[13.20] PrestigeGalaxy's Simple Guide to Renata!🔫

By PrestigeGalaxy

Hey! My name is PrestigeGalaxy and I'm a Katarina OTP! I've played Katarina for almost 4 years and have accumulated 3M+ Mastery Points being one of the most played Katarinas in the world (top 20). I've been getting Diamond with her consistently since season 7 and I reached Master in season 11. I've been playing League of Legends since season 2.

I've made a Renata Glasc ONLY account and have had great success with her! Despite not even playing support in general I had great fun learning her kit and trying out different builds. I've been streaming my journey at twitch.tv/prestigegalaxy for around 3 years and have been trying to create a community out of it as well! If you enjoyed my guide or found it useful in any way, consider upvoting it and leaving a comment!

PASSIVE - Leverage

Renata Glasc's basic attacks mark enemies for 6 seconds, dealing 1% − 5.25% (based on level) (+ 1% per 100 AP) of the target's maximum health bonus magic damage if they were unmarked.

Allied champions' damaging attacks and abilities against marked targets consume the mark to deal 1% − 5.25% (based on level) (+ 1% per 100 AP) of their maximum health as additional bonus magic damage.

Attacking a marked enemy will only refresh their mark's duration. Marking a different enemy will remove the mark from the previous target. Leverage's damage is capped at 150 against monsters.

Q - Handshake

ACTIVE: Renata Glasc fires a hook out from her robotic arm in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and rooting them for 1 second, during which they are revealed and Renata Glasc is unable to declare attacks and has her movement speed reduced by 30%. Handshake can be recast while the target is rooted.

RECAST: Renata Glasc knocks the target in the target direction, though not through terrain, dealing the same damage to enemies they pass through and stunning them for 0.5 seconds if the thrown target is a champion.

W - Bailout

Renata Glasc enhances herself or the target allied champion for 5 seconds, granting the target bonus attack speed in addition to bonus movement speed while they are moving toward nearby visible enemy champions and minions, both increasing in effectiveness by 100% over the duration. Bailout's duration resets whenever the target scores a takedown against an enemy champion within 6 seconds of damaging them.

If the target takes fatal damage while Bailout is active, they are restored to 100% of their maximum health but begin burning to take true damage equal to 33% of their maximum health over each second until they die from reaching 0 health, during which Bailout's duration is refreshed every 0.25 seconds. If they score a takedown against an enemy champion within 6 seconds of damaging them while suffering from the burn, it is stopped prematurely and they are set to 35% of their maximum health. This effect may only occur once per application of Bailout while not already active on the target.

E - Loyalty Program

Renata Glasc sends out a chemtech rocket from either side of her that instantly strike targets around her. After 0.429 seconds they converge and travel to the target location as a single missile, striking targets along its path and exploding upon reaching its target location.

Renata Glasc and allies struck are granted a shield for 3 seconds and enemies struck are dealt magic damage and are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds.

R - Hostile Takeover

Renata Glasc launches a cloud of potent chemicals that spreads out in the target direction, which grants sight of its surroundings and turns all enemy champions and minions it passes over berserk for a duration.

Berserk causes afflicted targets to go insane, granting them 100% bonus attack speed and increased size, and forcing them to basic attack the nearest unit, regardless of being allied, enemy, or neutral. They prioritize attacking their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc's allies, then Renata Glasc herself.

Renata Glasc gains kill credit of enemies killed by their berserked allies. Berserked units can be forced to attack all units except structures.

Pros

+ Great Poke
+ Good Shielding/Survivability
+ Can turn fights
+ Very fun playstyle
+ Great Engage/Disengage
+ Synergizes well with hyper carries

Cons

- Can get poked/outranged early game
- Vulnerable to CC (Crowd Control)
- Squishy
- Difficult to play

Summon Aery

PASSIVE: Damaging basic attacks, abilities, item effects, and summoner spells against an enemy champion signal Aery to pounce at them over 0.45 seconds, dealing 10 − 40 (based on level) (+ 15% bonus AD) (+ 10% AP) Adaptive damage. Healing, shielding, or buffing an allied champion signals Aery to jump to them over 0.35 seconds, shielding them for 35 − 80 (based on level) (+ 40% bonus AD) (+ 25% AP) for 2 seconds.

Why Summon Aery?

Summon Aery synergizes really well with your W and E. It's great for offence and defence.

Arcane Comet

Dealing ability damage to an enemy champion hurls an Arcane Comet at their current location that lands after 0.825 seconds, dealing 30 − 100 (based on level) (+ 35% bonus AD) (+ 20% AP) Adaptive damage to enemies in 140 units radius upon impact.

Why Arcane Comet?

When trading in lane you can proc Arcane Comet pretty easily with your E. When using your Q don't rush the second cast, otherwise you'll miss out on the comet damage.

Manaflow Band

Affecting an enemy champion with an ability permanently increases your maximum mana by 25, up to 250 mana. Mana gained from this effect preserves your current mana.
After reaching 250 bonus mana, permanently restore 1% of your missing mana every 5 seconds.

Why Manaflow Band?

Renata Glasc runs out of mana quite fast. Running Manaflow Band will help you with your mana problem.

Transcendence

PASSIVE: Gain bonuses upon reaching the following levels:
Level 5: + 5 ability haste.
Level 8: + 5 ability haste.
Level 11: Scoring a takedown against an enemy champion reduces the remaining cooldowns of your basic abilities by 20%.

Why Transcendence?

You want your E cooldown to be as low as possible hence maxing it first. In addition if your have your W up more often it increases the chance of a potential save on an ally.

Scorch

PASSIVE: Dealing ability damage to an enemy champion sets them on fire, dealing them 15 − 35 (based on level) bonus magic damage after 1 second.

Why Scorch?

You want to deal as much poke damage as possible in laning phase. Scorch just amplifies your E poke damage.

Cheap Shot

Damaging basic attacks and ability damage deal 10 − 45 (based on level) bonus true damage to enemy champions affected by certain crowd control effects.

Why Cheap Shot?

All of Renata Glasc's abilities except of her W synergize well with Cheap Shot. Taking this will amplify your damage even further.

Ghost Poro

When your wards expire, they leave behind a Ghost Poro, which is untargetable and grants sight over a 450-unit area for 90 seconds. Wards killed by enemies or replacement do not spawn Ghost Poros. You can have multiple Ghost Poros at once.

Nearby enemy champions (within 400 center-to-edge radius) scare a Ghost Poro away, causing it to also alert its team and reveal a 150 radius around the triggering champion for 6 seconds.

Gain 1.2 bonus Attack Damage or 2 Ability Power (Adaptive) for every Ghost Poro spawned and when your Ghost Poro spots an enemy champion, up to 10 stacks, for a maximum of 12 bonus Attack Damage or 20 Ability Power (Adaptive). After reaching 10 stacks, additionally gain 6 bonus Attack Damage or 10 Ability Power (Adaptive).

Why Ghost Poro?

Recieving multiple Ghost Poro stacks will increase your stats in lane thus allowing you to deal more poke damage.

Ingenious Hunter

PASSIVE: Gain 20 (+ 6 per Bounty Hunter stack) item haste, up to 50 at 5 stacks.

Earn a Bounty Hunter stack whenever scoring a takedown against an enemy champion, up to one per unique champion.

Why Ingenious Hunter?

Have your item uses up more often!

Glacial Augment

PASSIVE: Immobilizing an enemy champion will cause 3 glacial rays to emanate from them towards you and other nearby enemy champions, creating icy zones that last for 3 (+ 100% of the immobilizing effect's duration) seconds.

Enemies within the icy zones are slowed by 30% (+ 3% per 100 AP) (+ 4% per 100 bonus AD) (+ 9% per 10% heal and shield power) and have their damage reduced by 15% against your allies, excluding yourself.

Why Glacial Augment?

Renata Glasc has a lot of CC in her kit. Landing CC abilities on enemies will cause them to get slowed allowing for an even better setup for you team.

Perfect Timing

PASSIVE: After 14 minutes (reduced by 2 minutes whenever scoring a takedown against an enemy champion), you receive a Perfectly Timed Stopwatch. The Perfectly Timed Stopwatch is identical to the Stopwatch, except it only contributes for a value of 250 Gold. A free cosmetic, Commencing Stopwatch occupies one of your item slots before obtaining a Perfectly Timed Stopwatch.

Why Perfect Timing?

You get a FREE stopwatch however this takes up one of your item slots until 14 mins (reduced by 2 mins per takedown).

Future's Market

PASSIVE: You can enter debt to buy items, up to 145 Gold (+ 5 Gold 5 per minute), which is displayed as negative gold in your treasury.
A 50 Gold lending fee is added onto the amount of gold you owe after leaving the shop.

Why Future's Market?

Get a lead on your opponents by completing items before them!
Cosmic

Cosmic Insight

PASSIVE: Gain 18 summoner spell haste and 10 item haste.

Why Cosmic Insight?

More active item uses as well as having your summoner spells up more often!

Guardian

PASSIVE: While within 350 units of an allied champion, you raise your Guard. Allied champions you affect with unit-targeted abilities are also Guarded for 3 seconds, regardless of distance.

If you or a Guarded ally would take 90 − 250 (based on level) damage within 2.5 seconds or lethal damage from an enemy champion, monster or turret, you both gain a 50 − 130 (based on level) (+ 15% Guardian's AP) (+ 9% of Guardian's bonus health) shield for 2 seconds.

Why Guardian?

As well as amplifying your adc's damage you can also apply a shiled when nearby. This stacked with your E shield will create some unpredictable outplays.

Bone Plating

PASSIVE: After taking damage from an enemy champion, for 1.5 seconds, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from the same enemy champion deal 30 − 60 (based on level) less damage (including true damage).

Why Bone Plating?

If you're against a laner that goes for short/quick trades and has a lot of burst damage pick this!

Font of Life

PASSIVE: Slowing or immobilizing an enemy champion marks them for 4 seconds.

Allied champions (excluding you) who basic attack marked enemies heal for 5 (+ 1% of your maximum health) over 1.75 seconds.

Why Font of Life?

Renata Glasc has a lot of slows/immobilize tools in her kit. This can help heal your adc which in combination with your passive can win you short trades quite easily.

Conditioning

PASSIVE: After 12 minutes, gain 9 bonus armor and 9 bonus magic resistance and your total armor and total magic resistance are increased by 5%.

Why Conditioning?

When picking Conqueror and playing for teamfights especially past the laning phase point, picking a rune like Conditioning will allow you to be a little more tanky thus keeping you alive for more time.

Unflinching

PASSIVE: Gain 10% − 30% (based on missing health) slow resist and tenacity.

Why Unflinching?

When the enemies have a lot of CC take this!

Revitalize

Outgoing Heal power icon.png healing and outgoing shielding are increased by 10% on targets below 40% of their maximum health.
Incoming healing, incoming shielding, self healing and self shielding are increased by 10% while you are below 40% of your maximum health.

Why Revitalize?

Picking Revitalize will increase your shielding and healing power given by your W.
As soon as the game starts get your free warding trinket from the shop and head to the river and place a ward where you think the enemy might try to invade from. When your ward dies it will leave behind a Ghost Poro. In lane start by trading with your E while also negating their damage with the shield portion. Renata Glasc's E can shield you and your ally with both portions of the E. Make sure you're using your auto attacks to amplify damage where needed. At level 2 take your Q for engage/disengage. If you can land a Q on your laners, pull them towards you and then cast your E. You can also throw them into their ally which will briefly stun them allowing you to cast your E a lot easier. At level 3 you can turn most fights with your W. Make sure your cast it on your ally as soon as they're about to die because you don't want the effect to run out causing your ally to just die. At level 6 make sure to use your R mostly reactively due to its long cast/travel time. For example, the perfect time to use it in lane is when the enemy engages onto you or when the enemy jungler ganks you.

When backing aim to buy your Ionian Boots of Lucidity and your core ''mythic'' item. Try to get as many stacks of your Spellthief's Edge as possible. If doing so your support item will evolve allowing you to place free wards. When this happens make sure you replace your trinket to the Oracle Lens. You also want to be buying Control Wards to clear enemy wards. You usually want to place a Control Ward in the bush on your side of the lane and then a normal ward in their side of the lane. Doing this will prevent your laner from easily taking your Control Ward and getting 75 gold as well.
When objectives such as dragon start to spawn make sure you have vision by placing a ward in the pit. Vision control is really important, ESPECIALLY after laning phase. This is why items such as Vigilant Wardstone are really good. Make sure you're using your Shard of True Ice to its full potential as well as buying a decent amount of Control Wards.

Outside of laning phase your primary engage/disengage tool is your R. Make sure you position yourself well so that you can not only hit a good R but also not to get caught out causing you to waste your R/summoner spells. In addition, watch out for key CC/setup abilities from your team such as Amumu's Curse of the Sad Mummy and Malphite's Unstoppable Force.

Make sure you use your W on the ally you think will guarentee a takedown and will be the most useful in a fight. Again make sure you don't cast it too early because the effect will run out and then your team will be more vunlerable.

You can use your R offensively when the enemy team is taking an objective such as dragon and rift herald. They will stop focusing the objective and start fighting each other!
Your playstyle shouldn't be any different to what it was in the mid game. Play safe in team fights and focus on landing a good ultimate while also keeping an eye on your carry champion for potential Ws.

Objectives become a little more important now because you should be at the point where either team will get a "Soul" dragon, baron or even Elder Dragon. If the enemies start to take either objective make sure you cast your R to either delay them from taking said objective, potentially allow your jungler to steal it at the last moment, or just lower them enough to the point where even after they might take the objective you can just ace them and go end the game due to high death timers.
In conclusion Renata Glasc is a very fun/hard enchanter support with a very unique kit. I had a blast playing her even though I don't play support too often. Her W and her R are really good tools that can help you turn around any fight that seems lost. It can also make your opponents want to flame you over discord!
