Update Note [23/11/2017 09:57 GMT +2]: Guide overall update, adding detailed information about the build sequence, item choice, jungling etc.
Old Information for viewers:
Feel free to leave a comment. This is my second guide. I will appreciate any type of advice.
This is my second guide so i'm taking my time to make it good & i kinda doubt that most people on mobafire read these guide texts. Have seen many guides with Troll Build Orders. And when you scroll down and start reading the author talks about what items to not use which sometimes consist of half of the items as recommended items in the authors build. So just a pro tip on mobafire. Keep you'r eye opens and use your precious time to read a bit ;)
P.S Don't worry i won't do that kind of thing and you can go ahead and build the items i have stated in the build orders. They work really good and have helped me climb up in the ranking ladder ;)
I hope you guys can respect that.
I will get used to making guides soon enough :3
Fun Fact about me:
I'm ranked 3,220 Udyr worldwide and 539 on EUNE (My main server).
Honorable mention: I'm ranked 2,279 Skarner and 254 on EUNE.
Other champions I play:
Janna, Kha'Zix, Kog'Maw, Nasus, Poppy, Sion, Shaco, Skarner, Sona, Soraka, Thresh & Tristana.
........................................Jungle: Udyr, Skarner, Kha'Zix & Shaco.
........................................Mid: Syndra, Zed & Talon
........................................ADC: Kog'Maw & Tristana.
........................................Supprot: Sona, Janna, Soraka & Thresh.
You always want to start with this jungling item, because it gives you more early game sustain with the extra lifesteal and W proc. On Udyr it's the only way of starting jungle. I oftenly see people who use Hunter's Talisman as their first jungle item. That's a huge mistake, because it wont give you such sustain as Hunter's Machete. It might be hard to get used to the Hunter's Machete at first, because you don't have the mana sustain, but if you follow my jungle clear guide you wont struggle with mana.
Your secondary item should always be Rejuvenation Bead because it gives you even more sustain and makes the jungle clear a lot easier. And your already buying a small part of the Tiamat which is a very important item for Udyr
Stalker's Blade - Warrior
Your next main item which should be rushed. Stalker's Blade - Warrior is honestly the most broken item on Udyr right now. And you should build any other jungle item on him.
As soon as you finish this item you will get a huge damage peak over the enemy teams champions. And of course it gives you more CDR which is a huge part for being strong as Udyr, because you have to constantly change forms and proc your passives.
Boots of Swiftness
From my personal experience i rarely find myself buying any other boots, because you already gain all the needed sustain (Armor/Magic Resist) from other items that your buying. And i find it more useful to have a bit more movement speed + your E proc. Which allows you to chase down your enemys. And throw that hard CC or huge damage onto the enemy.
Of course if your lined up against strong AD or AP damage dealers, you can consider buying Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads and you should still be able to chase down enemys only with your E proc. But i still find it more useful to gain more MS with [[boots of swiftness] only because you save more time chasing someone down and open more fight possibilities.
This item play as big of a part as Stalker's Blade - Warrior. You gain huge amount of damage, faster clear & pushing power. Almost as much as Tiamat's active proc gives you advantage in fighting, the only difference is that this item scales better for mid/late game. And of course the extra life-steal + W proc gives you even more sustain and can help you get back into fights if you get beaten down. Just run to minions or jungle camps which are close by life-steal off of them and your good to go back into the fight.
Similar as Titanic Hydra, but the main difference is that it gives you extra damage but less tankyness. But no worries you can always just throw in another item to balance out your sustain and make you tanky if needed.
A huge part in any Udyr build because it just instantly makes you out scale your enemy's (Of course if your doing good) and just boost your overall stats and gives you more attack speed, which is a huge part for my type of Udyr builds because you can use the extra AS to proc your Q & W passive or even if you go AP Udyr your R passive proc
Thornmail or Frozen Heart
These items just give you overall tankyness and a huge sustain advantage. These items are self explanatory. Just analyze the enemy team and pick which one is the best for the situation.
Adaptive Helm, Spirit Visage or Abyssal Mask
Similar as previous two items, just gives you extra sustain & remember to choose the right one for the right situation, regarding enemy skill shots etc.
Gives you a huge amount of damage with your Q proc, some crits and even more CDR which scales with your crit chance.
Gives you a burst of lethality to deal even more damage and out scale your enemy's. With the help of your other items you should be able to one shot any Squishy. It's really useful if you have a tank on your team. Just position yourself correctly and go and one shot their main damage dealer. This items active is really useful for chasing and team fights.
Duskblade of Draktharr
Similar scenario as Youmuu's Ghostblade, but the main difference is that with the passive you will deal more damage. So as always just analyze the enemy team and choose what will work better against them.
Don't always strictly follow the build order i provided on the top of the page. Adapt to the enemy team analyze them as much as you can and switch out for other alternate items to give you the needed sustain etc.
Jungling & Jungling routes
This is the way i do my clear i usually stick to two routes and always start on bot side for a faster & better leash.
Blue side path: Blue Sentinel > Wolves > Red Brambleback > Raptors > Rift Scuttler > Ancient Krug .
A bit more in depth about this route: Follow the route strictly the order till Rift Scuttler at the point you kill the Raptors look to see if you have a possibility to gank mid lane or top lane. Early ganks with Udyr are really OP and you will most likely get a kill or at least burn enemy's summoner spells and give your team's laner an advantage. After the gank I'm usually at pretty healthy and continue to complete my clear by killing the Rift Scuttler & Ancient Krug . After that i usually back and buy 2 Long Sword or Caulfield's Warhammer. Sometimes your even pocked filled as much that you can grab Caulfield's Warhammer & Boots of Speed. After that you'r pretty much ahead most enemy jungle champs and can dominate the enemy team with ganks. As soon as you finish Stalker's Blade - Warrior your able to 1v1 most enemy junglers. But i don't recommend doing that to anyone new to Udyr. Because you have to be smart with your skill usage. For example 1v1 good Lee players it's important to proc your Q, W, E correctly.
Red side path: Red Brambleback > Raptors > Wolves > Blue Sentinel > Rift Scuttler > Gromp
More in depth for this route: Similar to the blue side you stop at the Rift Scuttler and see if you can maybe do a gank on mid or bot lane. After ganking proceed to kill Rift Scuttler & Gromp .
But of course there are other alternate routes i take by analyzing the enemy team. For example if you start Blue Sentinel and notice that the enemy top lane is stronger & you doubt you will be able to gank him lvl 3, then consider doing a full clear. And after your done with clear just analyze all lanes and see if your able to gank any of them. If not just back, buy your items and proceed to farm up and try to gank. From my personal experience with Udyr which I have been playing since 2014. As soon as you gain a gold lead over the enemy team your most likely going to win the game, as long as you play it smart and help your team take lane advantage.
Other things you should know while jungling as Udyr.
Udyr is able to take Dragon at level 4-5-6. Judging by your items. My recommendation is to do the clear, gank, back buy Caulfield's Warhammer and try to go take drake, but only if your pretty sure that the enemy jungler is not close and they don't have vision over the drake pit. At the same time you can take Rift Herald at the same power peak you have achieved with that quick jungle clear + gank.
