I am not the rank 1 bel, I just watch his stream, ttv nyx1v9, he gave permission to make this guide. His core build and runes are shown here, everything besides the Core runes and core items/core situational items are my doing as a 2k games multi season diamond/masters Bel'veth OTP. The situational builds I cooked are all my doing and I recommend the rank 1 Bel's instead xD.

Threats Explained
Bel'veth is the shortest ranged champion in the game, the epidome of Melee. Champions who are anti-melee on hit counter bel'veth. These champions include but are not limited to: Illaoi, Swain, Olaf, Nilah, Rumble, Tahm Kench, Anivia, Galio, Shen, Xayah, and worst of all Rammus. You're forced into their range where they have tools to kite you/stat check you and win.
Since Bel'veth is short range and relatively squishy, she is a prime target for CC, so point and click CC or heavy CC champs annoy her, such as: Amumu, Lissandra, Alistar, Poppy, Zac, Ryze, Tahm Kench, and Ornn. These champs are usually strong in teamfights which is one of Bel'veth's weaknesses as well.
Bel'veth relies on her damage reduction from her E to win duels, characters with true damage ignore her E and beat her such as: Darius, Master Yi, and Cho'Gath. It's best to keep your distance 1v1 unless they are far behind relative to you.
Conversely, Bel'veth does well against enemies who cannot stack check her, CC her, or burst her with True damage, such as immobile scaling characters since she can dash to reach them if they ever walk up to farm a wave. These characters include: Smolder, xerath, syndra, twitch, sona, vel'kox, viktor, Cassiopea, and Teemo. They should be free kills if you gank and they don't have flash (most champs are).
A lot of her worst matchups she can either abuse early or outscale. For example, heavy CC tanks like skarner, amumu, zac, and rammus are susceptible to her early invades where she can create large leads and keep them out of their jungle and stopping their ganks since you know where they are. Champions who are strong mid game like Malphite, Tahm kench, Olaf, Illaoi, and Poppy can get outscaled if you avoid them until you get a few more items and the matchups turn, especially once you get more tenacity or BOTRK.
Also characters that you could dominate early like Ryze, Soraka, and Lilia, Gwen, and Sylas can become issues if you don't snowball off their weak earlies hard enough.

Synergies Explained
Generally, Bel'Veth wants aggressive early teamates and lane priority so she can safely invade. These come in the form of a Renekton top lane, a Leblanc mid lane, and a Draven ADC. All of these high damage characters mean when you gank their lanes a kill is highly likely and you can snowball together.
Bel'Veth wants AP solo laners so enemies can't easily itemize plated steelcaps or other armor items, so by default AP laners have a small synergy with Bel'veth.
Above all, champs with heavy or easily landable CC can gaurantee kills for Bel'veth allowing her to snowball. Champs like Ryze, Sejuani Lissandra, Malphite, Nautilus, Shen, Alistar, not only help you early, but she also needs champs to engage for her and tank damage and CC so she can go in later in the game.
Roaming mid laners like Vex, Ahri, and Talon also synergize with you since they can invade or dive sidelanes with you, making it really hard for the enemy to play. Often I'll invade, maybe not get the kill but I'll leave a ward, and my assassin mid can rotate and clean it up.
Losing lanes, scaling lanes, and enchanter supports who cannot engage or safely place/clear vision later in the game or walk in first to tank the enemies damage/CC make it near impossible to play Bel'veth at her full potential which is NOT an infinite scaler but an AGGRESSIVE early invading and ganking PSYCOPATH. It is almost not even worth playing if you have multiple of the Kayles, Kassadins, Smolders and enchanters on your team. Scaling tops are the worst of all since they gaurantee you won't have a good shot at grubs or rift and will be denied your true form.
