Welcome to my Nami support guide! I hope this guide helps you as you go along your journey of learning The Tidecaller. In this guide, I will be going over runes for Nami, pros & cons, abilities, items, spells, as well as gameplay tips and a warding guideHello, I'm DatKawaiiBunny! I'm a Silver IV ADC/Support main. I've been playing League of Legends since April of season 7 as an ADC main My highest mastery champions are Lux, Sona, and Xayah, but I plan to make Soraka my 3rd highest.I started playing Nami about a year after I joined, about the time I started playing Soraka. She's one of my go-to picks for Clash and ranked because of her fantastic kit! Summon Aery Summon Aery is the defensive rune you want to take on Nami. When you use Ebb and Flow and Tidecaller's Blessing on an ally, they're shielded for 35 - 80 based on level (+ 25% AP). Summon Aery also deals 10 - 40 based on level (+ 10% AP) damage to enemies when you use an ability.

Manaflow Band Manaflow Band gives you 25 mana every time you hit an enemy champion with an ability. It also gives you up to 250 mana, so I take this rune over any other. This helps me with her early game since I like to poke with Ebb and Flow.

|
Transcendence Ability haste is quite valuable and it can be hard to come by. Transcendence gives you 5 ability haste at level 5 and 8. When you hit level 11, the remaining cooldowns on your abilities are reduced by 20%.
|
|
|
Scorch Scorch is the best choice for Nami. Your abilities deal 15 - 35 bonus magic damage. You could also take Waterwalking for 25 movement speed and 30 AP (based on level) when you're in the river.

|
Revitalize My personal favorite on healing supports, especially Nami. Ebb and Flow is already pretty strong throughout the game, but this makes it way better, especially with items. Revitalize makes heals and shields 5% stronger and if your ally is below 40% HP, your heals and shields increase by an additional 10%.

|
Bone Plating Bone Plating is one of my favorite runes to take, especially when I go support. After taking damage from an enemy, their next 3 attacks deal less damage. Since most support champions are squishy, this is a good rune to take so you can survive a little longer.
|
|
|
Guardian Guardian shields and hastes yourself and a nearby ally if you or your ally takes damage for 70 - 150 (+ 25% AP) (+ 12% bonus health). Nami can be very squishy, so I take Guardian against a Leona or a Brand.

|
Font of Life When you impair an enemy's movement speed, a mark is put on them for 4 seconds. Any ally that attacks an enemy with a mark heal for 5 (+ 1% of your max health) over 2 seconds. Tidecaller's Blessing and Tidal Wave slow enemy champions, which is the reason why I take this rune.
|

|
Bone Plating Since Neeko is squishy, I take Bone Plating for the extra sustain, so I of course, recommend this rune. After taking damage, the next three spells or attacks deal 30 - 60 less damage for 1.5 seconds.
|
|
|
Revitalize Revitalize makes Nami heals 5% stronger and if your ally is below 40% HP, your heals increase by an additional 10%. Ebb and Flow is already really powerful, but this rune comes in handy during teamfights.

|
Biscuit Delivery Biscuit Delivery is good for supports that use up a lot of mana early. Nami is no exception. She uses it quite a bit of mana on Ebb and Flow, especially if you're up against someone with a lot of poke. It restores 12% of your missing mana and health for 15 seconds. It also increases your mana cap by 50. You get 3 biscuits in total. 1 every 2 minutes.

Magical Footwear Magical Footwear is a pretty decent rune. You gain a pair of Slightly Magical Boots around the 10 - 12 minute mark, sometimes earlier. You could also take Approach Velocity for the 7.5% movement speed towards enemy champions with impaired movement speed. This goes well with Tidecaller's Blessing and Tidal Wave.

♥ Passive: Surging Tides
When
Nami hits herself or allies with one of her abilities, they gain 45 (+20% of ability power) Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds. The effects are doubled if they're hit with Tidal Wave.
♥ Aqua Prison
Cost: 60
Nami throws a bubble at a targeted area. When it lands, enemies are lifted into the air. It deals 75 / 130 / 185 / 240 / 295 (+50% of ability power). Any enemies in the bubble are stunned for 1.5 seconds.
♥ Ebb and Flow
Cost: 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130
Nami throws a stream of water that bounces back anf forth between ally and enemy champions (including Nami) Ebb and Flow can hit up to 3 targets. The damage or healing value is reduced by 15%(+7.5% per 100 AP) with each bounce.Ally
Heals for 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160 (+30% of ability power) and it bounces to a nearby enemy champions.Enemy
Deals 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+50% of ability power) then bounces to a nearby ally champion.
♥ Tidecaller's Blessing
Cost: 70 / 85 / 100 / 115 / 130
Nami gives herself or an ally 3 empowered auto attacks or abilties. It lasts for 6 seconds, or until they attack 3 times. 25 / 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 (+20% of ability power) bonus damage and slow the target hit by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 (+5% of ability power) for 1 second.
♥ Tidal Wave
Cost: 100
Nami summons a wave that travels outwards from her position. The wave knocks up, and slow enemies champions that come into contact with Tidal Wave. They're slowed by 50 / 60 / 70 and it deals 150 / 250 / 350 (+60% of ability power). The slow is increased based on how far Tidal Wave travels. The slow duration is 2-4 seconds.

Flash teleports your champion wherever your cursor is. Flash is a good engage, and escape. Nami doesn't really have an escape, sometimes with Aqua Prison, Tidal Wave or Surging Tides. It's also a key spell for all champions, except Yuumi. Ignite deals damage 70 - 410 true damage on a targeted enemy champion for 5 seconds, and applies grievous wounds, which reduces all healing received and regeneration rates by 40%. Ignite helps in teamfights, and with champions that heal like Dr. Mundo and Vladimir. Like most supports, this gives Nami a lot of kill potential. Exhaust slows down a targeted enemy champion for 30% of their movement speed, and reduces their damage by 40% for 2.5 seconds. Exhaust can make engaging easier. It can help with Aqua Prison or Tidal Wave. It can also help if you're being invaded. |
Support is one of the most important roles. There's more to it than just playing the champion. You have to understand your job in the laning phase, teamfights, as well as warding, and wave control.

Early Game♥ Level 1:You just want to get level two. Preferably before the enemies level up. Relic Shield is good for this, along with providing wave control.♥ Level 2:Depending on where the minion wave is and how much lane pressure you and your ADC have, this will determine if you should be aggressive or not. If you're up against a Leona or a Thresh, their level two tends to be stronger, but you can level up Aqua Prison instead of Tidecaller's Blessing.♥ Level 3 - 5:Level 6 is when you get your ultimate Tidal Wave, which is your strongest ability. Before then, your job is to look for opportunities to engage, ward, farm, and poke. You should start warding dragon or around dragon. If your ADC is aggressive, you should be looking for opportunities to engage and provide more pressure so your team can have more priority over dragon . Also, depending on the wave, the mid lane, your laners, and ADC, you could probably roam with your jungler. About this time, you can most likely help your ADC get a kill or two, but that depends on how much pressure the enemy has, especially jungle pressure. If you're countered, do not engage and play a little passively. Get the minions with Relic Shield. If they try to engage or make a mistake, try to punish them. You can maybe engage of them, since their abilities are on cooldown, so use Aqua Prison.♥ Level 6:Now, you have your ultimate, Tidal Wave, which is a great engage/teamfight ability. It has a range of 2,750, along with an airborne and a slow. Depending on their team comp, this can also be used as an disengage, specifically for Leona. You can Tidal Wave, Exhaust, then Aqua Prison. You can also use Tidecaller's Blessing on yourself or an ally before the ultimate or after. I usually use Tidal Wave to start a teamfight, disengage, or to zone enemies. |
Mid/Late Game♥ Roaming:Personally, I like to roam when I have my ultimate Tidal Wave, especially on Nami but you can always roam earlier. Aqua Prison also airbornes people, along with stunning them. However, roaming can be a tricky thing, especially if you don't communicate with your team. On some occasions, you can roam towards top side for rift herald

♥ Teamfight Tips:
Teamfights are very important, and they can turn the game around. Nami has quite the teamfight ultimate with Tidal Wave. If possible, use Tidal Wave to engage in a fight, especially since it can cancel some ultimates. You also shouldn't be too cluttered together with your team, especially if they have a Leona. Focus on healing whoever needs it, specifically your ADC and frontline. Don't forget, you can empower your allies abilities and basic attacks with Tidecaller's Blessing.
Warding is very important throughout the game. Providing your team with vision can really turn a game around, especially if you ward objectives, such as
dragon, rift herald, and baron. From my experiences playing support, you should ward about every 4 - 5ish minutes, if you have any available at that time. The key is to get as much information about the enemy team as possible. Warding entrances, objectives and jungle camps, as well as some bushes are the best places to ward.
Early GameIn the early game, you should prioritize warding as much as possible. You can get your item around 6 - 12 minutes in. If you're ahead, you should try to ward either the enemy's blue buff or red buff to get some vision on the jungler, just in case they plan to gank. If you can't do that, ward the tribush with a Stealth Ward or a Control Ward (it's better to ward the bush in the middle of the river over the tribush.) If you're experiencing issues with their jungler, ward the entrances to the bot lane (tribush, over the wall towards their tower, and in the river.) |
Mid/Late GameBy this time, you should be out of the bot lane. Your upgraded support item gives you an opportunity to deep ward. You want to focus on warding the enemy's jungle. Specifically, near objectives, entrances, and blast cones. You should always keep dragon warded, preferably with a Control Ward. Buy an Oracle's Lens as soon as your item is upgraded and try to deny them vision by looking for wards they've placed in your jungle, as well as theirs. |
