Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Khazix recently got a huge buff on his Q. If he ever decides to invade, RUN. You cant 1v1 him until later. Keep rivers warded at all times. Focus on farming and getting to your powerspike.
Shaco
This guy. When playing against him it's a guaranteed invade against you. Like Khazix, keep wards up at all times. You can keep him off with your EW if he does invade.
Shaco's usually go Ignite/Smite. If you manage to root him after he goes in on you, you might survive.
Jarvan IV
I try to ban him or Khazix in draft whenever possible. If he sees you before 20 mins he'll use his flag to jump on you and kill you in 2 seconds.
If he engages on you by placing down his banner, flash out of it to avoid being killed then EW and run. After Serpahs, Rod of Ages and Rylais you wont be as squishy and will be able to handle him later on in the game.
Elise
Elise is very strong during your weakest part of the game, early.
She has a stun, and can jump on to you when she ascends and drops on you. If she does drops on you, EW her and try to kite her. Her jump on you doesnt have a very low cooldown so you might be able to kite her.
I suggest getting Banshee's.
Gragas
It depends on how good the gragas is. If he Dash flashes you he can burst you down early, but if he doesnt or misses EW and start to kite him. You can handle him but I suggest pinging for a teammate. If you 2v1 him it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
GET BANSHEE'S VEIL. It'll stops his knockup/stun combo and negate a ton of his burst.
Lee Sin
Like Elise, he's strong when you're weak, early. He has high mobility and burst.
Keep wards up as he might try to exploit your early game and invade.
Like all burst champions, EW him and FOCUS ON DODGING HIS Q. If he missed his Q's you'll be able to get out of there okay.
Olaf
Olaf is pretty strong early. The less health he has the more attack speed he gets.
AVOID HIS AXES. They will slow you an insane amount and he will kill you. If he picks them up his cooldown is pretty much reset.
His ult is a nightmare. No CC will affect him so your slow/root is useless. If he procs it run if you're alone and wait it out.
He usually gets spirit visage so get Magic Pen and slow items to help kite him.
Vi
Vi is a tough matchup since she has a dash, on target ult that'll cc for a few seconds, is tanky, and does alot of damage.
When you see her charging up her first, move side to side before she lets go to make it hard for her to land it. If she misses it and doesnt ult you then it's an easy escape.
If she does have her ult just accept it. DO NOT FLASH IF SHE ULTS IT WILL FOLLOW YOU. Instead wait for it to finish then EW/Flash away.
Later on she wont be that big an issue.
Kindred
The important thing to know about Kindred is her passive. She will occasionally get a mark on one of your jungle camps and will invade to achieve it.
Keep an eye on your map at all times, the second you see a mark on one of your camps, rush there immediately and kill them. You'll deny her stacks and make her waste time.
This matchup goes either way. You can burst her as she's pretty squishy BUT she does have a lot of hop/kite in her kit.
Dont fight her unless you commit to her because her AutoAttack range is much further than your spell cast range. Dont let her get free autoattacks in by hesitating, either run or go in close enough to combo.
Nidalee
Nidalee is an interesting champion. Her spear does more damage the further distance it travels. When she transforms into her lion/tiger she will hop on you and do pretty high burst.
Other than that, you can easily EW her and kite her. She's pretty squishy so it depends on your skill. You can burst her down or just disengage.
Kayn
Kayn is another interesting champion. Before his transformation he isn't terrible.
If he goes Rhaast (Red) he'll become tankier and have knockups.
If he goes Shadow (Blue/Black) he'll become a high burst assassin with A TON of mobility.
The main focus is to root and burst him with a teammate. If you manage to do that he'll be pretty easy to kill.
Evelynn
Eve is a feast or famine champion. She either is fed and will destroy you or will be behind and be useless.
When she hits level 6 she'll be camouflaged (Will be invisible unless she gets really close to you OR Red ward will show her)
When a heart spawns on your head, that means she's preparing to charm you. As soon as it appears know that she's planning on engaging.
She can only proc her charm if she lands an ability on you while the heart is on you. Back away when this happens and she wont be able to burst you down as hard
Master Yi
Yi is iffy. If he's ahead he can burst you down but if he's behind you might be able to kite and kill him.
If you see a Yi heading towards you and you DON'T want to fight don't cast and spells while running, the animation will give him enough space to Q on you.
After he Q's on you EW him and run. He's a melee champ and if he burns his Q then he's easily kited.
When he uses his Ultimate, DO NOT USE W UNLESS HE HAS E ON HIM. His ultimate makes him invulnerable to slows, but not roots/stuns. If you throw a W on him without an E it'll do nothing.
Jax
Since your entire kit isn't Auto Attack based he shouldnt be able to use his E to block out the damage. He can use his leap to go on you and damage, but just EW him and kite again.
He recently got his leap cooldown reduced so that's why he's an issue. Other than that you can kite him with a root and EQ spam.
Karthus
Karthus is seeing more play in the jungle.
The important thing to know is how his q works. His Q has a very very low cooldown (1 second) and it'll spawn a bubble that'll pop and do damage. If the bubble only hits one person then it does 2x damage.
When fighting him, you can burst him down but your main focus is sidestepping his bubble spawns. If you avoid his bubble pops then it's an easy fight.
ALSO DO NOT FORGET HIS PASSIVE. When he dies he can still cast spells so if you kill him make sure to get away from his body. If you're far away enough he'll be useless.
If he ults you, time your Serpah's Item shield to protect you.
Hey guys! I recently started playing Ryze Jungle as a fun pick in my games, but then I realized how good it was.
Ryze Jungle is definitely an interesting pick. It includes alot of kiting (Autoattacking and walking away to avoid being hit) though. His powerspike hits around 20 mins/After level 11, prior to that you're gonna just farm and gank lanes that are hard pushed. That simple.
He is fun to play and becomes an absolute MONSTER later into the game with easy 1v9 potential.
