[650k Mastery Points] Spray and Pray! Season 9 Twitch Guide

By Laverenz
Introduction
Hello! My name is Laverenz and welcome to my Twitch guide. I stream every now and then on www.twitch.tv/laverenz
Twitch has always been one of my favourite junglers/adc's in the game. He is a stealthy little rat, how cool is that? Twitch is a heavy attack speed reliant ranged carry, with huge unexpected burst if ahead. He is able to make easy ganks as well as hard carry games. I haven't really reached any achievements on Twitch yet, other than high mastery point score. I was rank 900 Twitch world at one point, but nothing really worth talking a lot about, as I got carried by my duo partner xd. Let's just get started, right?

*NOTE*: English is not my primary langauge, so please excuse me if any mistakes gets made. Thanks :)

This guide focuses on:
- Runes
- Items
- Pros / Cons
- Abilities
- Team Fights
- Early Game
- Mid Game
- Late Game
Twitch's Lore
A Zaunite plague rat by birth, but a connoisseur of filth by passion, Twitch is not afraid to get his paws dirty. Aiming a chem-powered crossbow at the gilded heart of Piltover, he has vowed to show those in the city above just how filthy they really are. Always a sneaky sneak, when he's not rooting around in the Sump, he's digging deep into other people's garbage for discarded treasures… and perhaps a moldy sandwich.

A plague rat by birth, a connoisseur of filth by passion, Twitch is a paranoid and mutated rat that walks upright and roots through the dregs of Zaun for treasures only he truly values. Armed with a chem-powered crossbow, Twitch is not afraid to get his paws dirty as he builds a throne of refuse in his kingdom of filth, endlessly plotting the downfall of humanity.

H.I.V.E. Incident Report
Code Violation: Industrial Homicide
Casefile Status: Unsolved
Investigating Agent: Rol, P.

Team responded to report of suspicious character, criminal activity; proceeded to Sump Works, Sector 90TZ. Sector 90TZ notably absent. In its place: sinkhole, smoke, noxious fumes. Interviews with private security indicate urgent need for better private security.

Response team entered sinkhole. Toxic runoff had melted away building wreckage. Two survivors located, one partially liquefied and dripping off catwalk. Six deceased bodies found among wreckage, three of them partial; two appear to predate incident. Causes of death include acute deceleration, caustic liquidation, and/or fatal crossbow wounds. Unclear if lab's destruction was itself the perpetrator's motive or an attempt to cover tracks.

Survivor #1 (Ra Qintava, facility researcher) brought up for interview, but unable to provide statement due to 1) post-traumatic stress and 2) liquefaction of tongue and lower jaw. Awaiting toxin screen and prosthesis fitting.

Search-and-rescue discovered apparent shantytown constructed from refuse. Recovered items include:

57 waterlogged romance novels, illegible, with edits made in crayon
108 bottles, unlabeled (possible toxic runoff or discarded shampoo remnants)
200 pounds chewing gum (possible installation art project)
1 jar toenails, labeled by toe/finger, date, and mood

Survivor #2 (Valori Olant, Sludge Analyst) in recovery; regained lucidity following prolonged therapeutic electrocution. Statement transcript excerpt follows:

V.O.: GOT TO DO SOMETHING -
NURSE: She's lost so much blood --
P.R.: Her co-workers lost a lot more than that --
V.O.: IT'S STILL OUT THERE!
P.R.: Ma'am, I need you to focus. Tell me what he looked like.
V.O.: LIKE A RAT! (pause)
NURSE: Like a what?
P.R.: You mean, small? Beady-eyed? Sorta rat-faced -- ?
V.O.: I MEAN IT LOOKED LIKE A GIANT GODSDAMNED RAT! (pause). WITH A CROSSBOW! (pause).
P.R.: (to nurse) Can we moderate her painkillers?
V.O.: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING! IT'S A HOMICIDAL, PSYCHOPATHIC, GIANT FREAKING RAT!
IN A WAISTCOAT!
P.R.: Nurse?
NURSE: (injecting Olant's arm with sedative) On it.
[EDIT]
V.O.: We were just scientists, working on refining human waste into inexpensive baby formula... [EDIT] I saw - I don't know how else to - this crazed, enormous RAT - screaming at us! Kicking over vats! Spitting on our food! [EDIT] The lab was sealed. Industrial waste was spilling everywhere. Nowhere to run. [EDIT] I woke up in the dark. Well, the acid had melted my eyeballs. I could SMELL the twitchy bastard inches from my face. It said, “NOBODY STEALS TWITCH'S JUICE!” cackled wildly, and skittered off... I can still smell it in my mind. OH MY GODS, I CAN STILL SMELL IT-

End transcript. At this point victim began screaming; has yet to stop.

[UPDATE: Qintava, Written Testimony]

H.I.V.E - Enforcing Progress!

As you can above, Twitch sounds really cool, right?
Runes
For Twitch, I will always go for Lethal Tempo for my Keystone, as it gives a lot of quick burst. With this rune, you will be able to quickly burst down the enemy team if they stack up or you are in a good position to give them the treatment. Furthermore, I take Sudden Impact because you will get a burst of lethality after leaving stealth, which you most likely will do on every gank or in the start of every teamfight. Relentless Hunter is taking because you need the extra movement speed to gank more lanes and get more kills. The rest of the runes are self-explanatory.

On the second hand, Press the Attack is also an option to take when playing twitch in the jungle. Press the Attack gives a lot of early burst, when ganking level 2 after red buff, and it's also the best replacement for Lethal Tempo, for those who aren't as secure on their own kiting skills as an individual.
Pros / Cons
Pros

+ High mobility with Ambush
+ Can slow with Venom Cask
+ High outplay-potential by kiting
+ Attack speed steroid
+ Can go invisible with Ambush
+ Boosting-strategy potential
+ Extremely strong late-game
+ Extremely strong early gank potential

Twitch is a great pick in solo queue. He is an easy champion to solo carry with, as he can fight most champions 1v1 throughout most of the game basically. Also, Twitch is one of the "Right Click Champions", which makes him easy to play. Twitch is also one of the, if not the best late-game ADC in the game, as he has a lot of burst on the enemy team and he deals an insane amount of damage to tanks as well. He is great at escaping one-shot-carries from the enemy team if you have red buff, which you most likely will have most of the game.
Cons

- Bad early game
- Vulnerable to binds/slows
- Needs kills or assists early game
- Squishy
- Short ranged without ult
- Easily killed by chain CC
- Easily falls behind when destroyed in the jungle
- Takes a lot of practice to master

As per all champions, Twitch has his strengths, and his weaknesses. Compared to other ADCs/Junglers, Twitch's late game can be considered extremely strong, if ahead. Well it's hard to get back in the game if behind from early game. Twitch can be destroyed easily by CC, which is pretty hard to do anything against, unless you have Quicksilver Sash. A lot of people have a bad mindset when playing Twitch. Many people think they are "RatIRL" or any other Twitch god, which makes it really easy for the player to overestimate him/herself, thinking they can go 1v5. Also, you need to be really good at kiting to play Twitch well. Make sure you get that on point are at least try, because otherwise, you will get melted basically.
Farming
As per all champions, Twitch really needs a good early game or at least a lot of farm to really shine. Always aim for having higher farm than the enemy jungler/ADC. Keep your farm up, it's important. It's really important for Twitch to have a lot of farm early game, as you really shine in the late-game, as late-game is the strongest part of the game as a Twitch. If you're against a hard matchup, make sure to not fight or take any unnecessary fights. Instead you should keep your farm up. It's usually the best to do as Twitch.
Abilities
You can see the ability maxing order in the top of the guide. For this chapter, I'd like to add some more important combos and tactics to use you spells correctly. If your ult is up, make sure to always use R before beginning to attacking after leaving stealth. Actually, you can active your R 1 or 0,5 seconds before engaging your first basic attack. Make sure to kite well, as your passive Deadly Venom get applied, which empowers the damage output of your E. You will always want to max E, as it scales best and is the key ability to finishing off the job, if an enemy is out of your basic attack range.

Twitch's Passive:
Twitch's basic attacks infect the target, dealing true damage each second.

Twitch's Q:
Twitch becomes Camouflaged for a short duration and gains Movement Speed. When leaving Camouflage, Twitch gains Attack Speed for a short duration.

When an enemy champion with Deadly Venom dies, Ambush's cooldown is reset.

Twitch becomes Camouflaged and gains 10% Movement Speed for 10/11/12/13/14 seconds. This bonus triples when he is nearby an enemy champion that cannot see him. Twitch gains 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed for 5 seconds after exiting Ambush. Ambush resets when a champion dies while affected by Deadly Venom.
Stealth - Camouflage: Twitch is hidden from view while enemy champions remain outside his detection radius. Attacking or casting spells ends Camouflage.

Twitch's W:
Twitch hurls a cask of venom that explodes in an area, slowing targets and applying deadly venom to the target.

Twitch hurls a cask that adds a stack of Deadly Venom to all enemies struck and leaves behind a toxic cloud that persists for 3 seconds.Enemies that remain within the cloud have 25/30/35/40/45% reduced Movement Speed and receive an additional stack of Deadly Venom each second.

Twitch's E:
Twitch wreaks further havoc on poisoned enemies with a blast of his vile diseases.

Deals 20/30/40/50/60 physical damage plus 15/20/25/30/35 (+20% Ability Power) (+0) per stack of Deadly Venom to all nearby enemies affected by Deadly Venom.

Twitch's R:
Twitch unleashes the full power of his crossbow, shooting bolts over a great distance that pierce all enemies caught in their path.

For 5 seconds Twitch gains 300 Attack Range and 20/30/40 Bonus Attack Damage. For the duration, his basic attacks become piercing bolts that deal 20% less damage to subsequent targets, down to a minimum of 40% damage.
Stealth - Camouflage: Activating Spray and Pray does not end Camouflage.
Team Fights
In teamfighs you should always go for killing easy targets, you have no real single target, but rather easy kills. Prioritize in saving your teammates, who are getting killed, if you see they are in danger. And remember, kiting is really important. You should really just think with your own brain for this part, I know a lot of people tend to panic, whenever a teamfight escalates, but try to keep your head calm, and get away from any hard cc, as well as any oneshot-potential champions on the enemy team, as they basically will destroy the whole fight for you.
Picking Twitch
When it comes to playing him or not, I'd say you should play him whenever you feel like man. Of course you can get into some hard matchups, but there's nothing that's unwinable, unless you have my teams (hehe). But i suggest you REALLY should try to play Twitch, when you are premade with someone, who is willing to play an " Ardent Censer" support champion, or whenever you can see the enemy team haven't picked a lot of hard CC champion, like: Leona, Sejuani, Rammus, Malzahar etc.
Early-game (Minute 1-10)
There's a lot of early ganking in Twitch's early game, as well as farming the jungle camps. Remember that Twitch has a really bad early game, when being alone, as he needs qiute a few items to scale right. Make sure to farm a lot for late game. I can't tell you enough times how important farm is when playing as Twitch. Make sure to have some kind of timer on your jungle camps, whether it's in your head or on your mobile where you set an alarm (lol, some people actually do this), and make sure to get easy kills in lanes whenever you can.
Mid-game (Minute 10-25)
This is the point of the game, where Twitch starts to scale. Make sure to contest in every objective, as you can fight pretty well at this point of the game. See if you can make pressure around baron, as baron buff is the best buff in the game, which most-likely will get you a win. Your Deadly Venom, as well as Contaminate has a lot of damage against objectives, like Dragons and Barons, because your Deadly Venom will deal continuous damage as true damage, and your Contaminate will give a nice damage output as well. However, you should always save Contaminate if you know, FOR SURE, that the enemy team will try to contest whatever objective you're currently killing. If you get the Baron buff, make sure to spread out. Buff your minions in as many lanes as possible, this is where Baron is most effective. Make sure your enemies won't get Baron buff, because then their minions will push a lot, which is a problem for Twitch, as he doesn't have a lot of waveclear, if you, for some reason, haven't acquired Runaan's Hurricane yet.
Late-game (Minute 25-∞)
This is where the fun begins. Twitch is so overpowered at this point of the game, especially when having either of the "Good Synergy Supports", because of your scalings from the items you have acquired. Make sure to kill Elder Dragon as this is really REALLY strong. If you get Elder Dragon make sure to force fights, as the buff gives you a really good DOT (Damage over time). Also, if Baron is not dead at this point of the game, make sure to secure it, as Elder Dragon + Baron Nashor gives extremely good stats, so make sure to force fights if you get either of them. Enemy assassins or divers will hard-focus you at this point of the game, which makes it hard for you to survive, because you have to rely on defensive items and your support to keep you alive. Make sure to stand backline at all times throughout fights, because if you die, you will lose the game basically.
