscalculating my Bladesurge damage.
First cast: Irelia aligns her blades around her, channeling for a few seconds, during which she reduces incoming physical damage by 50% (+7% per 100 AP). Defiant Dance cannot be interrupted.
Second cast: Irelia swipes with her blades in the target direction, dealing 10 / 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 (+50% AD)(+45% ability power) physical damage to all enemies aroudn her and in a line, creased by up to 100% based on channel time.
During the assasins meta, Irelia will be a great counter to Zed, Talon. Their burst / combo will literally do tickle damage if you time your Defiant Dance. You can also use Defiant Dance on the casters to ensure that your Bladesurgekills them.

Irelia sends a blade to the target location for 3.5 seconds. While active, Irelia may re-activate Flawless Duet to send another blade toward another location. Once both blades have been placed and after a short delay, they fly toward each other, dealing 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+80% ability power) magic damage and stunning enemies caught in the crossfire for 0.75 seconds.
Flawless Duet is also an important ability. Irelia's entire kite is center around her passive, Ionian Fervor. If you're able to land most of the Flawless Duet, you'll do just well with her. Always go in at level 2 and try to get a first blood!

Irelia launches a barrage of blades through a wide line in the target direction, exploding outwards upon hitting a champion, dealing 125 / 250 / 375 (+70% of ability power) magic damage, and are slowed by 90% for 1.5 seconds.
Vanguard's Edge improves Irelia's teamfighting ability. Without it, you'll be basically useless in teamfights (unless you land a great e). However, since you're far ahead with Sunfire Aegis built, you can just run in and not die.

Like always, I really don't like the essay type of guides, so I'll just be listing the key important factors that should be done in the early game.

Since we're focusing on 1 v 9ing, you have to get a lead early. (Whether that's a level advantage, cs lead or even a kill or two)

For the first three melee minions, be sure to use your Bladesurge on all three of them and look to kill one caster minion with your Bladesurge. If the enemy comes close to you at all, use Bladesurge on them to proc your passive and basically just mow them down.

Irelia has great outplay potential. Don't be scared to go for a bad trade as you'll have 3 Corrupting Potion and some self sustain.

If you haven't backed yet and you're close to 6. Then your enemy should be pretty low (or at least below 50% hp). At level 6, make sure you have enough mana to use all of your abilities and basically all in! You'll be surprised on how much damage you'll output.
