Rush bramble into Tabis and bami's cinder and there's no way he can win. If he gets 2-3 kills because of ganks, just play safer until you complete Sunfire along with Tabis and bramble!
Akali
She's annoying, but not impossible to beat! Rush bami's cinder to reveal her during her W and get mercs if they have an AP mid as well. If not > tabis!
Cho'Gath
Against mostly all tanks, you simply deal a lot more damage that they can witstand early game. Those are MALPHITE, MAOKAI, NASUS, NAUTILUS, ORNN, SHEN, CHOGATH, SION, SINGED.
Dr. Mundo
Abuse your power before level 6. After that, dont make long trades and before trying to kill him, try to bait out his ultimate (even though if he gets low enough, you have plenty of damage to kill him through it).
Fiora
If she parrys your Q, that's a yikers, but if you can hit it constantly, you should win this lane easily.
Gangplank
He is quite annoying early with his constant Q poke, but after you buy Sheen, rush tabis and you can pretty much tower dive him at around lvl 8-9.
Gnar
Don't get poked too much when he's in his mini form and try to make him use his jump to safety. After that, you can outtrade him easy. You kill him even easier in his Mega form.
Illaoi
You're not gonna have a good time on this lane. Your only chance to outtrade her is if she misses her E.
Irelia
This is a very easy lane. Use Q with grasp as much as possible early and after you buy sheen, even at lvl 6, she just cannot outdamage you.
Jax
Against a good jax, you won't hit your Q many times on this lane. But a good way of making him use his E is to start spinning onto him and while you're spinning, press Q so right after you come out of it, you will do a lot of damage and he will most probably not block it.
Jayce
He'll poke you a lot, but at the end of the day, sheen + tabis = he has no chance. When you see him jumping onto you, use W and Q instanly after the jump then spin for the whole duration. It's how you will always outtrade him.
Kennen
Quite an annoying lane, but it's very winnable if you can manage to get to him with your Q charge. He can only outtrade you if he keeps his distance.
Kled
To win trades with Kled, just activate W right before his 4th attack from his W passive. When he's dismounted, if you have Sheen, it takes 1 Q + 1 sec. of spin and then you can Ult him while he's still silenced and he can't try to flash away.
Olaf
Earlier in the game, you should be able to win this lane, just don't fight him for more than 2-3 sec. because he'll definitely outdamage you.
Renekton
He has quite a bit of sustain so it won't be easy with this one. When you are charging at him, use your W when you get close because he'll try to stun you. It will lower the stun duration and damage as well.
Urgot
Urgot has a very good DPS with his W and that shiels that he gets denies almost 80% of your Q damage so if you can somehow bait him to use his E and W, after that you can win the trade. Play it carefully after lvl 6 and don't fight him alone late game.
Yasuo
Do you hate Yasuo? Good. If you see that he's going to be top, you will absolutely DESTROY him with this build. Rush Sheen and tabis and only Q him when you have your grasp ready. After level 6, he has no chance of killing you.
Riven
Even though she will try to block your Q damage with her shield, you will still do damage to her. In an all in, she might be able to kill you first with her ult so play it careful.
Pros and Cons
Here are some pros and cons with this Garen build:
PROS:
- INSANE early game damage - You can take down turrets 5 times faster. - Feels A LOT stronger in teamfights - You get to be both a damage dealer and VERY tanky - It's fun to watch someone get Oneshot in a second
CONS:
- Squishy early game - Risky build path if your whole team is losing - Many people can start spam pinging your items thinking that you're trolling.
Runes
I will try to explain as briefly as possible why I have picked those runes:
Combined with Sheen, it's amazing. And since you're essentially a tank, it deals increasingly more damage. Also stacks hp with every proc which is amazing for you since you are squishier early game.
Does that even need an explanation?
Works very weill with your passive and if you start dorans shield.
Again, getting free hp.
tiumph It can be the difference between living and dying, especially if you like to tower dive. Try to keep your W for after the kill if possible to buy yourself some time for the heal after the kill to come.
Simple: works amazing with your ult, which is an execute based on missing HP.
Early game
To make this build successful, you need to become a monster in the early game. To do that, you need to start by winning your lane HARD. How? It's easy. If you are not getting engaged by your opponent, only trade with him (Q into E and maybe an auto attack here and there) when you have your Grasp of the Undying is ready.
If you're going with the Sheen build, you can trade without having Grasp of the Undying but for the optimal damage, you would want to combine both.
If you are dominating your lane really hard, make sure to keep pressuring it, because you might as well be able to 1v2 if you have Trinity Force completed and going for Stormrazor. If you see that sometimes your opponent can outdamage you, just start roaming around and snowball.
A lot of people question the Zzrot portal as a choice of an item, but it is simply AMAZING when it comes to split pushing especially if you get Trinity Force as well. It works great with Black Cleaver too. Make sure to ALWAYS coordinate your push with your team and tell them to go for either Baron or Dragon (depending on which lane you're pushing hard)!
Teamfights
If you exit the lane with Tabi, Bramble vest and Sunfire, you are basically unkillable. Try to use that as your advantage if you team desperately needs you in a teamfight. Make sure to use W in the right moment to avoid a long CC or a huge burst of damage!
If you go for the Trinity Force build, keep in mind that you might be a bit squisher so try to play the teamfight clever! Always go for the most squishy enemy first since you can easily delete them with just 1 combo of Q > E > AA > Ignite > R.
Summary
For a conclusion I can say that I find this build to be extremely fun to play even if it's on a very mainstream and "no skill" champion, but after you see how much damage you can do on lane and in the late game and how funny it is to OS people within a second, you might start liking it too.
If you have any questions or if you just want to see first hand how that build works, you can join me on my stream. I'm live every day from Monday to Friday.
Now go spread some JUSTICE on the rift ;)
