Champion Build Guide
I'm a (currently) 170k Jhin main with good expierence on many other Marksmen(like Ezreal, Kai'Sa or Caitlyn) and I wanted to create a Guide where I can show some people how to play Jhin as his playstyle is very "different".
I will focus myself on the Laning Phase but also on the mid and late game but very situational (like the whole game).
This is my first ever made Guide so please bare with me if it doesnt look good. Also I used some other guides as information and template so don't blame me if it reminds you from another guides.
Feel free to post any questions or critics as long as its helpful!
-
Strong Burst to squishies
Good follow up with his W
Good Snowballer
Pretty much a sniper
Most people underestimate his damage output until they get to fight him and his 4th shot with somewhat scales with missing health is deadly low health.
Also his Gank Setup is good even with a soft CC support.
Cons
-
Pretty vulnerable to All-Ins
No Mobility
Skillshots are kind of hard to hit
Somewhat high learning Curve (imo)
Punishable
Your Passive is your gun loaded with 4 bullets while your 4th bullet will critically strike but with 150% of the damage. It will scale with the missing health of the enemy which means it is a good finisher for squishies at 30% hp.
You can get easy kills with that if you flash AA the target but don't miss it on the tower or the minions (which I did several times..).
Dancing Grenade
Your Q is Dancing Grenade which is your Main Damage Dealer aside from your Auto Attacks and main use for farming while you are reloading.
If you want to clear waves really quick you should get the Caster Minions low first and let it bounce while killing it so it stacks more damage per kill.
Deadly Flourish
Your W is Deadly Flourish and should be as I said your CC. It is also a decent gank setup as it keeps the player rooted on one spot.
Also dont be afraid and use it for some extra damage on minions when you wasted your Q but in most scenarios you don't need it for farming.
Be mindful with your W and use it if your team can follow up your root.
Captive Audience
Your E is mainly used for poking compared with your Deadly Flourish. It scales with AP and some people even went AP Jhin because of the high damage with that.
Place your Traps in bushes where youre ward is. Most people wont expect that and if you have your eye on the ward you even can compare it with your W as said.
Curtain Call
This is your ult which you can use for cleaning up a fight or start a fight.
It is basically your 4 bullets just stronger. It has an insane range which means that you can use it from safety to deal damage to your enemies. Take care that you are keeping an eye on yourself because assassins will see a good opportunity to flank and burst you.
You pretty much only use it if you feel comfortable on doing good trades although I wouldnt recommend it as a beginner because it is kind of hard to proc it if you dont know how to do it.
Dark Harvest
After the nerfs it is almost no damage but if you know that you will have a very late game it is fine.
In my opinion very situational as the bonus damage isn't high anymore.
Fleet Footwork
I use Fleet Footwork only if I feel very unsafe or against heavy poke like Brand.
You want to start with Doran's Blade and a Health Potion since Doran's Shieldis pretty much useless for you since you need some AD for the beginning.
If you get some Matchups like Caitlynyou would want to start Doran's Ring because of the more spamable Q's as she will try to push you in and bully you. Don't let that happen!
Core Items
Your Core Items will be the Infinity Edge twice or more since as I said Jhin scales really well with raw AD and crit.
You will also need Rapid Firecannon since it synergieses really well with him as he doesnt need many shots to kill a squishy unlike champions like Kog'Maw.
I usually go for 3 Infinity Edge since it gives me a situational item and some strong AD plus crit.
My Build would be:
/ (upgraded ofc)
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Good Range extension and synergize well on doing autoattacks to poke.
Default boots you will use 90% of the games.
Use it if you fight against some heavy CC champions like Morgana or Lux
Good pickUp if you want some defense against an AD assassin or a bit less damage against AD champions like Talon
You mainly use the ER for more CDR which you can use for utility. A good item to pick up.
Good PickUp for AP assassins like LeBlanc.
Situational Pick if you feel like you need more Lifesteal. Wouldn't recommend using it if you have Legend: Bloodline
Same like Mercury's. Also more useful than those defensive boots.
You will use that as a defensive option if you feel like Maw or other defensive options aren't enough.
In the early game you will try to play the lane bully as you can easily punish people by harassing them using your auto attacks while they try to farm.
Although you would need to watch out for the champions who I listed in the threats part because they hurt!
Your plan for most games is to either farm up till you get your Power Spikes like one Infinity Edge or snowball hard.
It depends on the matchup between your support, the enemy support and enemy adc.
Mid Game
This is the part of the game where you excel the most since your 2 - 3 item powerspike hits like a truck and you can start to snowball.
You will need to get other outer turrets if you have the bottom one since you will get caught if you stay too long on their side of the map.
Late Game
You fall a bit off at that point since most adcs reach their true potential in the late game but you still hold a pack-a-punch on auto attacks.
In teamfights you should have one golden rule in mind which is attacking the nearest enemy to you.
if there are multiple enemies in your range you should prioritize the one with the most damage.
Curtain Call has a good slow for teamfights which makes skillshots easier to hit and is also good for cleaning up a fight if you are winning.
To sum up the stuff above:
Jhin is a unique ADC who can easily burst squishies down with his AAs.
He might be a bit hard to play but you will get used to his playstyle.
With the many Infinity Edge people will occasionally ask what that build is supposed to be but they probaly don't know it since it is from Korea.
He is also a good Utility Champion with his Deadly Flourish as it gets people off guard because of his long range.
Personal thoughts
I really like this champion because of his playstyle and his state of the game.
A very snowball heavy champion who can 2v8 the game with his support.
