Introduction To OP-NESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I'm Maxiboyhaha and I'm bringing you guys a SICK guide to gangplank and I hope you guys enjoy this guide. May the force be with you in this ultra guide of op-ness!!!! I will be talking about A LOT of thing in this guide and you will be amazed at how PRO gangplank sounds without even playing him yet. This is the beginning of a gangplank banning spree in ranked :)

The continent of Valoran, however, is a dangerous place for pirates; Gangplank could read the writing on the wall. The den of pirates known as Bilgewater would soon be pulled down by the undertow of Valoranian politics and the Institute of War. It was time for Bilgewater to have their own champion to represent them in the League of Legends, and who better than the fiercest pirate of them all? It is said that Gangplank has enough power and favor to claim the title of the Pirate King back home, but that he is simply biding his time and building his reputation as a champion before he returns to a life of piracy.
Yo ho, blow the man down. Or at least shoot him when his back is turned and steal all his booty.
Alright so the runes I'm running are:
Greater Mark of Malice x9
Greater Seal of Malice x8
Greater Seal of Furor x1
Greater Glyph of Malice x9
Greater Quintessence of Malice x3
Alright guys!
So this is the reasoning to my kinda awkward rune setup. You guys are probably wondering why I would get a
Greater Seal of Critical Damage. Well this is because all these other runes combined equal to around a bit over 19.75. This will round up to 20% so you have a FREE slot for ANY kind of rune you wish. This really won't make a big difference, but you never know, maybe it will come in handy. This slot can be replaced by about any other rune out there. My second choice for it will be
Greater Seal of Attack Speed. Some extra DPS would hurt.

Alright, now with the masteries. The reason i picked these standard masteries(21-0-9) is because of the extra crit chance (2%) and the extra crit damage (10%). This will greatly increase your early game harass and will make your enemies fear you when you take 1/3 of their life in one bullet. The reason you get the neutral buff duration over the other options is because of the blue buff. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! Get the BLUE BUFF! This is incredible with Gangplank because of his abilities to harass with Q, have unlimited healing, and has LOW C/D for every single skill which is EXTREMELY helpful for Gangplank. With that C/D reduction, you can harass with Q a lot more frequently, and heal unlimitedly. Your ult will have a C/D of about 70 sec at level 16+ which can be sort of useful if you need to use it.
The reason I picked these items were because they match well together and I think these items really benefit GP show his true colours.
1)You want to start off with a
Brawler's Gloves and 2
Health Potion. This will give you 30% crit at level 1 and if you crit your enemies even once, they will be scared ****less and you can enjoy your laning
2)I always love to get an item with a money boost because the
Avarice Blade is the best for Gangplank. This item doesn't just give a sick money boost, it also gives a 12% crit chance which will make your crit chance 34%, an extra bonus.
3)The next time you recall you should make your way to the
Boots UNLESSyou have 830 gold. If you have 830 gold then get a
Cloak of Agility for that extra crit chance before getting a pair of boots. If you do not have the money, DO NOT SAVE UP FOR IT!!!! Also, do not upgrade your boots to
Ionian Boots of Lucidity. This is just a waste when you can start building Phantom Dancers.
4)After you get the
Avarice Blade and
Boots, you should make gold easily and you should go straight for a
Phantom Dancer. This item will GREATLY increase your stats. This item is especially good for Gangplank since he needs ALL the items stats. Crit chance: Extra chance to increase bullet damage, which is really good if Gangplank needs that extra boost for
Parrrley. Attack Speed:Easier for Gangplank to stack his poison on 1 enemy, which will kill him faster and slow him a lot faster than having a lower DPS. Movement Speed:Helps with a chase and escape because when you are chasing someone, they might have a bit lower running speed with this and you have just enough time to parrrley them for the kill before they get behind turret range.
5)Upgrade your boots now. UNLESS you have enough for a part of infinity edge (830+). Any part of infinity edge is CRUCIAL for Gangplank because it is the Infinity Edge that makes GangPlank and his Parrrley OP. If you don't have enough for the Cloak+, don't bother saving up for it, just get the boots.
6)Now is the time to choose (for once) :). If your enemy team is full of nukers (
Veigar
Malzahar
Annie)etc, then you should get a Phage first before you get a Zeal. This item will give enough hp for you not to get nuked and you can run up to them and SHANK their face once all their skills are on C/D. Either way, DO NOT BUILD THE
Sheen!!!!!!!!!!! The sheen is NOT as useful as the zeal or phage.
7)After you get the Phage and Zeal, upgrade this to the trinity force. This item gives extreme bonuses on almost every stat.
8)At this rate you might be losing some HP when jungling for blue buff or red buff so you will want to get a
Vampiric Scepter. This beast will keep your HP at 100% in the jungle while taking buffs
9)When you get enough money for the Bloodthrister, you get it. I know you might be wondering: MAXIBOYHAHA! Why would you freakin get a little 450 Vampiric Scepter when you can get a B.F. Sword that is worth 1650!!!!!!!!!! Well, the reason for this is because i think that you have enough attack damage from the items you currently have, but you do not have lifesteal at all. Lifesteal is more important than B.F. Sword in the situation because it is probably mid/late game (depends on how well your doing) and you will be facing some tough ad dps carries that think your a threat. They exhaust you and your attack damage won't matter anymore. They will screw you over even if you exhaust em back because the chances are that they have lifesteal. BUT!!! If you get some lifesteal, when you face them they will damage you severely. They will probably wound you until you are 1/2 hp and they will still be at 3/4 or so. This will be bad for you. But no worries :) This extra lifesteal will slowly rip them apart as the hp %s start changing at you are at 3/4 and they are at half in just a few auto attacks. DO NOT PARRRLEY THEM WHILE IN THIS FIGHT!!!!!! This is because your parrrley will do around 800 damage (crit) and your auto attack does 500 (crit). The animation for parrrley takes way too long when you could have just dealt 1000 damage, you only deal 800. When they start running away, they should be slowed by 28% cuz of your passive, If they have cleanse or some kind of debuff
Quicksilver Sash, you can just E and chase em or ghost and parrrley their ******** which will apply a slow or even kill them and you can just finish them off with auto attacks and parrrley.
10)This item is also a flexible item. If the enemy team has high movement speeds
Xin Zhao and high damage
Brand then i would suggest getting a
Frozen Mallet. If their team doesn't threaten you too much, then get a Youmou's Ghostblade. This item can also be replaced with a
Last Whisper if the enemy team has a Malphite or a Morde so you can take out their armour easily. I highly recommend a defensive item of some sort because it will really help you late game. Everyone is pretty much overpowered in late game and if you get down to around 80 minutes in, everyone will probably have their full build and it is anybody's game (first team to score aces or quadras). A defensive item will definitely help you if your get targeted because you are one of your teams carries and YOU ARE IMPORTANT!!! Don't think of yourself as a bad player because you are not. Defensive items and going to help you survive and score that ace or quadra your team needs to make the final push. A
Guardian Angel will help against a well balanced team. If you are stuck against nukers then get a
Banshee's Veil. If they have an AP carry that isn't a nuke, get a
Force of Nature (
Jax,
Nidalee,
Poppy, etc.)
1)You want to start off with a
