Champion Build Guide

[9.24] Diamond Draven ADC main [800+ games]

By ReallyBoring
Draven the snowballing monster!
Hello guys! I am a Diamond NA Draven main. I started playing League on the October of 2018 and after watching a excessive amount of Tyler1 VODS I have found Draven to be my main champion and I have almost a 60% winrate with him. In this guide you will learn how to utilize Draven to his fullest potential, understand his kit, and how to team fight with Draven.
Why Draven? Back to Top
Draven is a powerhouse during the laning phase and is created for aggressive players, he gives off much more satisfaction when securing a kill with his passive League of Draven. Draven is by far the easiest champion to climb the ranked ladder with when mastered, however Draven has a high skill cap so do not jump straight into a ranked game after reading this guide.
Draven's Laning. Back to Top
Draven he is a well known Lane Bully, almost no other champion can deal the same auto for auto damage due to his Spinning Axe, but where he has high attack damage he lacks good poke and peel. So to start off, always take trades where your support can shield/heal you or where you can both auto the enemy, maximizing your damage is always good but in certain situations where the enemy has good sustain such as a Soraka or Nami you might want to wait for opportunities too all in such as a jungle gank or from hook supports, or misplays.

Draven should NEVER die without cashing in his passive, taking one for ones are great but if you even die 2 or 3 times the game is now a 4v5, you are USELESS if you die too much in the laning phase, it is extremely hard for him to catch back up, this is what differentiates a bad Draven and a good Draven
Spinning Axes [Q] Back to Top
Draven's Spinning Axes is his bread and butter ability, it can be manipulated to your liking and provides a significant amount of your damage.

Spinning Axe Is also Draven's biggest weakness, it basically telegraphs where you are heading, a good support will take advantage of this and launch cc at your drop location, champions like Blitzcrank Thresh Leona Nami can abuse this mechanic very well even some AD champions like Varus or Ezreal can use high damaging poke abilities.

Utilizing spinning axes requires immense skill, Draven's axes falls towards wherever he is heading, so you can re position yourself every time you auto to manipulate the axe drop location, this synergizes very well with Draven's W Blood Rush.
Blood Rush [W] Back to Top
Blood Rush is Draven's steroid, every time he catches an axe the ability gets refreshed making it very spammable, it provides attack speed and movement speed making it very difficult for enemies to escape Draven. Blood Rush Is also a very useful ability to re-position yourself, or kite.

Blood Rush Although very strong, it is very mana costly and Dravens need to be very careful about their mana bar as once it runs out you will no longer be able to fight the enemy bot lane.
Stand Aside [E] Back to Top
Stand Aside is made for pure utility it deals low damage and provides minor crowd control, it should never be used to deal damage rather to interrupt enemy champion abilities such as Rocket Jump Aegis of Zeonia Leap Strike Life Form Disintegration Ray. Due to the minor slow it provides, it can be used on unsuspecting ad carries or supports to engage.
Whirling Death [R] Back to Top
Whirling Death Theres really not much to say, this is just a worse Caitlyn ult but non-targeted, you can do some cool tricks with this ability however such as re positioning yourself by flashing to catch enemies with the ability when it redirects to you.
Draven's Teamfighting. Back to Top
Draven is a immobile champion that deals high DPS to a single target, while teamfighting catching your axes should be your #1 priority, and making sure to spam Blood Rush, you should look to cancel abilities that can cc or deal high damage with your Stand Aside, and you should never get locked down by hard cc because that means certain death due to being so immobile.

Dravens DPS can almost rival vayne's W with tanks. By building armor shredding items such as a Lord Dominik's Regards you can deal chunks of the enemies health with every auto.

If Draven can, he should try to damage the enemy squishies such as a support or ad.
Conclusion Back to Top
Never die with stacks.
Catch axes.
Wait for jungler if it is a high poke and sustain lane.
Play around your support.
Get spoon fed kills.
Snowball the game.

Draven is Freelo if exploited right, following these guidelines will significantly improve your rank.

Remember Draven is no easy champion to master, play at least 30 games in normal, if you cannot get over a 50% winrate with him this is probably not the champion for you but if you can get past all the challenges that come with Draven then I hope I see you in solo queue.
