Introduction

Hello MobaFire,

My name is Hotrod08(NA), and I am a Diamond IV Support player coming out of Season 7. I create weekly build videos (as well as other support-focused content), and am going to post MobaFire builds on here for each release of a new guide that I put out.

This MobaFire guide is going to feature Pyke, which will be based on making his laning phase rather strong while also providing him durability within team fights later on in the game.

6/9/18 Edit: I switched the build and video along with it to match what has been tried and true to work on Pyke. I am also not the biggest users of MobaFire, but I decided that it was worth my time to edit the guide to make it more visually appealing to my audience, so I hope you enjoy the changes! Runes

Primary Path:

(Keystone): Flat durability when you engage a fight both early and in team fights.
: Extra durability when engaging fight both early and in team fights.
: Gives you added sustain during the laning phase. You can take as replacement if you don't need extra sustain.
: Gives extra sustain and regen to both yourself and your ADC using Relic Shield. You can take if you need the Tenacity instead.

Secondary Path:

: Extra AD for Pyke's autoattacks as well as his ratios.
: Gives Pyke extra out of combat movement speed, helping him get around the map faster. If you need extra vision control early in the game, take instead.

Items

Pyke scales with AD and works well with Durability, so those are the two stats that we are going to be looking at. He's still a support champion, so we'll be starting off with Relic Shield and taking it from there:

Abilities

PASSIVE: Gift of the Drowned Ones

When Pyke is unseen by enemies, he rapidly regenerates some of the health recently lost to enemy champions. Pyke also converts his bonus health into bonus attack damage instead.

Q: Bone Skewer

Tap: Pyke stabs and greatly slows all enemies in front of him.
Hold: Pyke readies and then throws his harpoon, impaling the first enemy struck and pulling them a fixed distance towards him.

W: Ghostwater Dive

Pyke dives into spectral waters, entering camouflage and gaining a significant increase to his movement speed that decays over a few seconds.
Camouflage hides Pyke from view while enemies remain outside his immediate area. Attacking or casting spells immediately ends camouflage.

E: Phantom Undertow

Pyke dashes, leaving behind a drowned phantom. After a delay, the phantom returns to Pyke, damaging and stunning enemies it passes through.

R: Death From Below

Pyke strikes in an X-shaped area, blinking to champions and executing those below a certain flat amount of health. Enemies in the X that are not executed take damage equal to this amount.
When a champion dies in the X, the last ally to assist also gains full kill gold and kill credit, and Pyke can instantly use Death from Below again for a short period of time.

Ability Set

With Pyke, you'll want to Lv. 1 go Q, since it's your best harrass/initiate, Lv. 2 E since it's your reliable engage/disengage, and at Lv. 3, if you don't need the movement speed from W, put a 2nd point into Q, elsewise put a point into W. Max Q for extra initiate damage and lower cooldown, then E, then W. Upgrade your Ultimate at Lv. 6/11/16.

Conclusion

Pyke is a very niche support, one that builds AD and Lethality, which is something no other Support does. If you play him well though, he will be a very fun support that can carry himself in games.
