Champion Build Guide

[11.11] WIP ♥ Saddle up, Y'all! | DatKawaiiBunny's Senna S

By DatKawaiiBunny

Welcome to my Senna support guide! I hope this guide helps you on your journey to learning Senna, The Redeemer. In this guide, I will be going over pros & cons, runes, abilities, items, spells, gameplay tips, and a warding guide! If you have any questions, I would love to help! Just leave them in the comments. If you plan to go Senna ADC, I have runes, items, etc in a champion build tab! They are very similar to the Kraken Slayer build for Senna support.

Hello, I'm DatKawaiiBunny! I'm a Gold IV ADC, mid, and support main! I've been playing League of Legends since April of season 7 as an ADC main, specifically a Caitlyn main! My overall goal is to climb to platinum this season then continue to climb afterward. My highest mastery champions are Lux, Caitlyn, and Sona

Senna has been dominating the bot lane in season 11! Because of the new and updated items, she has been one of the best supports. Recently, tank Senna took a serious hit due to the changes to Iceborn Gauntlet. it's no longer a viable item! I update my guide each time I play her with items, runes, etc. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read my Senna guide. Thanks a lot, and happy supporting! ♥

♥ Global AOE Ultimate

♥ Strong Root with Last Embrace

♥ Camouflage

♥ Reduced Cooldown on Piercing Darkness

Senna is the first marksmen support champion. With her great poke and strong root, she's never a bad pick! If Piercing Darkness is on cooldown, it can be reduced by auto attacks! In a way, it rewards you for playing aggressively. Her ultimate, Dawning Shadow is a global AOE ability that deals damage and shields your allies at the same time!

♥ Long Cooldown on Dawning Shadow

♥ Weak Heal with [[piercing darkness]

♥ High Cooldowns Early

♥ Slow Auto-Attacks & Bad Scaling

♥ Squishy

Like all marksmen, Senna is squishy. She also has high cooldowns on Curse of the Black Mist and Last Embrace, which can make escaping difficult. Not to mention Piercing Darkness doesn't have a strong heal, especially compared to Nami or Soraka. The main issue with Senna is that her AS doesn't scale well, as well as her crit. She can also be rather weak in the mid/late stages of the game if she doesn't get a good amount of souls in the laning phase.

Grasp of the Undying
If you go Iceborn Gauntlet, then Grasp of the Undying is the rune for you! It goes perfectly with all the health items you will be building, such as Black Cleaver and Sterak's Gage. Every 4 seconds in combat, your next auto attacks will deal bonus damage equal to 4% of your max health, heal you for 2% of your max health, and permanently increase your health by 3. However, the damage and healing are reduced by 40% on ranged champions.

Option 1: Font of Life
Out of all the options, this is the best one. It won't benefit you early, but it will do wonders for you once you get Iceborn Gauntlet. Enemies with impaired movement speed are marked for 4 seconds. Allies who attack marked enemies are healed for 5 (+ 1% of your max health) over 2 seconds.

Option 2: Shield Bash
You can also take Shield Bash for the extra sustain when you use Dawning Shadow or Locket of the Iron Solari. It also works with Sterak's Gage. While shielded, gain 1 − 10 (based on level) bonus armor and magic resistance. Whenever you gain a shield, your next basic attack against a champion deals 5 - 30 (based on level)(+ 1.5% bonus health) (+8.5% shield amount) bonus Adaptive damage. The empowered attack lasts up to 2 seconds after the shield expires.

Option 1: Bone Plating
Senna, like most marksmen, is a squishy champion. Bone Plating is one of the best runes you can take for sustain. It benefits you throughout the whole game. After taking damage from an enemy champion, the next 3 spells or attacks you receive from them deal 30 - 60 less damage for 1.5 seconds.

Option 2: Conditioning
Conditioning is another really good option for Senna. It's a mid game rune that gives you +9 Armor and +9 Magic Resist after 12 minutes. It also increases your Armor and Magic Resist by 5%. However, the only armor items in the build are Iceborn Gauntlet, Plated Steelcaps and sometimes Locket of the Iron Solari.

A rather simple rune, but definitely a great one for Senna! Piercing Darkness has weak heal early, compared to other support, like Soraka. Revitalize increases outgoing and incoming heals and shields by 5% and an additional 10% on targets below 40% health.

Legend: Bloodline
I personally like taking life steal on Senna for the extra healing. You gain "legend points" from (100) takedowns, (100) epic/(25) large monster takedowns, and (4) minion takedowns. You gain 0.6% life steal for every "legend stack" you get, which you get by earning 100 points. You can get up to 15 stacks and 9% life steal.

Presence of Mind
Since Senna has an aggressive playstyle, this is the best rune. Damaging an enemy champion increases your mana regeneration by 1.5 − 11 mana per second (depending on level), reduced to 80% effectiveness for ranged champions, for 4 seconds. When triggering this effect, energy users regenerate 1.5 energy per second instead. After a 1-second delay, takedowns restore 15% of your maximum mana.

Ability Sequence

♥ Passive: Absolution

Senna's basic attacks on-hit and damaging abilities on enemy champions apply mist for 4 seconds, refreshed to 0.75 seconds if Senna starts winding up an auto attack on them. If Senna applies mist to the same target twice, she collects a mist wraith, dealing 1−16% of target's current health as bonus physical damage (depending on level). Senna can use Piercing Darkness, Dawning Shadow, and auto attacks to collect mist wraiths and 8 gold. Senna's basic attacks deal 20% AD bonus physical damage on-hit and grant 10 / 15 / 20% of the target's movement speed as bonus movement speed for 0.5 seconds on-hit.

Enemy units that die near Senna have a chance to spawn a mist wraith for 8 seconds. Epic monsters drop 2 mist wraiths while large monsters drop 1. Minions and lesser monsters that Senna kills have a 4.166% chance. Large minions that Senna doesn't kill are guaranteed, while lesser minions and lesser monsters that Senna doesn't kill have a 28% chance.

Each stack of mist grants Senna 0.75 bonus attack damage. For every 20 stacks, Senna also gains 25 bonus range and 10% critical strike chance. Upon exceeding 100% critical strike chance, Senna converts 35% of the excess into life steal.

♥ Piercing Darkness

Cost: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110

Senna shoots a bolt of piercing shadow through an ally or enemy. Enemies hit take 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Allied champions hit are healed for 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 (+0.4 per bonus attack damage) (+40% of ability power) health.

♥ Last Embrace

Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70

Senna throws out a projectile of black mist, hitting the first target hit for 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+0.7 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. After a second, it roots the target and other nearby enemies for 1.25 / 1.50 / 1.75 / 2 / 2.25 seconds.

♥ Curse of the Black Mist

Cost: 70

Senna turns into a cloud of mist for 6 seconds and becomes a wraith for 6 / 6.5 / 7 / 7.5 / 8 seconds. Allies that enter the mist are camouflaged and also appear as wraiths. Wraiths. gain 20% increased movement speed, are unselectable, and hide their identities as long as no enemy champions are nearby.

♥ Dawning Shadow

Cost: 100

Senna fires a projectile of two global beams, granting sight of the area briefly along its path. The center beam deals 250 / 375 / 500 (+1.0 of attack damage) (+50% of ability power) physical damage to enemy champions hit, while the broad beam gives Senna and allied champions hit a 120 / 160 / 200 (+40% of ability power) (+1.5 per mist collected) shield for 3 seconds.

Flash teleports your champion wherever your cursor is. Plus, it's a key summoner spell for every champion, except Yuumi. Senna has an escape with her Curse of the Black Mist, but it has a long cooldown. Flash provides her with another escape.

If they have a lot of healing, take Ignite. It helps in lane (especially if you're up against Soraka), teamfights, and with champions with health regeneration, like Dr. Mundo and Vladimir. Ignite deals damage 70 - 410 true damage on a targeted enemy champion for 5 seconds, and applies grievous wounds, which reduces all healing received and regeneration rates by 40%.

If you also decide to go Senna ADC, I suggest taking Exhaust. I've been taking it over Heal every single time I play ADC. Exhaust slows down a targeted enemy champion for 30% of their movement speed, and reduces their damage by 40% for 2.5 seconds. It's a great rune for engaging and disengaging an enemy, like Zed or Kayn.

If your ADC takes Exhaust or Cleanse, take Heal. It heals the caster and the allied champion nearest to the caster's cursor (or the most wounded ally if no target is near the cursor) by 90 - 345 health and gives affected champions +30% movement speed for 1 second. It's also 50% less effective on allies who were previously healed with Heal and it's less effective if you or your allies are affected by Ignite.

Support is one of the most important roles. There's more to it than just playing the champion. You have to understand your job in the laning phase, teamfights, as well as warding, and wave control.

Senna's early game is about poking and harassing the enemy, while your ADC gets minions. Your main source of poke is Piercing Darkness and auto-attacks. Use your passive as much as you can to deal the most damage possible. You also want to pick up as many souls as possible to increase your stats. Please note that you will not get a soul if you kill a siege minion You can build AD, tank, or lethality on Senna.

Early Game

♥ Level 1:

You just want to get level two. Preferably before the enemies level up. Your job is to set the tone for the lane by either being aggressive, or passive.

♥ Level 2:

Not only does it depend on wave control and lane pressure, but it also depends on which support item you bought. Since the only support item that works on Senna is Spectral Sickle, you don't have to worry about this issue. However, you have to play offensively so you can get gold and souls.

♥ Level 3 - 5:

Level 6 is when you get your ultimate, which is your strongest ability. Before then, your job is to get as much money as possible and to provide pressure so you can get objectives, like dragon and first turret. With Senna, you should work on getting all the souls you can before mid game! You can get souls from minions, epic monsters, and enemy champions.

♥ Level 6:

Now, you have your ultimate, Dawning Shadow. With most global ultimates, it's better to use them on enemies with low health. Since Senna's ultimate provides a shield to allies, it's best to use it when your team engages in a fight. I highly suggest not using the ultimate on rift herald, baron nashor or dragon since it deals no damage, and the cooldown is so high. You might not benefit from using it unless your team is in a fight and winning.

Mid/Late Game

♥ Roaming:

♥ Teamfight Tips:

Teamfights are very important, and they can turn the game around.

Warding is very important throughout the game. Providing your team with vision can really turn a game around, especially if you ward objectives, such as dragon, rift herald, and baron.

Early Game

In the early game, you should prioritize warding as much as possible. You probably won't have your upgraded support item by then, but that's okay. If you're ahead, you should try to ward either the enemy's blue buff or red buff to get some vision on the jungler, just in case they gank. If you can't do that, ward the tribush with a Stealth Ward or a Control Ward. If you're behind, then ward the river, one of the bushes in the bot lane, and dragon. If you're behind because of the enemy jungler, then make sure to ward the tribush, if they're coming from that direction. If not, focus on the river.

Mid/Late Game

By this time, you should be out of the bot lane. Your upgraded support item gives you an opportunity to deep ward. You want to focus on warding the enemy's jungle. Specifically, near objectives and blast cones. You should always keep dragon warded, preferably with a Control Ward. Buy an Oracle's Lens as soon as your item is upgraded and try to deny them vision by looking for wards they've placed in your jungle, as well as theirs.

  • Blue Dots are of course the Blue Team.
  • Red Dots are of course the Red Team.
  • Pink Dots are Control Wards.
  • Small Green Dots are Blast Cones
