Champion Build Guide

[9.19] #1 Kayn: Shadow Assassin - KING KAYN (Infinite Mana),

Compared to Challenger Kayn Players

I am still learning and improving my Kayn gameplay. I will definitely update this guide as I improve and rank up.

PRO TIP: Kayn's E works on a lot of the borders of the maps, even in base. This can be useful when ganking top/bot, and also allows you to more quickly dispatch from spawn.

The key to an effective Kayn DA JG, is his amazing ability to relocate quickly and effortlessly. His E allows for this, and also is an extremely effective tool for unexpected ganks, as well as escapes. Kayn can trigger the enemy with his out of nowhere ganks and his ability to dip from sticky situations, leaving the enemy scared and confused.

Kayn's one major limitation is that he is a very mana hungry champ. Always keep an eye on your mana levels to avoid any unpleasant surprises in combat due to his mana-guzzling ways. I included the mana build, which gets rid of this limitation, at the cost of potentially better combat items. However, abilities, no matter how buffed, are worthless if they can't be used, which is where this build comes into play. Muramana allows you to never worry about running out of mana, while simultaneously buffing your AD. Abyssal Mask is another potential option, which complements his passive ability with its Aura.

Contrary to the mainstream opinion, that Rhaast is objectively better than Dark Assassin, I personally enjoy Dark Assassin a lot more. DA is my go-to transformation by default. I only use Rhaast when I am facing a team with a very tanky comp, and when my team does not have the tankiness to counter them. I'd say go Rhaast if the enemy has two legit tanks. That being said, I will probably post a Rhaast guide in the future for you Rhaast enthusiasts.

Dark Assassin brings far more mobility and assassination ability to the table; as a former Kha' Zix main, and Master Yi as my secondary, Dark Assassin complements my play style more than its counterpart.

Kayn's E allows you to cover distance with ease, and sneak in or flank/get behind the enemy groups and take out the squishy's. Moreover his Q can scale walls, meaning that Kayn has the unique ability to go wherever he wants on the map effortlessly. Use this unorthodox mobility to your advantage to surprise your enemy.

Use his R to your advantage. Not only can your R timer be helpful to let your Q W and E reset, but it can also counter other champions abilities. For example, Kayn's R renders Mordekaiser's R useless because of your ability to sit inside of him for an extended amount of time. Use this ability to time your burst, as well as the direction you burst to, to counter your enemy's abilities and give you the advantage in combat.

If your opponents call you Gayn, you know you've successfully gotten into them with your head. *gotten into their heads. sorry typo

As far as builds, never have a build set in stone, builds are situational for any character. The core build will more often than not be constant, however, every game is different and calls for different tools to get the job done: WIN THE GAME.

Familiarizing yourself with his mechanics, such as his passive and the specifics of his abilities, is the best way to maximize your performance. (true for all characters)

Hopefully my guide helps you get more dubs, and enjoy reading "better jg wins" more often.
